I told You yesterday that we now have a government that that doesn´t have a majority of its own in our parliament, but that is perhaps not entirely true yet. I´m not sure how elections works in other countries, but here we can pre vote. We can vote a couple of weeks before the election day in special places. All swedish citizens are allowed to vote so some weeks before the election we all get our registration card in the mail. If we pre vote they´ll put that registration card and puts it together with our different votes (that are placed in envelopes so no one can see how we voted). By doing like this we then actually can change our minds and then go to the same place again, tell them that we have changed our mind and wants to vote again.

There are several islands out in the bog. This was once a big lake and even if most of the water is gone the islands still stands there above the rest of the surroundings. If one doesn´t know the way out to these islands one can fall down in to deep holes filled with water. But forest machines can build their own ways and easily reach them if they are close to the "shore". Here You can see the timber on one of these islands. Not a single tree stands there now.

I´ve never seen this kind of mushroom before in my life! It´s dark green! It will most likely disappear when they cut down the trees on my favorite part of the forest where it now lives. I think that it is quite beautiful!

This will all be replaced by grass and raspberry bushes in the beginning. The moss will most likely die in the sun.

The envelopes will then be destroyed without anyone being able to see how we voted and new votes can be done instead. Did that make any senesce at all :-) :-) But when we vote on the election day we´ll get that registration card back again directly. These pre votes isn´t counted until yesterday, so the result can still be a bit different. Since 2,2 million people has pre voted (out of 7 million, I think) things still can change. Even if it isn´t my side that will be able to win this it would be better with a stabile parliament and that the racist party then would have no influence at all :-)

Most of the bog is nature reserve and this is close to the border of that area. These trees are probably over 70 years old.

They will pull up all roots too after cutting down the trees, so this will be a rare sight on this place in the future.

What is even worse now is that Nazis has got one place in the County council in a nearby county!!!! Have people learned nothing??? Did the world fight these pigs for nothing? This is something that really scares me. Compared to this our racists in the parliament are nice and cuddly people. The whole county is still in chock after that result.

I heard the forest machines work when I drove away this morning. It´s always sad to know that most of the trees I like out there will be gone when I come home. Sometimes it feels like I really know them :-) But who am I to complain! I have a cottage made from wood, I love wood furniture and I keep my home warm in winter by having fires in my stove. Fires that needs wood to burn. I really can´t complain about the owner cutting down his trees then, can I? It isn´t better if they cut down trees where I can´t see them to be honest. I also know that new trees will be planted there, but it will take around 70 years until they are as big as those they cut down now. I´ll never see that again in those places because I really hope that I don´t become 136 years old :-) :-) :-)

Hector have found an old stick stuck in the ground.

He realised that he wouldn´t get it out from the ground, so he just laid down and chewed on it at the place.

Some cranes passed over us on their way south. One of them had a high pitched sound and it sounded so fun when it shouted like the others that have low voices :-) :-)

He hasn´t reached my favorite place in the forest yet, so I walked there and took the last photos of how it looks now. The trees might be gone already tomorrow. So now I´ll make a toast in tea to all trees that I love and put some more logs in my stove.
Have a great day now!

It is always sad to see the trees go. I know what you mean about "knowing" them. A few years ago, my neighbor cut down at least half-a-dozen hundred-year oaks to make her asphalt driveway bigger. It was like my heart was being ripped out because that was the view from my kitchen window. The large equipment scarred the bark on several of my other neighbor's trees that border her property and now those trees are dying as a result. Breaks my heart, but at the very least I have a better view of the lake. Love those green mushrooms, and all the others, too!

Peace,
Chris............

Hi Chris!
I´ve been walking there these last ten years and I feel I know the trees better than my neighbors :-) I´ve seen how some gotten sick by all mushrooms attacking them, how some small trees grown big and how mosses and lichens taken over old tree stumps. So I said good bye to many of the old ones today. The smaller might make it through the tree cuttings. But it does annoy me when other trees gets damaged during that work!!

I´ve never seen such a green mushroom before in my life! Unfortunatly walked my dogs on them just after I took that photo :-) :-)

Have a great day now!

Yes, that last photo is right out of Alice. Really inspiring. I think the Nazi thing is the political pendelum swinging back too far to the right again. Nazi as a movement seems to be everywhere. It is when times are hard people say one thing; want a constitutional government; but really end up voting for Nationalism so they get a free lunch. So many who are old and on Social Security here want the program to stop. But if it did, they would be penniless and a burden on the rest. So they are hard to figure out. Nutters we call them.

My friend, sorry to hear that the elections didn't go the way you wanted.

I'm surprised that you have a Nazi party there! Hope they don't do much damage!

Beautiful green mushrooms! Never saw any like that!

Hi Z&M!
I think those mushrooms have an amazing color! As You say, directly from Alice :-) :-)

The nazis tried to get into another council in a neighboring county last time but people there fought against them real hard and won. This time they were more quiet so I´m not even sure the people knew they were there at all! We are all still in shock over this!

Have a great day now!

Hi Jim!
Well that happens in elections :-) The majority has spoken and now we´ll have to do the best of the situation. Until next election :-)

Well we´ve had them here since the war but they are really few. Last election they tried this in another county, but every one did what they could to get rid of them.

They move in to a county so long as they have to, to get the right to vote in that county, later they move back home again.

Last time they made a lot of noise so every one knew they were there, this time they have worked quiet. The people of the county got shocked! They won´t have any influence in the council anyway, but it´s bad enough that they got in there.

I´ve never seen anything like that mushroom either! Well, in cartoons then :-) :-)

Have a great day now Jim!

Christer,
I expect to see trolls and fairies roam those woods. They look perfect for the wee creatures.

hi christer....so sad to see the trees go but so goes life. you are right. i burn wood all the time. though i do try to use wood from trees that had to be cut down because they were dead. it is so hot here it is just awful. politics is just a nasty business. if you make your life off of being elected you can never be a true person. joyce

I understand about you being sad about the trees and missing them. A couple of years ago we had a HORRIBLE storm and trees all over town split in two and some unrooted right out of the ground. It took weeks to get all the trees and tree limbs cleaned up! So many of the tree lined streets looked startling clear and everything seemed too bright! My neighbors tree came down on one side and blocked my front door. Now that it's gone, she has no shade and can't sit on her porch because of the sun. But she's still fortunate because the other neighbors tree took down a power line and caught his garage on fire!

Hi Christer,
Love the long shot of the sunflower all alone out there in the field and shining like the sun. The photo of the little mushrooms on the root is beautiful. Why do they pull up the roots? Is it to give the newly planted trees more room?
I feel the same as you do about knowing the trees in my neighborhood and missing them when they go. They leave such a big hole in the sky. All that leaf cover is gone and so much light shines through. It takes awhile to get used to it. Perhaps you will take some photos of the changes that the cut area goes through.
Hope the pre-votes help your electoral results a bit. It's disheartening when one sees that not enough people have learned from history and seem bent on repeating the mistakes.

Hi Christer, sad news about both the elections and the forest cutting. Sort of makes you want to crawl under some warm blanket with a nice cup of tea and retreat for awhile. Nice shots today.

Hi Kat!
They are there but it´s just so hard to photograph them :-)
I think they´ll move out to the nature reserve now.

Have a great day now!

Hi Joyce!
Yes, that´s life. I wish we could use only dead or dying trees too. But since all of us out here on the country side uses wood for fire we absolutely can´t :-)

I think You are right about being elected, they have to sell their souls with all compromises they have to make. I like politics but would never become a politician!

I´ll try to send over some of our cool air this morning, we have frost here again now.

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Cindi!
We had two storms like that a couple of years ago too. More tress fell in those storms than they cut down during one year. The result was so bad in some places that forest owners hanged themselves. We were lucky in this county, but not a single tree stood where my mother lives.

But we were lucky that very few trees injured property, except for those cars that were out on the roads during the storm.

Have a great day now!

Hi Caryn!
That sunflower stands there like a sign :-) It´s impossible not to see it :-)

They pull up the roots to make pellets and fire logs so we can heat up our houses. By doing so the forest owner has to fertilize the ground for many years to come. So it is a bit stupid to do so actually. He makes some more money now, but has to spend them on fertilizers instead! If he doesn´t do that the trees he will plant will grow very, very slowly.

Yes, I´ll take photos of the change in the future.

It is better to have a stabile government even if I don´t like their politics than to have a government that can be dependent on a rasist party. So I really hopes the government gets the last votes to get a majority of its own!

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Beatrice!
Yes, both are sad. But as I said, I can´t really complain in either case to be honest. I use tree for most things and the people has voted like they have. I want to live in a democracy so I do defend their right to have their opinion, but I don´t have to like it for a second :-) :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.
