Morning fog.

I´m home today. I have gotten a cold and have a slight fever. The only disadvantage with the experiment method my hip surgery has is that I´m not allowed to have high fever for more than two days. If I do have that I must have antibiotics. It has to do with germs loves to live underneath those metal parts I have now days. So if I have a slight fever I can´t take my pills against the inflammation in my joints making it hard for me to work or even get up some mornings. Because those pills also lowers fever, so by taking them I would never know if I had to have antibiotics :-) :-)

Don´t feel sorry for me for this, I know of people that have a much more aggressive form of what I have and they have it so much worse than I. As long as I can take my pills my life is quite normal.

The morning is cold and the sun is shining. I have seen migrating geese and cranes flying by my cottage all morning. Deer are upset by something because they have been "barking" for a long time now. Perhaps one of my neighbours are out walking their dogs.

It seems that we only have the staying birds left here now except for some geese and cranes that stays for yet a couple of weeks. Not a swallow can be seen and no bird sings in the trees. But the katydids still sits there in the evening playing their instruments. I have plenty of them in my lilacs, but since they are green and the lilacs still have their leafs they are almost impossible to see. None of my cats shows any interest for them, because katydids can bite and bite hard :-) :-)

The photos You can see today is a couple of days old. I wanted to pick out a couple and post them on both the Swedish Natural Geographic and my photo album on the American National Geographic. Once posted on those places I´m not allowed to post them anywhere else You see. But the morning is much the same so I think they are quite accurate anyway :-)

The older calves were quite curious :-) My dogs are a bit afraid of them so they kept to the other side of the gravel road :-)

Now it´s time for a cup of tea and then a nap I feel.
Have a great day now!

Christer.

As usual, I love all the photos.
My favorite is the one with the mist coming off of the stream and your dog is to the right of the photo. Very cool!
I hope your fever goes away quickly!
Take care, Cindi

Hi Didi!
Yes, colds dies of boredome :-) :-) :-) So I´ve done as little as possible today :-)

No one of these were chosen to NG, because I´m not allowed to show them here then. But here are two adresses to NG, I hope I do it right now :-)

This is ti the American NG:

Hi Cindi!
That is my favourite too. If You look at the answer I wrote to Didi You´ll find two more rather similar to that one and I think those were the beat from that morning.

I do hope that my fever goes away fast too. I´ve never liked being sik.

Have a great day now!

Morning Christer, hope you are feeling better by later today - rest and tea sound like wonderful remedies. The cows were my favorite photo today, of course enjoyed all the scenics (as always) but the cows caught my attention. We are still facing some rain and winds from hurricane Earl, but predictions have lessened. Still we will take in all the ourdoor garden flags and other things that might blow around. Thanks for the good thoughts on our safety. Take good care.

And you won several stars:) I wanted to vote but also need to sign and do not have time, I come back later and do it.
Take care and hope your cold passes soon.

Hi Beatrice!
I like cows but got surprised over how curious they were :-) Usually they walk away from us when we get close, but these ran along with as as far as they could :-) I have a real good photo of the cows too, but I might use that in any of the NG:s

Before I started to blog I never really cared about Your storms, just got amazed over how strong they are! Nowdays I know plenty of You that can get affected by them and I get worried all the time :-) If it isn´t storms near You it´s fires in California. I can never rest again :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Joyce!
Nature helped a lot that morning :-) Everything gets beautiful in the combination of fog and sunshine :-)

I can´t understand how that hot weather has been able to stay so long!!! That is really strange!

I picked around 20 tomatoes from my dying tomatoplants the other day, but most of them are still green and will stay that way I guess. So I think I´ll try to make fried green tomatoes this year :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Didi!
If I copy that adress and paste it in the adress field in the top I come to the right place. Perhaps there was something wrong at the moment:

The webbsite is in swedish and it´s not the votes that counts in the end (even if I love getting those votes :-) :-) ). It is a jury that will decide which one of those photographs that will be printed in the magasine. But thanks anyway :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Wow, Christer, excellent shots today. I especially love the ones with the sun rising through the dark trees with the creek sparkling a bit in the light. They look like a fantasy world.
Went to the Swedish and American NatGeo sites also. I am envious of your talent. We photograph similar kinds of things but you are much more accomplished. I still haven't bent my digital camera to my will but I'm working on it.
Hope you feel better soon.

The cottage by the Cranelake said...

Hi Caryn!
It was a great morning for photography :-) and everything looked magical in that sun and fog mix. I´m glad that You like my photos :-)

It was in a way so much easier to take photos with our old cameras, perhaps just because we didn´t have that many choises really. We could change lens and some filtres but that was all. Nowdays we have so many choices that it is impossible to choose. Fortunally my new camera didn´t have that many options that I know many Cannons have.

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Oh, darn! Now I will have to apologize to my husband! He told me that katydids BITE, and I thought he was joking. They seem to love to come indoors this time of year.

I hope you feel better soon. I'd be happy to send some Reiki your way.

Peace,
Chris...........

The cottage by the Cranelake said...

Hi Chris!
Sorry about that :-) :-) :-) The swedish name for them is wart biter. People used to catch them and make them bit of warts. Hurts quite a lot to be bitten actually :-)

I haven´t seen any one inside since last year. The ones looking like hughe grasshoppers stays outdoors, but we have one species that looks like something from outer space and those like to come inside :-)

I to hope this cold will dissapere soon :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're not feeling well... I hope it goes away, soon and you won't have to worry about any complications with your hip... that's pretty scary... the photos were breathtaking, this morning, so I don't envy you the 1-1/2 hours of summer... you really have a little piece of heaven... come visit when you can...

The cottage by the Cranelake said...

Hi Didi!
But even knowing You wanted to give me a star make me happy :-)

In a way it´s better today, in another not. You will know later today.

Take care now!
Christer.

The cottage by the Cranelake said...

Hi Sharlene!
As long as I don´t have that high fever for two days or more it´s ok really. It´s been jumping up and down so there will be no complications with my hip :-)

I do prefere spring and aytumn before summer because there´s so few flies then :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Underbara bilder!

Christer.
