Perhaps not as a colorful morning today as yesterday, but beautiful anyway I think.

As soon as Hector got the cortisone yesterday he slowly stopped to drool. It took some time, but finally he stopped. So I was a bit surprised when he suddenly started again! and so where the vet. But I found out why when I went out and saw that he had found his breakfast and had eaten it all :-) :-) Soaked in toad poison as the food was, he then naturally started to drool again, but not as much as before though.

But soon all colors dissapered and was replaced with different shades of grey. But I have to say that it´s as beautiful as the pink morningsky.
But it wasn´t until I went to bed that I understood where he had been all the evening, my bed was now soaked with dog saliva :-) :-) :-) So i told him in the kindest words I could that if he ever did that again I´d personally would push a toad right down his throat and keep it there :-) But he was ok this morning.

I found this bumblebee on a wilted sunflower. It seemed to be a bit tired and wouldn´t move even if I came rather close with the camera. I think it has stayed benieth the flower during the night, hiding from the rain that came. It´s fairly young, You can see that on the wings because they look as new, so I´m pretty sure it´s not a dying bumblebee anyway.

Yes, autumn is closing in. The fruit of the japanese rose is becomming red now.

I later went to the store and thought that my dogs would get a treat when I came home. But I changed my mind when I opened the front door. They had broken in to my garbage bin and spread all garbage on the kitchen and entrence floor! There were egg shells all over the floor plus everything else that we have in our garbage. So they missed a treat and I had to clean up the mess.

And so does the leafs on the Amur maple, Acer tataricum ssp. ginnala.

Well that is what to expect if one has a dog or two or three I guess :-) But this is nothing compared with what their old grandma, Viran, could doo :-) She did destroy three refridgerators in her youth. Not to mention everything she ate or stole from other peoles homes. I have to say that I have had really friendly neighbours. I remember one time when old Viran ran into my neighbours kitchen and ate his dinner directly from the fryingpan! He just turned around when he heard her comming (he loved that dog more than most things) and when he turned back all food was gone :-) :-) But she did even worse another time, but he always forgave her immediatly. So who am I to complain about some garbage on the floor :-)
have a great day now!

Hi Christer.

Agree...not as colorful, but just as beautiful of a sunrise.

Sorry to hear about all that dog drool...yuck! Not to mention the trash incident! Have to say that you most certainly have a heart of gold!!!

BTW...what kind of camera do you use? That is my gift to myself for my 40th birthday. I currently have a little Sony point and shoot, but am looking to upgrade to a digital SLR.

Have a great day and a wonderful weekend,
Valerie

Hi Valerie!
That´s life when living with dogs :-) :-) and I wouldn´t want to live without them.

I have a Sony Cyber-shot, able to take 7,2 megapixles pictures (but I usually only takes 5 megapixles pictures with it). Before that I had a Sanyo Xacti that I liked even more. One could come really close or take pictures from further distance than with the Sony I have now. But the Sony is great and easy to use.

Have a great day and wekend too!
Christer.

The exact´name on the Sanyo is "Sanyo Xacti VPC-E6". I still has it here at home and I´m thinking of reparing it, if it doesn´t cost to much.

Love the sunrise. Not sure I go completely with forgiving the dogs. I think it's back to Obedience School. Sign them up today while the weather is still warm. Sometimes the dogs sound like a full time job. I'm glad we now have cats only. Curtain climbers as they are known here. Lovely photos, thanks.

Hi Z&M!
Normally they do as they shall, they are really good. But leaving them home alone can somtimes be a bit troublesome :-) :-) I could have put them in the dogyard, but I thought it would be no problems since i would be away for such a short time. How wrong I was :-) :-)
Have a great day now!

Christer,
My dog Shauna was a garbage picker. In no time at all she could spread the trash and garbage all over the kitchen and bring cat food cans upstairs to my bed where she'd clean them out. Like you, I was always cleaning up after her.

Glad to hear the toad eater is fine!

Hi Kat!
What else can one do but clean up after them :-) :-) I´ve always wondered how they can clean a tin without cutting their tung? It´s so clean after they are done that I don´t think I can clean it better with dish water :-) :-)

Yes the toad eater is doing fine today. But I wonder if he has learned anything from this :-) :-)
Have a great day now!

hi christer...why do you think dogs eat their thrown up stuff. it is so gross. teddy always does that no matter how much i yell at her. i mean, why throw it u in the first place if you are just going to eat it again? it sounds like they are all feeling good enough to trash the house when you are away though!!! joyce

Ah...you wouldn't REALLY push a froggie down his throat and keep it there...would you? Yep...I have a feeling if you didn't, you would feel like it! I would have been upset too. Having dogs is like having children..you clean up their messes...scold and keep going and forgive immediately. :)

On Friday night, last, we gathered at my daughters for dinner. It was beautiuful..a lovely Mexican meal..and for dessert we had fresh baked apple deep dish pie, warm fron the over with scoops of ice cream and hot coffee and tea.
Lovely.. until I heard a scream from my daughter and looked in the kitchen to find that her dog, (she which is huge (can't think of the name of the breed) had finished off the entire apple pie.
I'll stick to my tiny dog that can't reach anything and needs my help to get on most things. :)
She is a pomeranian (sp?) The groomer and the vet say she has the most beautiful coat they have seen on that breed. She is well behaved..(but it took an act of God to get her that way!) and as you can see by the puppy shot of her..she was willful. HARD to get it though her head that it was my way..and not hers! Like my children! :)

I am wondering if eating a frog like that can kill a dog? How did the frog poison get into the food dish? I imagine there are lots of things in your area that could possibly hurt an animal were they to eat it.
I lost my last little dog to snail bait. I still cry when I think of it. I will used NOTHING in my yard any more. I would rather lose the flowers then my pet.
Sorry this is so long Christer.
:) See you tomorrow...:)

Hi Joyce!
I´ve heard that wild dogs does it too and that it can have something to do with not waisting nutrients. But it´s gross anyway :-) :-)

Yes, they all seeme to be in good shape now :-) Lots of energy to create caos, so I think they are all ok now :-) :-) :-)
Have a great day now!

Hi Mona!
No I wouldn´t do that, but it felt like a proper threat at the moment :-) :-) :-)

A good thing with smaller dogs is that they can´t reach everywhere :-) :-) :-) I can imagine how and what Your doughter felt when she found out what her dog had done :-) :-) :-) But as Yiu say, small dogs are just as obstinate to get their will through too :-)

I always thought that toad poison was rather harmless, but then a friend told me that they can actully get awful cramps from it. So if they would swallow a little toad they might actully die. Terrible thought actully!

The snailbait we have over here is harmless for all other animals thank God. The other one that was dangerous is forbidden over here nowdays. The snailbait we have nowdays just makes the snail feel not hungry and then starws to death not feeling hungry all the time. It must have been terrible for You when that happened!
Take care!
Christer.

Hi Marit!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I can take autumn if we only didn´t have our dark winter. But to be honest, autumn can be really beautiful with all its colors!
Have a great day now!
