I do hope I´ll be able to post this now! I tried to answer Beatrice comment in yesterdays blog and had to try four times before it got through!!!! Error 505 is the message I get every time. Is blogger getting so big now that it´s hard to keep the servers from failing? Well I have an account on Word Press just in case :-)

Mosses doesn´t always have to be only green.

It´s been a sunny and rather cold day here. It´s not dark yet and it´s only 8,2C (46,4F) outside. The sky is clear so there´s a risk for frost tomorrow morning I´m afraid. So I plugged in the electrical engine heater in my car just in case. It´s nice when the car fast gets warm even if it isn´t really cold outside :-)

My dogs didn´t seem to care about all trees being cut down on my favorite place, but Bertil didn´t like it at all! He shouted loudly the whole time we were there.

This is my favorite moss in the forest. It looks like miniature fern leafs.

I´ll better make this short today since I have no idea if it will be posted :-) But I can tell You that I have a fire in the stove, a cup of hot tea by my side and two new comic magazines waiting for me upstairs :-)
Have a great day now!

These two mushrooms are so tiny that I think one of them could be placed on a pinhead!

I´ll end this today by showing the two perennial sunflowers I have in my garden. This is Maximilians sunflower and the one below is an artichoke called Bianca. Most people over here doesn´t know that the artichoke is a sunflower because only one or two varieties flowers here.

Well, your sunflower that opens your blog is starting to look a little sad.I had no idea that artichokes are sunflowers! My blogger site takes a while to load sometimes, and I often get "service unavailable" when trying to post blog, or even sign out!

You don't need the comic books with Bertil out there. It's obvious the trees down bother her. I think if I was a feline it would bother me too. And yes, the sunflower is starting to show its age. Older women do not like to be put up on TV. Me thinks it's back to the red barns and portal opening. 505 comes up with mine too; go back to the old design; sadly that's all I can do to keep a semblance of my blog going. Stories coming up will be the true test.

Hm....
Stackars lilla Bertil!;-)
Ja förändringar kan ibland kännas obehagliga!;-)

Hi Robin!
Yes it does look a bit sad now :-) But I think I´ll continue to take photos of it till the bitter end. There are new flower buds that will open up shortly though.

The artichoke behaves much like a weed to be honest, like many perennial sunflowers :-) But this one can be stopped by that we eat it :-) :-)

There are so many problems with blogger now that I wonder if it is breaking down. Really annoying. It´s only to wait and hope for the best I´m afraid.

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Z&M!
Bertil really showed that he didn´t like what had happened. He wasn´t quiet again until we came in to the thick forest again.

But there´s beauty in the fading too I think. But there are more buds on the sunflower that will open up within days I think. She may not like it, but I´´ continue to take photographs of her :-) :-)

Nothing much has changed in the design here, so I have no idea how to get back to an old version I´m afraid.

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Tjänare Nina!
Otrevlig historia det som du utsatts för!! Jag blir paranoid för det mesta numera när det gäller datorer :-) :-) :-)

Jag tror inte det är IE som har problem med bloggarna våra, jag har ju Safari istället. Men vi verkar all ha samma felkod i alla fall :-)

Ja Bertil var inte lycklig, det visade han tydligt den stackarn.

Ha det gott!
Christer.

Christer I loved your comment, "there's beauty in the fading." I agree, many things are most beautiful as they age.

Hi Christer,
Keep photographing the sunflower. They get lovely when the seeds form and the petals are brown and faded away. That's when the chickadees come and hang off them while they pick out the seeds.
The tiny mushrooms at the end are beautiful. So delicate.
I have nothing more profound to say today except I knew artichokes were sunflowers and very tasty ones, too. :-)
Enjoy your tea and the rest of the day.

Hi Terria!
It´s not the same beauty any longer, but still there´s beauty :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Caryn!
I´ll keep on photographing them as long as it stands there. There´s always the risk that a neighbor cuts it down way to early so that the seeds never really becomes anything :-) :-)Happens every year :-) :-)

They were so tiny those mushrooms. I hardly were able to take a photo of them :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Good morning Christer (at least it is for me) and hope for you too. Thanks for the persistence in trying until you could post a comment yesterday. I have had similar problems with blogger too. So I keep trying and it finally gets through, but very frustrating at times. Yes, there is beauty at every step of aging. I took photos of our sunflowers too after they dried out; the birds enjoyed the seeds I put in the feeders.

Those were really small mushrooms and thanks too for the info on artichokes actually being sunflowers - learn something every day. Enjoy your day too!

Hi Sharlene!
Something is wrong with blogger, that´s for sure. But I do hope they´ll fix it soon! I have never any problems with the few Word Press blogs I read an comment on.

I visit if You write :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Joyce!
The good thing with soap is that they can´t get immune towards suffocation :-) but they can against poisons. But You must remember to put some alcohol in the soap solution so it spreads all over the bug. The least open space on the bug and it might survive since they don´t breath with lungs like us.
Good luck hunting them :-)

Hi Beatrice!
Good evening :-) It became a battle of wills and I decided I would get that answer posted no matter how long it took :-) :-)

Our birds are so spoiled with sunflower seeds that they now refuses to eat any other :-) :-)

I got surprised about artichokes being sunflowers to be honest. They flower to late here so we almost never get a chance to see that happen here.

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Bertil and my sentiments are exactly the same. EXACTLY! No forgiveness here! grrrrr

Christer...couldn't they have just thinned the forest out and NOT denuded it, for pity's sakes??

The cottage by the Cranelake said...

Hi Mona!
I wish they could have just thinned it out. But they have a plan it seems to restore the area to how it looked a couple of hundreds of years ago. Back then pines and spruces were uncommon here.

It grew mostly oak, beech, birch and rowans back then, but ship building demanded lots of those trees and pines and spruces were planted instead. So even if I hate what they have done here I can understand the idea behind it if You understand what I mean.

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Rox!
I´m glad You like my photos :-) and those mushrooms was really difficult to get a clear photo of :-)

I do love the mossy parts of the forest! So I´m lucky enough to have a neighbor that doesn´t cut down a part of the forest that has lots of moss in it :-)

I´ve already a fire in the stove :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.
