Finally they have opened up! My tree paeonys are of course big favourites of mine. But they don´t show their true colour until they have come up in age. The two I have of this sort was deep purple when young, now when older they are almost white and therefore, by some reason I don´t understand, more desirable by most people.

Summer is here again today and will stay until Tuesday if they are guessing right. There´s still a wind blowing, but now it´s so weak that the flies made lawn mowing awful. It´s not the bloodsucking monsters yet but those who only wants to get in to ones ears and nose to check what can be in there. But on the positive side the swallows has arrived to the village :-)

Cerastium tomentosum also called "Snow in summer plants" in english. If You have a dry, sunny and hot space where nothing else will grow, test this one. It covers hugh areas fast and flowers all summer.

I took a nap earlier today. I woke up already at 6:30 and really tired and irritated. I wonder what I had been dreaming of? My dogs realised that I was awake so they made sure that I got up too :-) But when I tried to take a nap suddenly I could feel the smell of fried potatoes. It´s impossible to sleep then, so I just lay there listening to the birds and smelling the potatoes :-) That was when I heard the typical sort of screaming sound of the swallows. I hope they´ll nest over my window this year too. They make a mess but that doesn´t matter.

The bumble bees are working hard now and don´t care if I come close with the camera.

Even if I really like the flowers on my tree paeonys usually my favourite flowers are quite small. Like on this geranium, Geranium phaeum or "Mourning widow" in english.

I could heare all kinds of birds and insekts flying just outside my bedroom window and my cats playing around undernieth it. But then I suddenly felt the smell of hamburgers getting fried and then it was impossible to stay in bed :-)

Violettes in different colours are popping up all over my garden. Some call them weed but I let them stay where they grow.

The 'Portal' is now closed in the top and behind it a world of magik begins.

They called from work today too. They have gotten something to paint that shall have the same finish on the surface as a car. We don´t have that kind of equipment to do a job like that, so they had borrowed it from someone. The problem is that they don´t know how to adjust the equipment so it works. It´s impossible to help by phone and the painter had no time to stay so I could go there and have a try with it. So that´ll be my job tomorrow. I did paint at Volvo once but that´s over twelve years ago :-) But the main problem is to make the equipment to work at all. So cross Your fingers or hold Your thumbs as we do in Sweden so I can get this thing work tomorrow.
Have a great day now!

My fingers are crossed for you as I race out the door to buy some of that "summer snow" . . . what a wonderful flower. Would make a great ground cover for my edge by the woods. It looks really inviting and I wonder if it gives off a fragrance?? Of the flowers you posted today, which ones do offer a fragrance? Just curious. Have you put any miles on the piglet yet? Have a good one Christer.

Hi Z&M!
It can cover a really big area in a short time, so plant it so You can go over it with the lawn mower on areas You don´t want it at. Had to go out to feel if it smelled, but sorry no.

The tree paeony have a nice fragrance. But this sort You see in my picture needs a cold winter to be able to flower. But there are other species, also with fragrance, that can live in Florida. A good gardencenter can help You there. Nowdays there is a name caos amongst tree paeonys so I can´t help You with names even if I know some species that can live at Yours.

I´ve put a lot of miles behind me in Piglet :-) I really like that car :-)
have a great weekend now!
Christer.

I love your flower pictures. The roses have bloomed and the cannas are coming up but no luck with the stuff I have planted yet.

Your violettes look like something we call johnny jump ups here. I love those flowers. We actually have to plant them here though. Good luck with your work tomorrow. I will have both thumbs held.

Har buskpionen ändrat färg så totalt! Det var intressant. Jag är så svag för dessa storslagna skönheter...skulle gärna vilja ha fler än en.
Ha en bra helg!

don't they use electro-coating to paint cars. that's where they put a charge in the paint to make it adhere to the metal i think? i loved all the pics! still trying to understand the new lens..groan! joyce

Hi Chelle, nice to se You here again!

My roses still have buds and it will take some time until they bloom here.

The johnny jumps (we don´t call them that here) is probably hybrids from old pansys and vild violettes here. They can turn up anywhere and self sows rather much. I hope the yellow and whit turns up this year too. It almost looks like a little bush and is filled with flowers :-)
Have a great day now!

Hi joyce!
Some of the car makers have started with electro coating. But there has always been a problem with the thickness of the coating when doing that. But new tecnology has made it possible to get really good finish on the coating.

I use that tecnology in my ordinary job, but with old tecnology. So that coating is only good enough for farming equipment and such things.

Hope You can figure out how the lens works!
Have a great day now!

Hej Katarina!

Jag blev allt lite förvånad nu när den blev vit! Trodde först den skulle bli rosa.

I år hoppas jag att det blir lite fröer från dem, det har det inte blivit hittills.
Ha det gott!
Christer.

I KNEW where you live would become a wonderland in Springtime. It is just beautiful Christer...HOW I missed a day I have no idea but somehow I did..so I am catching up.
Seems I spend a lot of time catching up with visits! :)
I am leaving some beautiful blooming clover at the side of the house. The flowers are white and yellow and just beautiful..and like you, I know they are weeds but I love them so let them stay!

Hi Mona!
It´s hard to always keep up with all blogs one must read! So it´s just natural to miss one once in a while.

As long as anything is beautiful it´s welkome at my garden. But thara are a few plants that I fight against even if they are beautiful :-) I´ll probably have some pictures of them later this summer.
Have a great day now!
Christer.
