The days are getting shorter fast now. There´s daylight when I go up in the morning any longer.

First I want to thank You all for all nice comments on yesterdays blog! I´m really looking forward to this hip surgery. Especially after working properly for the first time after vacation today :-) I can really feel the difference from when I had vacation now. But soon it´ll be over :-) I and the owner also agreed on me going back to my ordinary workdays now. I don´t think that it´s especially fun sitting there Saturday and Sunday without having anything to do. Well I can surf the internet of course, but even that is a bit boring after a while :-) :-)

Yes, autumn is on its way now.

This is how it looks where they thinned out the forest last winter. Could have been much worse. Now light can come down and mushrooms will probably benefit from that I think, but also grass unfortunally.

Erna is doing really great now, she behaved like a puppy when we were going out on our little walk today :-) Jumping and having very fun with her two sons :-) If she will get problems after the snake bite it´ll show this weekend and a couple of days later. So let us all cross our fingers and hold our thumbs that nothing will happen. The pain she had on the place she was bitten is also gone now, so she´s in a great mood now!

This ditch is usually filled with water. Despite rain record this July it´s still very dry in the bog.

I´ve tried to find water hoses in the right dimensions to my pond pump and filter, but no one around has them. So now I have ordered them from the firm I bought the pump and filter from. This time we all know where the hoses will arrive :-) :-) The shipping firm did send me a mail to tell me that :-) :-) So with a bit of luck I´ll have clean water in the pond already this weekend.

This lily will only give one flower this year. Normally there are over twenty. Time to place them elsewhere perhaps?

I really like this fern, but it doesn´t grow at all. I hope it´ll make it over the comming winters.
Perhaps that isn´t such a good thing after all, then my cats can see my goldfishes all the way to the bottom and have a bigger chance to catch them :-) But they haven´t shown any bigger qualities for that yet anyway. It´s the problem getting wet at the same time as they try to catch the fishes :-) :-)

Snails eat parts of the plant that is dead or dying. The early drought have given them lots to eat now when it has rained here.

But if weather is going to be as they predicted they wount be close to the pond anyway. We will have rain most of the time if I understand them correct. But they haven´t had any luck in predicting the weather yet, so who knows :-)
Now it´s time to make dinner for tomorrow at work. I really don´t know what to do, so I´ll just look in the fridge or freezer to see what I have I think.
Have a great day now!

Good morning, Christer! :) As usual, I love your photo's. You said that the snails only eat the dead and dying part of the leaf. NOT our snails! They eat the entire plant. Marigolds are like dessert to them. I plant today and tomorrow there are only stalks. Thankfully I have not had to battle snails at this home.
I am looking forward to Fall so much this year. I missed Summer entirely and besides, Fall is my favorite time I think. All of the season are wonderful..but Fall ..is special. Watching the seasons as you photograph them has been a wonderful experience for me. I am looking forward to seeing the approach of Fall in Sweden. Thank you so much for sharing your country, your home and your wonderful knowledge of flowers and all things bright and beautiful!
I am happy to hear that Erna is back to her happy self!
I can't wait to see your pond sparkling in the sun all clean and beautiful. Think what it will look like next Spring! :)
As you can probably tell, I am doing much better..but the doctor said yesterday not to get impatient. It will probably take a few months to be totally strong again. I had to smile at that. By September...I will be ready for Fall decorating... :)

Our snails here in Florida all lost their houses to foreclosure. You can't recognize them anymore. Hey Christer, how 'bout getting the cats fishing poles? Then they don't have to get their paws wet. They won't be tracking mud back into the house after a hearty meal at the pond. Oh well. . . love the snail photo. I'm still laughing at my inside joke.

Hi Mona!
Those snails without a house, slugs I think they are called, is another thing. Most of them ar no problems, but we have gotten a snail from Spain that doesn´t have any enemies in this country. Those who have them have big problems. I know of people killing almost a thousand every night. They have big problems in their gardens. It hasn´t come to my village yet, well one has but we killed it directly when my neighbour found it in her tomatoe plant she just bought.

Fall is ok, but it gets so dark here then. Soon it´ll be dark already at 4:00 pm and the sun wount go up until after 8:00 am. Otherwise fall is wonderful with all colors and smells :-)

I´m glad to hear that You´ll get better and better! But take it slow now! Promise!
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Joyce!
I´m so happy that she is back to her old self again! But this weekend and comming days will show if it just was a temporary thing. But she´s a tough old lady :-) :-)

Now I´m just waiting for the hoses so I can put all things together and start the filter and pump. It should be here any day now.
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Christer.
