.

I bought a new camera yeaterday and I´ve been trying it in all different ways now. It works very much like my old one, but we don´t agree all the time :-) But I´ve made You a little video this morning down by the creek. I had already figured out what to say, but as soon as I stepped out on that little bridge it all went out my ears I think :-) But better videos will come I hope :-)

All pictures below has been taken with my new camera.
It´s hard to belive that these small seedlings will become big rhododendrons. How do they survive in the wild?

We have a very mixed weather here this morning. Cloudy with drizzle, sunny with cold winds or every thing in between. It´s to warm to have a sweater, but it´s to cold to go without one. I thought that I should cut the grass today, but it´s to wet in the grass to do that now and more rain is on its way they say. So I´ll just take it easy all day instead :-)

Finally the cows have come to the field outside my cottage. I love cows and has always done so.

Isn´t the sky beautiful? I had prefered sun though :-)

Our song in The Eurovision song contest is now in the final on Saturday :-) Also the Finnish and the Islandic song went on to the final :-) So tonight in the second semi final we hold our thumbs and crosses our fingers for the Norwegian song, it´s really good!

The Cowslip has also a read colour variety and I like that even more than the ordinaru yellow.

My favourite trillium. This one always gives a lot of seeds and last winter I spread them in the new part of my woodland. It may take some years until they germinate though.

This Aquilegia only gets 10cm /4 inches) high.

By the way, I found three of my socks now :-) They were scattered all over the place, so now I´ll only have to find the rest of them :-) Well thats it for today I think. My throat is sore and my head is acing so I think I´ll take a little nap. Hopefully I feel better afterwards.
Have a great day now!

My Soldanella has opened its flowers.

Christer,

The home video was a nice first effort, brings your yard to us and that is very good to see. We get to walk with you now on your morning walks with the dogs. Do I detect a British accent? Glad you found some of your socks. And I thought the cows had calves. Didn't we see some still shots in other posts of new borns? So I think your first professional video assignment is to capture that Fox on the new camera. That would be something. Have a great weekend.

Hi Z&M!
I´ve only made two videos before so I´m quite happy with this one, even if I forgot what I had thought of saying :-)

I do have a brittish accent, but I´ve only been to an english speaking country one time in my life. That was when I was one year old and followed my dad when he was working as a sailor, but I don´t think I caught any english then :-) :-)

I don´t think those cows has any calves this year, but it doesn´t look as they are especially old.

That fox! I think I´ll have to sit up all night out in the forest to get something, anything with that fox :-) :-)
Have a great day now!

Christer,
A man of the Earth - I like that. You would love where I live in the US. Vermont, next to the Canadian border, is very rural and the people are great. Thank you for your reply at CatintheHat as well! I look forward to visiting your blog in the future.
Brad

A good video and your pictures are always good the new camera seems a good fit for you. Thanks for sharing your walks by the creek it is a very pleasent place to walk and the dogs seem to enjoy it there also. Where are you going to put all those rhododendrons?

Christer.

Hi Woody!
Yes, down by the creek it´s wonderful. The dogs always has a lot to sniff around at there and I enjoy the calmness and quietness.

I read the manual to the camera now and that didn´t say much. But I got a cd that tells more they say in the manual.

Most of those rhododendrons are probably going to die by them selves. Only the strongest and those who has the best qualities for our climate will survive. But I´ll do my best to make so many as possible survive.
Have a great day now!
Christer.

hi crister......yeah for the new camera!!! i love the video! you have a great voice too! i just got a new camera too. it is a canon rebel xsi. i am not good with technology and i hate reading manuals so it will be a while until i figure everything out. as far as making your raised bed i have a bit of advice. if you have the tools make them yourself. initially i thought i was only putting in 2 beds so i bought kits. i thought it would be cheaper than buying the tools i would need to make them. as you can see i now have added more and at this point it would have been cheaper to buy the tools. if you need more precise instructions just ask! joyce

Hi jaz!
I was looking for a canon too, but this shop didn´t have many of those. I trust them highky though so when he suggested the one I bought, a Sony Cybershot W120, I bought that instead. It works much just the same as my old one too, so that helps a lot!

Yes, I was thinking of making them myself so I can adjust the hight a bit after how tall I am. When I start making them I will surly ask You a lot :-)
Have a great day now and thanks for the advice!

Christer...I think I am as delighted with your new camera as you are!! The pictures are great..and I was MORE than delighted with video. I think I yelled when I turned it on. Hearing your voice for the first time was wonderful. Now I could put a voice to the posts! Everything just comes alive!
The dogs! They are just wonderful! Seeing them moving about..was such an experience. I have not used the video on my camera yet..but you have encouraged me to try! The photo's of the flowers and woodland come alive..and now the video!! Please do make more. Don't worry about what you will say..just be you!
~smiles~
Mona
p.s. and the socks! I am glad you are finding them!

The cottage by the Cranelake said...

Hi Mona!
I really like the new camera, now we just have to start to cooperate a little bit better :-) :-)
It´s fun to make a little video and I can tell You that the little bridge is about to fall appart totally :-) I wouldn´t have got hurt if falling down, but I would probably get stuck in the mud really firmly :-) :-)

Now when I know how to put my video on YouTube and get it directly in to my blog there will be more videos. It takes a very long time to download it on YouTube though. But try it! It´s much easier than one thinks!

Now I only hope that I´ll find the rest of my socks too :-) :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

I was so happy when I went to your blog and found a video. It was wonderful to hear your voice and to see the dogs on their adventure. I can't wait for more. Are you going to grow vegetables in your new raised beds?

Regards - Linda in Chapel Hill

Christer,
The video was wonderful. I got to walk with you, meet your dogs and hear your voice. Now you are much more than a picture.

As always your flower pictures are amazing.

Oj, så rolig video med vovvarna! De så verkligen ut att undra vad du sysslade med.
Visst är det märkligt med alla små frön som till slut blir stora träd eller buskar. Just rododenrdonsådder är extra spännande.
Hoppas att du blir snart riktigt skicklig med din nya kamera. De flesta kameror klarar av närbilder, men det är helhetsbilderna jag saknar t.ex. i min egen fotogrfafering - de är inte så lätta att få till./Anja

Hi Linda!
It is rather fun to make these little videos :-) I have made two more early in my blogwriting here, but they were made with my mobile phones and the quality is there after.

First I have to make a wall greenhouse so I can place my tomatoe plants in there, after that I might start with raised beds. At least the first years there will be vegetables in them. It´s so much easier to get rid of weeds if the bed is a bit raised I think, because there will come weeds soner or later I´m afraid even then :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Kat!
Thanks! It is rather fun to make little videos :-) Now I only have to figure out if I can pause the recording and continue from anothet place. I tried that with this one, but instead of pausing I stopped and started a new video every time :-) :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Christer.
