My Cattleya hybrid has started to bloom now. It´s a shame it smells so bad :-)

It´s even colder outside today and this night it´ll be even worse. As long as I can stay out of the winds it´s bareble though. My dogs however loves the cold winds. Hector loves them most of all. He has the same warm fur as his grandmothers father that was a NewFoundland. He thinks all temperatures over freezing point is to warm :-)

Since the hunt still is going on today I had to walk by the fields. There is an old well not far from my cottage and I like to see if there ever is some water in it nowdays. But the walls in it has fallen down long ago. Sonowdays a birch grows up from it. Further down grows a fern too. I wonder hopw long ago they used it daily.

They were going to have negotiations at work today, but some information were not there? so they will start on thursday again. People are getting more and more nervous now and all they seeme to talk about is what they think is going to happen. I try to tell them that there is no use to speculate over things we don´t know anything about or can in any way affect until we get some answers. But even if they agree they start to speculate seconds after. I feel so sorry for them, some people have troubles sleeping now.

But here in my little cottage all is calm and nice. There´s a fire in the stove, my dogs sleep in my bed together with Bertil the cat. Teodor is sleeping on the couch in my livingroom. I think I´ll make some sandwiches with cheese, meatballs and perhaps liver pate. Perhaps those sandwiches will take a tour into the oven too? Warm sanwiches, a cup of tea and a good book is a great end of the evening I think!
Have a great day now, I will :-)

Hi Atia*!
Welcome to my blog!
I do like this one, but unfortunally it smell much like cat urin :-) :-) Perhaps it would be a nicer smell if it flowered outside?

Det går bra att skriva på svenska här också om du hellre känner för det.
Have a great day now!
Christer.

hi christer...i have boxwood hedges that smell like cat pee. ewww!!! your sandwiches always sound so good. what kind of cheese do you eat? i am trying to think of what kind of swedish cheese we have here. we have tilsit but i think that is norwegian. we have gedost. is that swedish? we also have havarti which i love and i think is swedish. it is perhaps my favorite cheese. especially when it is made with caraway seed. we are having very high winds coming off the ocean tonight. the house is shaking and it is very cold. i am loving it! joyce

I love your pictures Christer, so mood provoking. I agree your sandwhich sounds amazing. How do you 'put it in the oven to heat up?

Christer.

Hi Joyce!
Yes boxwood smells awful too :-) When I had my gardencenter people wanted Christmas decorations in boxwood and I hated it :-)

I´ve tried to find the english names on some of our cheeses, we usually give things new names when sending it abroad, but haven´t found any yet. But some swedish names on popular cheeses is Herrgård, Grevé and Svecia. Havarti is danish and I love it. The smell however is another thing :-) :-) There´s a milder sort called Danbo if You like Havarti kind of cheeses.

-8,4 degrees here this morning and the frost stayed all day! Not my kind of day :-)
have a great day now!
Christer.

That is -8,4 centigarde, not fahrenheit :-)

Hi Aussimade!
Thanks! I´m glad You like my pictures!

I just put them in the bottom of the oven on a plate. I like the cheese not to melt too much, so they are just allowed to start to bubble :-)
Have a great day now!

hi christer.....cupcakes are so popular in the US now that my town has about 10 cupcake stores. people serve them at their weddings instead of traditional wedding cakes. they are great because they are like having one piece of cake. they come in sooooo many different flavors too. it sure is cold here today too. joyce
