The only picture I got on the way to pottery class this morning. It´s Kungälvs Fästning (Kungälvs fortres) The tower You see is Fathers hat. There were another tower too before called Mothers hat, but it fell long ago.
I promised to take some nice pictures on my way to pottery class today, but it was so foggy that it was impossible to take more than one picture. I couldn´t see if I was aming the camera at the fortress because of all the other cars. What does people do on the roads att nine am on a Sunday? Why aren´t they still asleeep? There can´t be that many pottery classes going on I think :-)
It´s nose is a bit long, I can see that now. But to never have done a cats head I think it´s pretty good actully :-)
It had snowed all night so there was about 10 cm (4 inches) of new snpw on the roads here at home, but as soon I came to the bigger roads they had already plowed them clean. During the day it got really hot and the snow melted away really fast, in Kungälv not here. But it was so warm that I had to turn of the heater in the car on my way home :-) Perhaps we can wish for and get an early spring after all? I made a birdbath too. The glass pieces will melt in the owen and make some nice patterns I think. The bottom is uneven because then it´s easier for the birds to stand still when they are bathing.
By the way, my photo didn´t rech the finals in the photo competition, but I´m happy with it anyway :-)
Enjoy the rest of the weekend now!
In the pottery class I finished the thing I started making yesterday. The head of a cat. It became so much bigger than I first imagined it. So I hade to let the chin of the cat rest on a towel. I´m pretty satisfied with it though. After that I made a birdbath and a “Welkome sign” to hang on my front door.
This one I showed You yesterday when she had not finished it. Now it looks like this and I think it´s great!
By the way, my photo didn´t rech the finals in the photo competition, but I´m happy with it anyway :-)
Enjoy the rest of the weekend now!

I like the photo of kungalvs Fortres - It must be quite empowering in sunlight.
About your cat, Christer: Yes, you should like it! Even it's nose is appropriate - long and regal and snobbish and oh, so independent! It is very good molding, my friend! What wonderful pieces you will have in your home and garden. The birdbath is grand. Will it go on a stand? A branch? Anyway, I'm inticipating the pleasures of your finished pieces ... Take care, GeeGee
Hi GeeGee!
Thank You! I do like the cat and it will be exiting to give it some colour. Just hope that it all will not brake in the owen!
Christer.
Have to agree with the other comments you have a fine hand for creating your projects should emerge from the oven in fine color and form.pottery class was a good choice you made even with the long drive to get there. I like the bird bath it will look nice in your garden.
Hi Woody!
yes it was worth the driving I can say. I really hope it will hold the time in the owen now.
I think that the glass will be light green, because the clay will get almost white when burned. Most of my things is going to be burnt with Iron oxid. By brushing of some places and put thick layers on other places the colour will be from light brown to almost led gry/black.
Have a nice day now!

Christer..you are so creative! What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday! I think your cat's head is good..but..I have to tell you that it looks like a WILD cat rather than a domestic. The size of the head, the rather elongated jaw..looks wild to me, but nevertheless a cat!!
I enjoyed your friends blog VERY much and she wrote a very sweet letter also. I was so surprised. What a wonderfully warm and sweet woman she is.
Have a nice Monday and keep us posted with your sculpting.
Mona
HiMona!
I think that Your absolutly right when You say it looks like a wild cat. It strated out to be a house cat and ended up to be a mountin lion? :-) It´s a bit cooler don´t Yopu think :-) I´m so happy it looked like some kind of cat at all :-)
Now we have to waute for rather many weeks until the things are coloured, but I will show You pictures of how we do it and how they became.
About the walks on the bog. If I´m not sure how to walk home again I only have to tell the dogs that we are going home, then they will show the way :-)
Have a nice day now!
Christer.

Christer.
