It´s raining outside. A calm gentle kind of rain that it would have been nice to take a walk in if it had been a bit warmer outside. But I can´t find an umbrella anywhere and my green rain jacket was chewed on by mice this winter, so I had to throw it away. The strong winds that the weather man talked about yesterday hasn´t come to us anyway, but it´s early morning yeat so who knows.
The White rose of Finland.
The "Dog crackers" grows en masse beside all roads. Strange name we have on them, I´ve never seen a dog eating them.
Days like these are perfect to just take it easy and ready books I think and I would probably done so today, but my friends son graduated from High school yesterday and I promised to come today to celebrate him. They had many enough guests yesterday as it was so I told them I rather come today instead. It´s tough times to graduate now. There are no jobs to get and if there were any the demands they have to employ anyone is impossible to reach. For some reason You have to be young, but still have really many years of experiense in the area for the job. Those two demands are impossible to combien to be honest.
It was another thing when I graduated. They needed people everywhere. If one didn´t have all the scills they wanted to get the job, they simply told us that we could learn during working there. I was only going to work a year or two and then continue the studying. I wanted to be a vetrinarian and didn´t have the grades I needed to get in to that education directly. But after being at Volvo a couple of years I got used to the money and stayed there instead. So I never became a vet but I sure have payed so much by going to the vets with my animals I probably paid all their education instead :-) :-)
When the common Lilac stops blooming the Hungarian takes over. This one doesn´t spread as much as the common one.

Christer, you would have made a fine vet and maybe it's still possible. Jobs are scarce everywhere, people complain all the time where I am. I attended two graduation ceremonies this past week and the kids are the same here as over there, nothing planned for the Summer. Most just hanging out till it's time to go off to College. The lucky ones, that is. Times are tough for most people now. I love that white flower you posted. And the dog crackers . . . wow . . . over here we call them weeds.
Hi Z&M!
It´s to late for me to become a vet, but I´m happy anyway.
Even summerjobs are impossible to get now, so I hope they have fun all summer instead :-)
The rose is beautiful and smalls so nice! Usually I only have wildroses in my garden, like dogroses. But this one is as simple to have as them so it´s permitted into my garden :-) We call Dog crackers weed to, but they are welcome in my garden. They sort of fits well with all other flowers.
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Christer,
I am totally in awe of the color of Iris setosa and Beachhead iris. They are magnificent.
Hi Kat!
I hoped that the I. setosa and beachhead iris was the same thing :-)But the I. setosa has a wide spectrum of blue colour. I think that the darker one will open up tomorrow, I´ll take a picture of it then it opens.
Have a great day now!
Christer.
hi christer...i just remembered i was supposed to take pictures of the ponds. i will do that as soon as i finish typing. we have a leak and now one seems to know where it is...grrrrrrrr!!!!!! my kids are in their mid 20's. my daughter has a nice job and my sone has returned to school for another degree. all of their friends are working in coffee shops and the like because there are no jobs. when i was young if you went to college you were certain to find a job. it was all about rising up the ranks and making a million bucks. not now!! these kids all went to the top universities and they are lucky to get these coffee shop jobs. it is a crazy world. my daughter lives in my guest house and my son lives in a house i bought two doors away. i still feed them almost every day too. it is just the way things are now. it works for me because i love having them around!!! when they were off at university i was miserable! joyce
Hi joyce!
It´s no hurry with the pictures. I can´t start digging until next week anyway. The pond carpet didn´t arrive today and the weather doesn´t invite to start digging :-) :-)
Yes it´s hard times for everyone nowdays (exept for mothers that can have their children close at home then :-) :-) ). Anyone that can get any job is lucky these days.
But I think that, if I wasn´t dependent of the paycheck, I would love to work in a coffee shop.
have a great day now!
Christer.
:)What kind of work would you do in a coffee shop? Sorry, I cannot picture that. I worked in one in 1955 and am still not over it! LOL
Your pictures of flowers are just gorgeous! The white rose of Finland is beautiful..as they all are! My flowers are getting so pretty...I bought a gorgeous white blooming Jasmine today, already in a pretty pot..and put it on the front porch...I love it.
A storm! How I would love to have a storm here...I mean a REAL storm..at least every now and then...
~smiles~
Mona
Hi Mona!
I think I would talk with customers all the time :-) :-)
Jasmines can´t live outside here (well a pot in summer works, but usually they die in winter inside instead), so we have mock oranges instead. Mine is close to bloom now, just a couple of days more :-)
The wind that always comes with the rain can go somewhere else :-) But we sure did need the rain. There´s still no water in the smaller creeks though so we should have some more rain to fill them.
Have a great day now!
Christer.
