My dogroses flowers so nice now.

Today I woke up to the news that Michael Jackson had died. A lot can be said about him and what he had done during his life, But for today let us just remember him for the great artist he was. Down here You can se my own personal favourite.

Rosa multiflora. Every single flower is rather small but there are loads of them. In warmer climats this is a weed worse than most. I know that it in some states in the US is forbidden since it spreads so fast and there for kills a lot of other wild plants, especially other wild roses.

I finally dared to take my tomatoe plants outside yesterday. The risk of frost should now be over but even if we now have hot sunshiny days with up to 28C (82F) we still have nights with temperatures as low as 5C (41F). A mighty high pressure will keep those cold and rainy lowpressures from Amerika away from us at least until next weekend :-) I was going to build a wall greenhouse but the winds are so strong every day that it would be difficult to secure so it wouldn´t fly away. If I´m to build one it has to be a more heavy and permanent than the one I had in mind.

Clematis 'The President'.

Clematis integrifolia.

I think this is clematis 'Nelly Moser'.

I haven´t come any thurther on my pond. I have to buy a bubbel level (or spirit level, I´m not sure if they both are correct) so that the edges on the pond are at the same hight. Wouldn´t look nice if one could see the rubber on some places around the pond. I have also looked at pumps and filters to the pond. I´ve decided that I´ll by that from the same firm I bought the rubber carpet. The pumps are easy to chose from, there are three different that would be perfect, but the filters are more difficult to decide between. There is a couple that is very advanced and there fore expensive. But with any of those there will be less problems with algie in the water. But on the other hand, I´m not going to have a lot of big fishes in the pond, just a couple of small ones that will eat all mosquito larvi. So I think I´ll chose the cheaper ones instead, but I´ll have to talk to that firm before buying anything.

Now it´s time to go away to buy that bubbel level. It´s to hot already to do anything in the garden, so the rest of the day I´ll just take it easy and drink a lot of pots with tea :-)
Have a great day now, I will:-)

This is how far I come with the pond.

Oooooh, I get to be the first to comment and welcome you back! Hope you enjoyed your break from blogging...looks like you enjoyed your garden and the yard!

As I type this, I am TOTALLY enjoying listening to the You Tube video you posted. You did a great job paying tribute to the King of Pop. I'm going to try and dig out an old photo that I have of my 13th birthday (1983). Thriller had been out for a year and that was on my birthday wish list. The photo is hilarious (b/c my mother always photographed our birthday stash...I used to think that was so corny and now I'm much more appreciative)! It shows my Thriller Album on display, my turtleneck with tiny navy blue whales (were those turtlenecks popular in Europe in the 80s with the little objects all over them?...mostly women wore them during the "preppy" era) along with my kelly green monogrammed wool sweater...you get the picture...Preppy 101, vintage 1980s!

On another note, your flowers are beautiful as usual. I laughed at the name of the clematis (The President) b/c the blue color is striking similar to the blue color coined "IBM blue" of the iconic business computer corp. giant. During my college years, I spent two summers interning at IBM and when cakes were ordered for special occasions (marketing dept.) we actually told the bakery to use "IBM blue". Very similar color!

Okay, enough of my ramblings. I must get my home in tip top shape as my mother is coming for a visit from St. Louis today!

Have a wonderful weekend,
Valerie

P.S. I turned 14 in 1983...hence my school-girl love affair with Michael Jackson...B.W. (before-weirdness ensued!)

Hi Valerie!
I did enjoy my garden during my little break, but mostly from indoors. The sun is shining, it´s really hot and the wind is close to gale. It´s like walking under a hot hairdryer outsid. Everything dries up fast now and as long as the wind blows as har as now there´s nu use watering here. It´ll dry up immediatly.

I and fashion don´t go together but I di remember those turtle necks :-) My mother was so happy because sha had saved all hers from when they were popular before :-) And I do remember that there were only one coloured. You have to show that picture on Your blog!

Your absolutely right, that blue color is almost exactly like IBM:s :-)

Today we only remember Jackson for the artistery, we can remember all the rest later I think! We´ll still talk about him in years to come I think :-)
Have a great day now!

That's a really good video of Michael, thanks. I like it. Also I see where the cat is making great progress on the pond. The flowers are beautiful and I'm glad you're back. It is sad that a great artist like MJ dies young. I am betting today we find it had something to do with drugs or taking too many meds. It sounds a little like "Elvis, What Happened".

Hi Z&M!
I thought Teodor should place the rubber carpet in the dug out area tomorrow, but he hasn´t got a chance to use the bubbel lrvel yet because of the strong winds we have and have had these last days :-) :-)

Jackson probably ate to many medicines and perhaps other drugs so I wouldn´t be surprised if that was what killed him. I think that despite the fame and success he had his life was truly sad. But today I´ll only remember him as the great artist he was!
Have a great day now!

Hi joyce!
Thought it might be something like that he died from. Hope he´s happier where he is now!

I´m glad to be back :-) But sometimes one has to catch up with other stuff too :-)

Now I only have to use my bubbel level and make the edges come in the same hight, then it´s almost done :-)
Have a great day now!

Hi, dear friend ...
... once upon a time, Michael and the likes of your flowers, that brilliently reflect the beauty of his creativity, were one in the same ...

You nailed this w/your choice of videos!
Well done, Christer!

Your friend, GeeGee

The clematis are beautiful! I wish I could see some of that color here at the house.

My dogs dig holes like that. I wonder if I could get them to dig a bigger hole so that we could put in a pond...

:)

Hi Tara!
I didn´t like that clematis in the beginning, but nowdays I wouldn´t want to be without it.

My dogs too :-) I should have used one they had already dug :-) But they were all in the wrong places :-)
Have a great day now!

It looks like a wonderful start on your pond. I once found a site from a woman in Ireland and watched her build a pond. Wish I could find it..I think you would enjoy it...and if I do I will send it..or tell you where to find it.
It's really fun to watch. I have to be satisfied with my little fountains. :)

The color of blue in those flowers is like no blue I have ever seen I think...There are things in nature that defy being reproduced by man!

Michael. I think he is one of the greatest music entertainers of our time. Even as a child...and I watched him grow up...he was so very special and it was evident from an early age. It wasn't supposed to be this way. He should have outlived me!! Thank you for sharing that video...thanks a lot.

Hi Mona!
I´ll continue on the pond now on Thursday if it´s not to hot. Time to make the edges on the pond at the same hight. I can tell You that my cats find it fascinating :-) I think they like to be at the bottom now when it´s so hot. Much cooler down there.

I agree, it´s a fantastic blue color on those flowers, not often one finds flowers so blue.

Michael Jackson was a big artist, no doubt about that! His personal life was a mess though, but he never got the chanse to be a child. My personal feeling is that children must be allowed to be children as long as possible. Unfortunally for him, his parents didn´t think so.
have a great day now!
Christer.
