It got even colder today. Minus thirteen while I and the dogs took our morningwalk. But the sun shined and the wind weren´t there at all. I wondered for a long time why there were so much trafick today, the noice from the bigger raods were quit loud, but then I remembered that it´s Monday today :-) My first week of vacation has ended and the second has started.
The pictures today is from all dog walks I and my dogs took this day. This is around eight in the morning. The sun is not up yet and it´s minus thirteen degrees outside.
In one part of my cottage there´s only one glass windows, so I have to put in extra glass in wintertime. Sometimes there´s a little bit of water on the glass and it freezes cold days.
In Sweden if one worked at the same place for one year (or more ofcourse), one get five weeks of paid vacation. Everyone have that by law. But this Christmasvacation we have worked in kompensation time the whole year. So I still have five weeks in the summer to look forward to :-) This perhaps sounds much for You in other countries, but on the other hand we have almost no other holidays. At autumn there´s none at all and in springtime we have easter and a few other one day holidays.
I love the contrast between the dark spruces and by frost white coloured birches.
A crabappletree shadows the dogyard summertime. It gives loads of apples and unfortunally my dogs loves them. They do get a lot of gases in the stomac and guess how it smelles in my home then :-)
Now it´s dark outside and I think that I´ll spend the evening reading little in some of my gardeningbooks. I´ve read them all before but some of the I can read on and on without getting bored at them.
Be good!
It´s arond 2:30 pm and the sun is going down. It will still be light outside at least untill 4:00pm.

you have had a busy day it seems walking all over in that cold weather.Your dogs must have enjoyed it. Now is evening for you here it is only 1:00 PM. I looked on the world clock for the time. I would be exhausted spending all that time out in the cold. Enjoy your books and stay warm...

I´m not spending to much energy on our walks, but my dogs do run around like crazy :-) So it is six houres different in time between us.
Now I´ll kontinue to read my books and drink more tea :-)
Christer.
Brrr, Christer! Minus 13 degrees calls for a hot cup of tea and a good book. Your pictures are so expressive and artistic! They are pictorial essays. Good work. Mr. BeanBlogger, my husband of 56 years, enjoys taking pictures, too. As I write, he is on his own computer (gifts from sons Joe and Bob) across from me. Somethings, we email eachother with tidbits of news or reminders or an invite to lunch just two rooms away.We have a grand time together even when we are grumbling about one thing or another but never about our land and quietness, wildlife and that it's off the beated track though folks are moving closer and closer to us and if this keeps up, this area will require paved roads and blinkers and ... well, you get the idea. Be well and contented ... AliceMary Beanblogger
Hi AliceMary!
So You have been married for 56 years! That´s great! I myself is the eternal bachelor :-)
I can see that Mr BeanBlogger likes taking pictures, they are very good!
Very few wants to live out here in the countryside, so I don´t have to worry about a crowded neighbourhood. The bus stop is five kilometer away and the nerest groserystore is ten kilometers away. I moved away from all traffic and noice so I rellay found the right place for me :-)
Have a nice day now!
Christer.
Great pictures again. I love the top one with the red building (barn?) in it. I have some kind of love of farmish pictures. 13 below is very cold. So how do you get out and walk in it? I am trying to not be a bad dog owner but I hate the cold. It was nice today however 60's. My Jeni and I took a nice 2 mile walk. I love the smell of cows (okay not really). :)
Visiting Voyeur.
The red building in the top picture is my little cottage :-) And the picture below that is my garage/dogyard.
If one only have warm clothes and wear gloves or mittens it´s not that bad taking walks in minus thirteen. But if there had been ant wind it would have been worse I think. But when it is windy we take our walks in the forest, the wind can´t reach us there :-)
The smell of cows is nice, but when they´re spreding the manure it´s a different thing :-) :-)
Have a nice day!
Christer.
the photos are beautiful! I loved the house! very cute!
I do not know how cold it is negative 13, I managed to see snow here (in the Serra da Estrela) and two were negative, my husband was dying of cold, and I loved every drop of water or ice crystals! hehehe got to keep it in a cup! not to mention that I ate to try! hehehehehe
I'm even a "carioca pie," I love cold (not like feeling cold, like being with certain clothes) and take a hot chocolate!
I think the cold reminds me of childhood fantasies Christmas. clear taste of cold, but not know their annoyances, I speak from imagine
Hi Andrea!
-13 is really cold :-) The air is so cold and dry that our nostrels freezes :-) :-)
I don´t like the cold especially much to be honest, but a fire in the stove and a cup of warm cocoa is great :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
