Now the redberried elderberry has started to open up its buds even in the forest.

Took a day of fron work today, wanted to be sure of getting one sunny day this week :-) In Sweden a working week is 38,5 hours, but we work 40 hours. So that 1,5 hour we work extra every week goes in to a time bank and can be used when ever we want to. Usually we use those hours around holidays. If for instance Christmas eve is on a Tuesday, we use our hours on Monday and Friday so we can be free all week. This Christmas a was free from work for three weeks :-)

The water in the little creek nearby has frozen over night but is quickley starting to melt as soon the sun is shining.

The sun is shining and it´s slightly cold outside because of the wind. But more and more migrating birds are arriving to the lake now. I tried to take some pictures of geese and swans when they flew only a couple of meters (about sixteen feet) over my head, but they do fly fast I can tell You :-) I got some nice pictures of a clear blue sky, but since I showed You the sky some days ago I thought that was enough :-)

The bigger creek still has some ice on it, but as You can see here most of it has melted away now.

The Meadow larch has arrived and hovers up in the air singing its song and the Blackbird (Klick on the text "Lyssna" and You´ll hear the blackbirds song) sits way up in the trees singing its song. Yesterday I heard the first doves in the spruces and I wanted to take some pictures of them, but as soon as I came close enough they flew away. Well spring has come even if nature will strike back now and again with more cold winds and perhaps some more snow.

Tomorrow I´m going to drive by the cranelake on my way home from work to get some better pictures of cranes for You. But today I´m just going to enjoy the sun, the spring and all the birdsongs. Probably You´ll find me on my kitchen stairs with a hot cup of tea enjoying it all :-)
Be good!

Hi Woody!
Had the same idea about the picture with the sunbeam. Usually I don´t like when the sun interferes with my pictures, but today it was perfect. We are going to get sun all weekend it seemes :-)
Have a nice spring day now!

Your pictures of the stream with the ice still clinging to the edges as if defying Spring to take over, and the little elderberry buds beginning to peek out are perfect proof that Winter is on it's way out. What a beautiful time of year. The wild beauty of the area where you live gives lots to photograph. I am glad you are there to capture it all and share with us. Thank you, Christer.

Hi Mona!
Yes, spring comes wether the ice wants it or not :-) But it gets help every night to stay a little bit longer, because it´s down to 18F every night it seemes.

It´s really easy to take pictures here when nature sort of throws motives in ones face :-)
Have a nice day now!
Christer.
