I found these small mushrooms in front of my garage door. I thought they were kind of cute :-)

I´m a bit late today. I had to much to harvest on my farm at FaceBook :-) :-) Autumn has stopped for a minute or two and summer warmth has come back for a while. But trees shows more and more that autumn is here by getting red and yellow leafs. Well autumn can´t be stopped in the long run so I better enjoy the heat as long as it stays.

This is a toadstool we call insidious toadstool. Sometimes it´s toxic and sometimes it´s not. Some can eat it for years without problems, some can´t even eat it once. So why try it?

In yesterdays blog I got the feeling that I described badgers as cuddly toys, but that is ofcourse not the truth. It´s a wild animal and if cornered or threatened it can be a wild beast that one doesn´t want to deal with. But if one doesn´t surprise it and scares it, they doesn´t bother about us humans. When I had a dogyard in Gothenburg there was a badger burrow just beside the entrance to the dogyard area. I met the male badger every morning when I arrived to leave my dogs before going to work. The badgers always go the same way in almost the exact time of night, they are really nocturnal. The first time I got so scared that I jumped back into my car directly, he too got scared :-) But the more often we met, the more we stopped to care about what the other one did. So we sort of said hello to each other and he never was bothered about my dogs eaither. The last day I had that dogyard I came a bit early just to see him for the last time. They are really beautiful even if they look a bit clumsy.

The old fungi has fallen of and a new is growing on the tree on the exact same place.

Badgers are also the only wild swedish animal that we are allowed to have as a pet. Not because they are peticular fit to have as pets. The hunters lobby group is strong You see. They mean that it´s impossible to train hunting dogs to hunt badgers if they can´t have tame ones. The dogs can´t reach the badger ofcourse, but they see how a badger reacts if a dog comes down in to a burrow. Personally I think that is a cruelty towards the badger. It might not get hurt physically, but the stress it gets during this so called training must be awful.
I´ve read about people having a badger as a pet, not as a training object though, and they say it´s a wonderful animal. But it has too sleep through the winter outside. Staying inside and awake will shorten their lives dramaticly. I think I would like to have a badger :-) :-)

No one won the lottery this weekend, so now we can win even more tomorrow. I know very well that the chance to win all that money is close to nothing, but I just have to try this week too :-) I woun´t stand a chance if I don´t play :-) What to do with the money if I win? Well I know I would stop working anyway :-) But I wouldn´t buy a new house, why would I want more to clean when I think it´s boring to clean this small place and I don´t want a stranger walking around in my house to clean it either :-) I would probably become slightly insane and go through other peoples garbage too see if they have thrown away something I could use :-) :-) :-)
Tomorrow it´s Wednesday and a blog free day for me. See you on thursday!
Have a great couple of days now!

hi christer...though the odds are high for winning the lottery, someone has to win! i jnow what i would do if i won the lottery. i would build houses for people that need them. i would really like to do that. it is gloomy here today but the rain seems to be missing us. everything is sooooo dry. i've given up watering by hand. no matter how much i water it does not seem to make a difference. most leaves here are still green. i am not sure how good the fall colors will be because we need moisture for good color and we sure haven't had it. have a good wednesday off and see you on thursday! joyce

It's a fact, if you don't play the lottery you stand no chance of winning. And it's also true that to win, all you have to do is pick the winning numbers. What could be easier than that? :) Our Powerball is up to $57 million here so I will play my numbers tomorrow to keep the dream alive. Love the pictures today. I think I say that every day but some have a composition that draws me into it. As if I were there. I love the woods regardless and if I win the lottery would buy land up north where there were lots of trees. Maybe farm a few badgers now that I know they don't attack humans. I'd also have more cats.

good day Christer!

beautiful signs of the colors of autumn! you are very blessed indeed to feel the excitement of the changing seasons. here in the Philippines, since we are in the tropics, we get to have 2 major seasons in a year, the dry and wet seasons. but as we are now in the monsoon months, the rains are non-stop! floods everywhere! but i still love the rain. when you get out of the city, you see greens everywhere...

thanks for your beautiful photos! they are very refreshing and looking at them uplifts the soul indeed...i have updated my blog, thanks for your visit and following.it has given me much support! bless you..

Hi Joyce!
So true, someone has to win sometime and I hope it will be me :-)

It would be grate to build homes for those who need them. But at least over here it´s very expensive to build homes, so I´m afraid it wouldn´t be so many homes after all.

Today we have had almost summer again! But it must have been raing out in tne forest these last days, because it was really wet out there.

Here the leafs can get full color if it´s very dry too. But best colors will it be if the frost comes early.
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Z&M!
Strangly enough I have had some troubles finding the right numbers lately :-) :-) 57 millions! That would be an awful lot of swedish kronor :-) I know there were a person in Italy that won that much money a couple of weeks ago. But I´m not greedy, I´m quite happy with around 20 million dollars :-) :-)

I think I too would buy a lot of land with a lot of forest on it. Then I would take care of it like I want to. No machines when thinning the forest (forestowners has to thin their forest by law. Don´t know exact how that law is written though). Nowdays there are some people thinning forests with the help of horses and that is something I like!
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Christer.

Hi W.W!
I love the change of season, as long as it doesn´t change to winter :-) Well winter can be really nice too, but I´m not to happy about cold weather.

I can imagine that the rain is much welcome when it comes to You. here it seemes we get to much or to little. Never that much that we really wants and when we wants it :-) :-)

I´m glad that You like my pictures. They are easy to take when living like I do :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hösten börjar närma sig, färgerna börjar bli vackra. Härliga skogsbilder d ubjuder på, är så skönt att bara vandra i skogen, njuta av fågelsång.

Tack för tipset hur man lägger in bilder i inläggen.

I cannot believe how many different types of fungi growth you have in Sweden! It's amazing. Some of them look sort of scary.
Those long tall skinny ones are much like a type of mushroom or toadstool as they call them here sometimes, that we have here. Do yours have those tiny accordian pleats on the underside? Ours are pale tan with a very dark pleated underside.

Have a wonderful Thursday, Christer!!
Mona :)

Ha det gott!

Hi Mona!
I´m amazed too, this year we have loads of duffernet fungi that I haven´t seen before either :-)

Those long tall ones is really very, veru small :-) The picture lies. I was flat on the ground when taking those pictures :-)

But we have toadstools here too. The white sort is pure white everywhere on the toadstool, It´s in that way we can separate them from the edible mushrooms we have here too. So if we find a totally white mushroom we know it´s deadly poisounes. But we have a couple of other toadstools to, the most beautiful is the red one.
Have a great day now!
Christer.
