Finally my Hibiscus syriacus opened its buds and then it shows that it´s double! I didn´t want a double one! But it has at least the right color :-)

I managed to heat up my little cottage a bit to much last night. I still have 23C (73F) in the coolest place here :-) I don´t even dare to check how hot it is in my bedroom :-) I sleapt for over ten hours and that´s very unusual for me, but I still feel like taking a nap :-)

I wanted to walk by the fields this morning, the wind is strong and it feels like it blows through my head cleaning out a lot of dust :-)

This is one of the newer foxtraps they have bought. They catch foxes to see if they have gotten Sarcoptic mange (or fox mites), the foxes dies painfully if getting it. So if a fox gets in to the trap and are healthy they will soon be free again. This can easily get transferred to dogs too, but nowdays we have exelente medicine to treat that. This trap however has only cought two dogs, my neighbours small huntingdog and my Orvar :-) Orvar is actully a bit bigger than the trap, but he managed to squeeze in to it anyway :-) :-)
After that long sleep I felt like walking in the strong wind we have here today. It felt like the wind blew through my brain cleaning out a lot of dust that been there for a long time :-)Days like these I wish I lived close to the ocean. Few things are greater than to walk by the water when the winds are strong. To hear the roar from the waves and wind and to see the seagulls play way up in the air.

Well I might not have the roar from the ocean in my ears up here, but I have the roar of the winds blowing through the forest and I did see a bunch of Jackdaws playing in the winds :-)

Since very long ago I wanted to get a tattoo, but always chickened out before getting there :-) I sort of dreads the pain that comes with it :-) The funny thing is that I have a high pain threshold so it shouldn´t really bother me that much. I want some kind of dragon. I´m bourn in the year of the dragon and I learned that I am a wooden dragon according to chinese filosofy. I don´t think that seemes to be a good combination, to be a dragon and a wooden one. I mean, dragons spit fire and wood burns :-) :-) :-) Now I learned that my boss also wants a tattoo, he wants a Road runner. Well to be honest he wants a pinup, but his wife doesn´t allow that :-) :-) So now we have decided to go together. There´s a great tattoo studio rather close so now we only have to decide a day to go. But still we´re just talking about it, we have still a lot of time to chicken out :-) :-)

Home again and now some of the lilacs has also started to get autumn colors.
I think I´ll wait to start a fire in the stove today :-) But the wind i strong and the weather is cool, so maybe I´ll change my mind in an hour or two. But what ever else I´ll do today I´ll start with a pot of tea and then a small nap :-)
Have a great day now, I will!

hi christer...i have 7 tattoos. i got them back when no one had them. there was only one tattoo parlor in this town back then and now there is one on every corner! some hurt worse than others. mine are all black with no coloyceor. getting the black part hurts the most. i got one on my butt and that hurt like there was no tomorrow!!!!! you just have to get into a good mental state for it then it is not too bad. i have actually been thinking about getting some of my old ones changed and done over. great pics today!!! j

Hi Joyce!
That certanly scared the shit out of me :-) :-) I was just thinking I should have the tattoo black :-) :-)

I don´t want the tattoo artist to get blind by showing my butt :-) :-) So I´m thinking to have one on my back or my upper arm. A big black dragon with red eyes I think :-) Perhaps I like to get tattooed so much that I later get some more.

I´ll show a picture of mine when I finally get it. I´m glad You like my pictures!
Have a great day now!
Christer.

My advice: chicken out. You'll be very disappointed. Spend the money to get in your car and travel to the ocean. That's far more healthier than getting a tattoo. With any real luck you'll only suffer from blood poisoning for a night or two. I would stick with the ocean. I go there every winter and it is wonderful as you describe. That's what draws me to it. I see Kat does the same thing. We all love the ocean mist, the wild birds and the crashing of the waves. It's music to my ears. Love that double flower today Christer.

Hi Z&M!
I´m not especially worried about blood poisoning when getting a tattoo. The laws are very strickt when it comes to colors, many of the colors used outside Sweden is forbidden over here and they change nedles between every customer ofcourse. I´m more concerned about the possible pain :-)

But You are sure right about the ocean, nothing beats that!

The flower is beautiful, but I prefer the simple one :-)
Have a great day now!

It took me ten years from decision to action... It did hurt, but not that bad. Right after, I decided I wanted another one. I just had to figure out the right motive. That's ten years now, and I am still thinking... =)

Hi Helen!
Well one shouldn´t hurry such decisions :-) :-)
have a great day now!

Great Hibiskus!!!
Good to have a good night sleep & then let the wind "brush" the brain! Guess it´s rather windy at "Västgötaslätten"? We once lived on Östgöta-dito- and can remember how windy that was!...;-)
The tatoo... hm... no comments from me.... hm.....;-)

Add me in the group of tats. I have one that covers my left forearm from my wrist to my elbow. It is a blue heron standing in water along with cattails and a rising sun behind the herons head. Took 4 hours but it was worth it. I keep it out of the sun and lotion on it...after 9 years it still looks like new.
Yes there are pros and cons of getting a tat...I weighed them all. Yes it is a permanent thing and if it shows like mine does it can become a admiration by many or sneered by some. I am glad I did though.
Hey check out my comment to you on my blog about the mushrooms.
Have a gorgeous day eh?

No tatoo's here...but that should not surprise you. I don't think I either admire them or "sneer" at them. They are just something that are an individual choice. What would concern me is that I would get one I didn't like after awile..then what? I mean...I wouldn't wear the same shirt or dress day after day after day. In a while I would get tired of it...and if I couldn't take it off...it would upset me. Another thing. We take pills to take away pain and complain like crazy if we have pain...so why go out and cause yourself pain deliberately? It hurts when you have a baby..but at least in 18 years the baby goes away. :) This is a pain you suffer...and the results NEVER go away.

I have never thought much about it. I do remember my best friend used to want a rose bud..just a tiny one on her ankle. She bruises at the slightest bump and often does not even know where she got the bruises and they are horrible. Deep purples and yellows..and I knew if she tried to get a tatoo, she would be a mess. Now she is 73 years old and very glad she never got one.

Perhaps there is a bit of a stigma to tatoo's and perhaps some people DO look down on them..but those people look down on a lot of things and that is their problem. I think tatoo's are done usually when you are going through a mood of some type. When I get a feeling like that ..I just go drink a milkshake..and if I gain a pound, at least I can lose it!...and the list goes on..and on. :):)
I say, do what you like. I wouldn't..but it is my freedom of choice not to. There are a lot of things I didn't do and wish I had...and a lot of thing I have done and wish I had not, but at least I don't have to look at the results for the rest of my life... :)
One last thing. My beautiful granddaughter is a tatoo artist and a good one. She is not just pretty..she is gorgeous with seafoam green eyes and has a lovely models figure...and at one time moved toward becoming a model. But...she was artistic and met someone who was into the business and began to train.
You should see her body. Her lovely legs are now completely covered with a "saying" that wraps around and around her legs. She has them everywhere but her face. It can become addicting...and I KNOW Christer this is not what you are intending..but I just wanted you to know that I know a bit about tatooing and do not look down on it. It's a choice. A permanent one. Think about it carefully. Sorry to go on and on about something that is NONE of my business. Whatever your choice...I will be happy if you are happy. That is what is important.
Grandma Mona :)

Hi Nina!
I live on the absolute edge of Västgötaslätten, so it´s not as bad here as around Vara and Skara :-) I have all this forest protecting us from most of the wind, but sometimes it´s bad enough as it is :-) :-)

Have a great day now!

Hi Diane!
It sounds like Your tattoo looks wonderful! Blue herons are so beautiful!

I would treat my eventual tattoo much the same. I can´t be unprotected to long in the sun because I have big spots without pigmentation on my body, vitiligo its called.

I also once got malignant melanoma (they took it real early so there it was never any danger to me), so I´m not allowed to sunbathe either. Couldn´t be better life for a tattoo :-) :-) :-)

I have really thought through the pros and cons and decided the pros is bigger :-) So if I and my boss can get tough enough there will be a tattoo :-)

I think it was a good idea not to use those mushrooms :-) :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Mona!
Well, since I wrote about my perhaps comming tattoo here it sort of is Your buissness :-)

I look on tattoes as a piece of art really, not as clothes. Thinking of it that way there´s nothing strange to have on day after day.

When I grew up it was only sailors and criminals that had tattooes, but then it turned and started to becom a every person thing. I think my generation was cought in a gap between those different groups. That´s why I´ve sort of never got my back out of the carrige (swedish saying :-) )

I´ve never understood those who tattooed their faces or hands. So if I get a tattoo it´ll probably be on my upper arm or shoulder. But we still have to decide to do it :-) :-)
Take care grandma Mona:-)
