I love sunflowers so this one might start my blog many times for as long as it flowers :-)

I woke up with the worst head ache I´ve had in a year I think and my body screamed when I moved. No I don´t think that I having yet another cold, but I do think I had a fire in the stove for to long yesterday evening :-) :-) I felt like I was waking up in an oven to be honest :-) :-)

It´s always a problem with how long I can have a fire in the stove the first times every autumn. To little time and the cottage still feels cold and damp when we have the kind of weather we have now (rainy and cool). To long and it always feels like I sleep in an oven and wakes up with a head ache. But after two huge teacups with strong coffee and a walk in the forest and I feel great again :-) :-)

I think I´ll change my browser from Explorer to Safari today. Lately Explorer has been kind of slow and seems to have problems reaching different sites, so why not try another browser. I tried Safari when I just got my new computer but got big problems when I tried to type the sign "@". Safari then jumped back to the home page again, every time I tried it :-) :-) But now I know how to get around that problem. When I type @ I have to press the keys "ctrl", "alt" and the number 2 key. But now I learned that it´s enough to press the "alt gr" key to print @. That should solve the problem if I understand things right.

Tomorrow it´s the election day to our parliament here in Sweden. The government leads in all polls, but lately the opposition has come closer, so it will be a very exciting evening tomorrow! I will of course go and vote but before that I´ll visit friends that has sold their house before they move. They have a fantastic garden and I want to take some photos before it is to late. I guess that there´s nothing much flowering there now, but I´ll show You a fantastic plant that probably is one of the biggest here in Sweden but originally comes from Brazil. It takes a lot of work to make it survive at all here in Sweden and it´s totally impossible to have it here where I live. Believe me I´ve tried :-) :-)

So tomorrows blog might come a bit later than usual on a Sunday, but I think You might like to see that plant :-) Now it´s time for yet another huge cup of coffee, because I have no tea at home :-)
Have a great day now!

Hello Christer!
I'm curious to know what plant in Brazil you has there.
Do not mean that I intend to plant, because Brazil is very large, has many regions and a great diversity.
As for the browser, at home use Mozilla Firefox, ate pq Explorer was too slow.
Have a nice day!

Good morning!
Unpleasant wake up with a headache, at least going with a bucket of coffee and walk in cold air :)
Today I woke up before 6 so light it hurt the eyes:) Today promises to be a day too much heat.
Christer, you said in another post that will cut a part of forest... I felt a pain in my heart!
Why are they going to cut?!
As always I am delighted seeing your photos here. Sometimes I don't know what to look first. If the landscape is gaining colors of autumn. If the miniature world of mushrooms and ... What is it called? small very small plants? Don't call lichens, mosses or ... ahh I don't know the name.
Humm maybe some time you take a macro photo of them. Please? :)
Do you use IE? I hate this guy hahaha I use Firefox, is speedy!
Google Chrome is most fast but create many temporary files, I didn't like that.
kisses
Didi

Hi Andrea!
I´ll show You the plant tomorrow :-) and give the name too :-) This one grows in southern Brazil where it is a bit cooler. But You could certainly have it in Portugal.

I had firefox before but we never got along especially well :-) I think my old computer I had then had problems with it.

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Didi!
Yes it is really unpleasant! But coffee and cool air fixes everything :-) Soon it will be dark here at six in the morning. Winter comes closer and closer I´m afraid.

The forest owners wants to make money from their forest, so they cut it down. But they must replant more trees than they have cut down. Unfortunately I will be to old to see the forest like this again when they will be big enough. It takes around 60-70 years to get them this big again in our climate. I´m really glad You like my photos :-)

So they aren´t called lichens or mosses? What more do we have :-) Do You know the Portuguese name for it? I have no macro I´m afraid but the camera is rather good at small objects too. So if I know what You want a photo of I´ll try to take it.

I´m not to happy with IE either, so now I´ve changed to Safari. One problem is that it didn´t import all my favorite web sites so now I´ll have to find them again :-) :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Christer,
Sorry to see that your favorite part of the forest may be scheduled for harvest. At least there will be an opportunity for other kinds of plants to grow there until the new trees get big enough to block the light. There's a photographic opportunity for you. Documenting the changes. And the deer will probably like some open browsing too.
I have a Mac so I'm using Safari anyway but I didn't have the problem with the @. I like Safari better than Windows.
Off to get a big mug of coffee for myself. Enjoy the day.

Headaches for me usually mean I have a tooth going. Always comes within a day or two of a bad nerve hit in a tooth. But I sympathize with how you feel. Nothing worse, I think. The photos are brilliant today and I love the sunflower too. Can't wait to see the flower in the neighbors garden. Well, don't forget to vote for the pro union candidate. You're a big union man now. I'm voting in November for anyone who isn't a tea bagger. They are insane people over here and nutty to boot.

Hi Caryn!
I´m afraid it is so. But it could also mean that it is the part just before this that will be cut down. But I´m not especially happy about that either.

Other plants will establish there for a short time, but most likely they will replant spruce there again. If I live 70 more years and still live here I´ll get the chance to see big trees like this again. But then I´ll be over 136 years old :-) :-) :-)

Safari is made for Mac´s so You don´t have that problem. But it is adapted for pc too now but it is a bit odd to me yet. But unlike most times I like Safari already from the start :-) :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Z&M!
I´ve never had that connection myself, but I know of some that has. Thankfully I haven´t had any problems with my teeth for over fifteen years now.

I think that those tea baggers would think that even our right wing conservatives are socialists and communists :-) :-)because they too want our social services much like they are today, especially the health care system we have. That would make the tea baggers scream communism!! :-) :-) But I´ll vote on the opposition even if it means higher taxes on everything :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Christer.

Hi Robin and welcome to my blog!

Most of my readers seems to come via her blog :-)

If You like different kinds of fungi You´ve come to the right place :-) I haven´t even photographed half of the different kinds we have here :-) :-)

I´ll take it easy with the logs today :-) :-)

Have a great day and welcome back!
Christer.

Hejsan Wenche!

Christer.

Hi Kat!
It´s something special with them :-)This one grows in the middle of nowhere close to the forest. I smile every time I see it :-)

Have a great day now!

If you count the sunflower as photo 1, I think that photo 6 and 7 look like they are PAINTINGS!!!
They are fantastic!
I also love the forest ones with your dog.
Take care, Cindi

Christer, I forgot to tell you that I'm finally seeing mushrooms around here now. Yesterday I saw a huge puffball that must have been 8 inches in diameter and there were several smaller fungi as well.
Love the sunflower. It is almost an iconic shot. You can leave it up there as long as you like because it helps make the cloudy day seem brighter.

Wow! It really is Fall around your place... that's a fantastic sunflower... they're so pretty... loved the virtual walk, today... you have such a wonderful eye for photos... glad to hear your headache has gone... they can really ruin a day... come visit when you can...

Hi Cindi!
The photos of the bog You mean. The bog does look like a painting now with all its colors.

My favorite photo today is the one with Orvar in the forest :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Caryn!
I haven´t seen any puffball as big as that here, but they sort of comes in a second wave now. The frost styopped them totally for a week and most of them dissapered, but yesterday I saw lots of new ones again :-)

Sunflowers makes me smile, so I´ll take a new photo today :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Sharlene!

I thought we wouldn´t get any sunflowers this year, but then suddenly they started to pop up from the ground when it almost was to late :-)

That kind of head ache never stays long, especially not when I drink that much coffee :-) :-) :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.
