Now the season for rubber boots has started but my old ones had holes in them ( using spades and forks in the garden can be a dangerous buissness :-) :-) )so I drove to Falköping on my way home to buy a new pair. I could of course went to one of the bigger stores to buy a cheap pair, but I´m the kind of person that uses rubber boots a lot (and our klimate sort of invites us to use them a lot too), so I wanted some that will hold for a long, long time.

This stores customers are usually farmers and those that works in the forest and they doesn´t want things that doesn´t hold for only one year. Unfortunally this store also is a bit on the expensive side of the price range. But I bought me a pair of gray rubber boots that costed 799 swedish kronor (that would be around 113 US dollars or 129 Australian dollars). I better save that receipt because if they don´t hold for more than a year I will demand a new couple. I had my last pair for almost fifteen years, but those I bought at work when I worked at Volvo. They used them when they polished cars with water as aid. Volvo only have top quality for their workers!

This tree fungus looks like a house for gnomes :-)

I love deep, thick, dark green moss!

A couple of days ago one of the most spectacular robberys took place near Stockholm. our capital. The robbers got close to, or even more 100 million swedish kronor. They robbed a money depot by using a helicopter. The building was really secure towrds all directions, exept from the air. The robbers had also placed bags around the police helicopter, so they didn´t dare go near if it was a bomb.

The police has shown a great deal of incompetense by this robbery. For one thing there were no security messaures taken around the helicopter. They had been offered to have it on a military compound, where it would have been protected all hours of the day. But they turned that offer down. They new that there were going to be a big robbery and that their helicopter probably would be sabotaged. But only had an eye on it for a couple of days and then stopped with it. They had a chance to shoot the robbers helicopter down too, but hesitated to long so it had the chance to fly over peoples homes. I don´t think that it´s ok to rob anyone or anything, but I have to admire how good they had planned this thing, even if the word were around that something was about to happen.

It´s amazin actully, some mushrooms are purple too!

They will never get these robbers, on that I´m sure. Swedish police has a tendency to panik when something extraordinary like this happens. I remember when our prime minister was murdered, I don´t think any police has ever done that many misstakes at the same time.
Well, the weekend has started and as it feels like now I´m going to sleep through it :-) Perhaps wake up now and again to put in some more logs in the stove :-)
Have a great day now!

Hejsan!

Loved today's post! Such excitement that you shared! Sounds like the plot for some action thriller movie.

I'm sure Volvo only provides the best for their workers! I forgot to tell you that when I met my girlfriend in St. Louis for dinner over our Labor Day weekend, she pulled up in brand-new Vovlo sedan...it was beautiful (even if it was carrying a carseat in the back! LOL...they're the safest cares, right?!!!). I was a wee bit embarrassed after she gave me a lift to my Chrysler Town & Country minivan (with 2 carseats in the back!!!) Aaaah, the life of being a mom!!!

My favorite pic...the the "gnome house"!!!

Hi Valerie!
I´m sure of that someone already has started a novel with something like this in it :-) :-) :-)

As long as worked att Volvo they never saved a dime because they new that we needed the best to do the best! Volvo is one of the safest car one can buy, no doubt about that. It´s expensive too :-)

But here in Sweden Volvo is the most common car in the country.

My car, my Mazda, is over ten years old and I love it! Who needs a Volvo then :-) :-)

That gnome house is really strange :-)
Have a great day now!

cool gnome house. the cops sound like "the keystone cops" who were a comedy show long ago. i keep forgetting to ask you if you heard about the two amateur geologists who discovered gold in sweden. i think it happened when you were on your trip. i never heard anything more about it and wondered what was going on.

Oh you had such interesting events happening eh? Yes I think that the robbery could make a good movie.
Love the gnome house.
Thanks for the reminder about the boots...I need some.
Have a good sleep eh?

Hi Joyce!
I remember something about someome finding gold here this summer. But I haven´t heard much more after that. It´s like the time they found little diamonds on an island near Stockholm, they talked a loty about it for a month or so and then nothing. So sorry, but I have no more news there.
Have a great day now!
