A sad day for Sweden!

The election didn´t go my way at all yesterday. I can take that the government won once again, we just have to work harder showing how hard they treat sick people so we can win next time- But what I do have big troubles with is that we now have a racist party in the parliament. I´m ashamed being swedish today!

They got the votes from people that is dissatisfied with our politicians. Surveys has shown that immigration issues wasn´t especially important this election and other surveys shows that most Swedes actually looks upon immigration as a positive thing. So they voted on this party because they wanted to stir in the pot so to speak. Idiots! There are other smaller parties they could have voted on then! But now things are like they are. The government didn´t get a majority of its own, neither did the opposition. Neither of them will collaborate with this party so there´s a big risk we´ll have a new election soon.

You´ll have to click on this photo to make it bigger! I´ve made it a bit bigger than normal here because I want You to see the raindrops too. All photos gets bigger if You click on them!

Now to something completely else. I´m going a course in negotiations technique this week and today we´ve tried to learn all difficult words they use in all deals made during negotiations. I have to say that I most likely will have to have a dictionary with me when I´ll start with this :-) :-) :-) Only because a word might have a special meaning in the "real" world doesn´t mean it has the same meaning in different deals :-) :-) :-)

I told the factory owner that if I now have been chosen to be the head of union at work I´ll do everything I can to become a real good one too. I´m not sure he liked that at all :-) :-) :-) Another good thing with this is that a get to know other in my situation from other factories. The more people I know the better help I can get when I need it and can help back if someone needs it too.

This one is also a must click on photo for the same reason.

Now its here, the forest machine that will cut down the trees. Much earlier than I thought it would.

The sun shined almost all day today, well at least until I drove home. The clouds got thicker and the wind started to blow. The rain started when my dogs and I were out in the forest. It was much the same yesterday too when we were out walking, except for that the sun shined some of the time then. This weather is perfect for the Moose fly. I hate Moose flies and tried to take some photos of them when they landed on me. But the panic got to me and I just couldn´t stand still long enough to take a photo.

Moose flies can´t drink human blood, but that doesn´t mean that they don´t bite and that hurts a lot! They fly to a moose or deer and digs down like a tick and then they drop their wings too. Their legs are made like hooks so it´s very difficult to brush them of from clothes or hair. Hit them hard and they´ll just laugh You in the face! Sometimes they get down into the hair and stays calm, until it gets dark. I have woken up many times when I´ve felt one or two of them crawling around in my hair at night! So every time I come home I use a comb and combs my hair. A brush isn´t good enough to get them out of the hair You see. Just thinking about them makes the hair on my arms to stand right up. But they aren´t especially common thankfully and their season is short, but I still really hate them!

I wonder if the barn owner knows he has a pot of gold in there :-) :-)

It´s rather cold outside now and the rain is falling. I´ve started a fire in the stove and soon I´ll have something to eat and a cup of tea by my side.
Have a great day now!

Hi Chister!

I was able to see the raindrops in the photos, and the sun was shining. There is an old wives' tale that if it rains while the sun is shining, it will rain again the next day. Always love your photos of all the mushrooms - the while one with all the spiky things are really cool. The rainbow is beautiful, but the Moose flies sound just horrible!

Peace,
Chris..........

Hi Christer,
Lovely rainbow. Is it shining on the garage that's in the process of being built? He could probably use the pot of gold then.

Global warming must be doing something to voter's brains. They seem to be shooting themselves in the foot all over the world. They will vote for any one who is not currently in and it doesn't matter what the party stands for. We live in interesting times, I'm afraid.

The sunflower is still looking good. Have a great day.

Hi Chris!

We have exactly the same saying over here. The photo was taken yesterday and I can tell you that the rain is pouring down outside right now :-) :-)

I just hate these moose flies!!!! I even like the horse flies better and that says a lot :-) :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Caryn!
It was so beautiful that rainbow. But it is actually missing the new garage and hits an old barn that almost falls apart at the moment. They might need that gold too so they can build a new one :-) :-)

Yes, we live in interesting times and scary too! How do they think?? Perhaps they don´t think and that´s the reason they do like they do?

I think this cool weather will keep the sunflower fresh for quite some time :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

I feel terrible about your election results. We can only hope that somehow some good will come of it. I know how hard it is to be a citizen in a place where all the politicians seem so useless, or unwilling to take obvious problems and fix them.
Beautiful beautiful rainbow..what a joy of nature! On the opposite end, your moose flies sound horrific, the stuff of nightmares!!! ewwwwww!

Happy Autumn Christer-we are definitely looking and feeling like Fall here in Massachusetts-maybe a frost tonight-I always look forward to your blog with the wonderful photos-especially love all the fungi and mushrooms-I need to go take a walk in the woods-we have many wild turkeys here and you need to be careful not to spook them especially when they are with their offsprings-enjoy the season.

Hi Robin!
It is terrible and as You say, we can only hope something good will come out of it.

It was a magnificent rainbow. It sort of dissapered in the clouds just to appear further up in the sky. But it was too bog to get in the photo :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Ann!
I do like autumn, except for that the days gets so short and winter will come. The change of the colors and all the smells that only autumn can bring :-)

No turkeys over here as You know, but we have the occasional pheasant and out in the forest some grouse.

Have a great day now!
Christer.

It wouldn't surprise me if the same thing happend in our November elections over here. This country is going to hell in a hand basket. A good reason to check in with your blogg daily is to look at these lovely pictures which keeps me sane. That tight shot of the sunflower is wonderful.

You might find you like union work. Even negotiating. If so you may even get a better paying job as a union organizer. I liked it a lot but the greivance procedure was constant frustration. That's the down side.

Enjoy your tea!

Hello Christer!
Sorry to hear the outcome of elections in his country. Politicians are the shame of humanity. Oh God, I hate this!
Christer love it ...when you put large pictures:)
In this photo where has this amazing mushroom full of white balls, around it in the floor ... this is! ... these are the plants that I'm dating! :)
One can clearly see the rain falling ... when it rains here in Brazil and has sun in the same time, we talk a verse: sun and rain wedding of widow:) in Portuguese is a verse in English is weird.
These flies are horrible! I hate them already! Even without knowing them.
I can'tt see a rainbow without thinking of Judy Garland singing:)
kisses and good night to you

Did you tell your neighbour about the pot of gold? I guess he missed it! They were stunning pictures though, thanks!

Hi Z&M!
It looks like there´s a (yet small) wave of nationalism going around the world. I think we´ve had enough problems with that just the last century to be warned not to take that path! The nature here helps me to stay sane too :-)

I think I might like union work too in many ways, But I know how much they work and I know of some that has "walked in to the wall" as we say over here when they have worked too much. Besides, my body needs constant moving to be ok. Union work is very much sitting still all day.

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Didi!
Still, we need politicians to help us have some kind of order in every country. They aren´t all bad to be honest :-)

It always looks fun when one translates sayings :-) :-) But it is fun that rain and sun is a positive thing over at Yours, when we look at it a bit negative :-)

Those flies are truly horrible, but thankfully very few :-)

We are many that can hear her sing when the rainbow shows :-)I love the song and the movie :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Alice!
It is something special with sunflowers :-) I always smile when I see one :-)

I never got the chance to tell them :-) It disappeared as soon as I came close to home again :-) :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

So sorry the election results weren't to your liking... we suffer the same over here and it's very frustrating... but, the perks are high and everybody wants a piece of the pie... love the mushroom pictures (are you, like, the capital of mushrooms, there?), how do you find such variety? They're gorgeous... thanks for sharing your walks and pix with us... come visit when you can...

Christer, elections seldom go my way..but this last one did.
I'm sorry your's didn't. I forget sometimes that every country and it's people have their problems. At least our two countries HAVE elections...even if they do bring in lawyers sometimes to cheat you out of your President. :)

Anyway...I just went back and caught up on your posts...
I never, ever fail to be delighted with your pictures and ALWAYS enlarge them...I don't want to miss a thing. I always call Howard in to look. The rain...gorgeous, Christer. Just fantastic.
I think of leaving blogging..but know I won't just so I can visit blogs like yours.
What a hole there would be in my life without these wonderful blogs like yours, and Joyce's fantastic food....to experience.
Take care..
Mona :)

Oh, and those..moose flies?? My dream is to travel and stop by Sweden and walk in a deep dark forest and sit with a cup of tea but..I will just sit on my front porch and look at your beautiful photo's as often as I can... :)

Hi Sharlene!
The election isn´t quite over yet, I´ll explain that in todays blog, but it won´t go my way anyway :-)

I don´t think we have especially many different mushrooms here to be honest. But many of those I show here are really tiny and most people don´t see them when walking around in the forest :-)There will be more today :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Mona!
I´m so happy that lawyers can´t do anything about elections over here, even if they are really close :-) :-)and somewhat doubtful. It´s the parliament that takes care of all eventual wrongdoings. But we must be grateful that we actually can vote!!

As long as You visit a forest not to close to a bog and in early summer (when we have Your winter temperatures :-) :-) :-) )You won´t have any problems with flies :-) :-)

I would miss You if You stopped writing Your blog! But if it isn´t fun any longer one should think about it more than once if one should continue. But You still must visit me :-) !

I´m very happy that You do like my photos :-)
