Fireweed ( Epilobium angustifolium) . This plant is said to have over onehundred and twenty names in swedish :-)

It´s too hot to write anything today :-) Until just recently there were no wind at all and even my cats sounded like the dogs :-) Not even my dogs wants to take a walk right now. But the wind has come back so maby they will in an hour or so.

This bush, Spiraea japonica (Japanese meadowsweet), doesn´t live in the wild here in Sweden originally. But it seemes to like our climate so now it can be found at many places.

I know the name on this bulb, but I just can´t get it out of my head :-) Grows in northern America and Native Americans used it as food.

Hector showed signs that there was something inside the factory that he didn´t like today, so maybe we weren´t alone as I thought we were. I tend not to go inside at all if I musn´t since last time there were someone there, but at my lunchbreak I have to go inside and sit in the airconditioned office we have at my departement. I don´t care if I see loads of people there then if it´s as hot as it is today :-) They can do what they want as long as I can sit in that cooler office :-)

The Musk mallow (Malva moschata) grows in the wild here, but we have it in our gardens too. They can be pink or white.

These two snails was on a rubarb leaf at work. The smaller one is a normal sized one. The other one is almost twice as big. I´ve never seen such a big one before.

Had to show You these two small once to, just a couple of millimeters long.

So now I leave You until tomorrow with some pictures taken earlier today.
Have a great day now!

The japanese climbing rose has just started to open their flowers now. Small but many!

i don't know if i would like your weather very much! it seems it is either too cold, too wet or too hot!!! i love those snail pics. i don't think we have snails like that here. we have slugs though and they get pretty big. when i see one i throw it out on the patio and within minutes a bird has carried it away. i guess you don't have air conditioning at home do you? is air conditioning rare in swedish homes?

Hi joyce!
:-)
The weather has changed these last few years. Of course we have always had these really hot days before, but nowdays it changes so dramticly. As I remember it was more stabile before. Two years ago the winter didn´t start until late Mars, before that we had had almost no frost at all that winter.

This year we had summer heat alredy in April, but chilly cold after that. The wind never seemes to stop, only for short periods. So we definatly can see the climate change here. But I still wount say that I don´t want this heat :-)

We´ve never have had any use for airconditioning over here before, so yes they are rare.

But on the other hand, it happens that we never get much heat through all summer too :-) I remember one year when it was 10C (50F) on midsummer and 12C (54F) on New years eve :-)

We have problems all over Europe with slugs nowdays. The Spanish forest slug is a pest here. In Spain it´s no problems with it. Their animals knows how to eat them, they are very slimy You see. Here the animals hasn´t understood how to get rid of all the slime and that slime is reallu sticky. It´s very hard to wash of Your hands if getteing it on them.

So since no animals eat them they multiply enormously. I know some places where they kill over thousand every night.

We´ve tried everything without big success. If we´re unlucky we´ve got it in our village now. My neighbour found one in her gardenhouse. The only thing she had bought was a tomatoe plant and that´s enough. We hope she got it before it laid any eggs. So croos Your fingers for that!
Have a great day now!
Christer.

"Fireweed"? I find that rather a strange name for such a fragile and pretty flowering plant. I think someone misnamed it. Wouldn't you think from the sound that it would be robust and yellow and red and like a fire? The other plants names make sense. For naming plants that is and flowers. But I like it. The coloring is quite beautiful. Thanks for posting it.

I am always awed by the wonderland you live in, Christer. How I would like to have a Japanese climbing rose all over the side of my home and along the wall. Watching the Winter melt away...and Spring burst through and now summer and the plethora of flowers around you...I love it. I wish California was like that. It's the variety of flowers that just grow wild that I love!

What? You mean you don't decorate?? LOL :) I'm sorry but the thought of you with a polka dot "cloche" in your little cottage makes me smile. TOOO funny!
I picture your cottage as functiional. Things hanging where you can grab them as you go out the door...and things within reach..a place where man and animals can kick back and be comfortable..no doilies, or faux flowers...or pink pillows..etc. etc.
Makes me smile. Thanks for your comments...but..I bet you liked my large red mug that I found at that garage sale...right? Me too!
Smiles..
Mona

If You all wonder, the comment removed weren´t in any way bad, but there was an e-mail adress there and it´s so easy for spamprograms to get them if they are in comments here. That´s whay the comment is removed, nothing else.

Hi Z&M!
The english name has nothing to do with its colors. The Fireweed is one of the first to grow after fires You see :-)
But I agree, it´s beautiful but a terrible weed to get into the garden. The white sort is nicer though.
Have a great day now!

Hi Mona!
It a bit dramatic when the seasons change here, so everything really becomes beautiful when it changes. Spring especially, but a good autumn is great too with all its colors :-)

At good and rare times things are funktional here, but usually it´s most a mess all around the house :-) :-) At work it´s a different thing though. Order, order, order! If things aren´t where they are supposed to be I´m really mean to those3 who made a mess in my workspace :-) After two years they have learned that :-)

And yes, I really like Your red mug :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Christer.
