The weather is a bit difficult today I would like to say. One minute the sun shines, next the rain is pouring down. To make things worse the wind also is a bit on and of :-) But if one can find a place where the wind doesn´t reach but the sun does, I would like to say that it is quite nice outside:-) :-)

I couldn´t speak at all this morning but I had no ace in my throat strangly enough. That has changed now though :-) :-) But I realised that this is a day for hot tea with honey and lots of ice cream. Since I had neither tea nor ice cream at home I had to drive to the grocery store in Gudhem. They have open today but are closed on Easter day. It´s not that long ago that easter eve were the only day the stores were allowed to be open. If one had missed to buy something that was the day You could get it, otherwise everything was closed.

There were lots of tourists down by the lake and I have to say that there is something seriously wrong with crane tourists. They can drive on the highway and suddenly just stop their cars, opens the doors and jump out of them. Just to get a better look at a crane. They really don´t care if there´s an accident because of their behaviour. I know of no other group of tourists that so willingly are prepared to get people killed just to se a bird! We do have places where they easily can see over thousands of cranes, but that is perhaps to easy?

The Himalayan Primerose (Primula denticulata) is one of the earlier primulas to start in spring.

Well I got home safely despite several stops because of tourists, I´m used to it by now. The tea is soon ready and then I´ll fetch lots of ice cream from the freezer :-)

Have a great Good Friday (or as we call it, Long Friday)!

Christer those tourists are crazy! I wouldn't like that. Too dangerous. And to stop suddenly. That's when bad accidents happen. I just bought a super car seat for the new grand baby boy and had the fire department test it here locally in case I'm rear ended when he's out with me. They did a good job of testing it. These fireman are big people, like football players, so I know the base that holds the car seat is tight. It won't move even when I kneel in the front seats and force it. So if I'm ever driving in Sweden I'll feel real safe now with my little G-son in the car. Love the photos. A Himalayan Primrose? Hey wait a minute . . . let me go get Zoey!

hi christer....living in a very high tourist area, i understand exactly what you mean. i ask my husband all the time....if we hate tourists why did we buy this house? i think i did not hate tourists until after i bought the house and had to deal with them. before i put in gates and fences i had people just strolling around my yard doing all sorts of things. i am making perogies tomorrow for easter sunday and then a leg of lamb roasted over smoking wood chips. we get a special young spring lamb which is mild flavored and wonderful! it is farmed locally. enjoy your ice cream! joyce

Hi Z&M!
I understand that it can be fun to see a crane, they are beautiful, but not to die for :-) :-)

Great that You had the car seat tested! It´s so important that those chairs really do what they are supposed to. There are still to many that lacks the standard they should have!

Yes, Zoe should know what that is :-) :-)
Have a great easter now!

Hi Joyce!
The problem is that we never understand how some tourists behave until after we´ve bought our home :-) :-) Most tourists behaves good here, but those comming for the cranes must have something wrong in their heads :-) I´m so greateful that our village lies in the bird protection area so none of those crane tourists ever will come in here :-) :-) :-)

Perogis!MMMM I love perogies! ande leg of lamb too! Suddenly my ice cream isn´t that terriffic :-) :-) :-)
Have a great easter now!

Hi, Christer.
I really love that first picture. I would want that one by my desk so I could look at it and travel somewhere in my imagination.

As a longtime bird watcher and frequent driver though prime bird-watching habitat I can tell you that bird watchers everywhere are like that. They don't have to be tourists either. When avid bird watchers are on a quest all other thoughts leave their heads as soon as they spot the object of their search. I'm not like that, of course though I will confess to having only half an eye on the road sometimes ;-)

Hi Caryn!
I think that if this just happened once in a while I could sort of live with it, but now during crane season they are deadly all those drivers :-) :-) :-) And I can say that half an eye is better than none :-)

If You have the possibility why not print out that photo? Anyway, I´m glad You like it :-)
Have a great easter now and welcome back!
Christer.

Thanks, Christer. I saved the photo and will print it when I get my printer functioning again. It is not on speaking terms with my computer at the moment.

Hi Caryn!
So You have the same problems as i do with the computor and the printer. I have really tried to negotiate between them but without any result :-) Good luck with Yours :-)

Thanks, Christer.
Sometimes the machines in question have to go to the mountain and commune with their inner selves before they will decide to commune with each other.

I used to like tourists, until I had a store -- and, they came in!!! But, I am not even going to get on that soapbox (this is Easter weekend and I will only have pure thoughts...). You sure do have some beautiful views. Behave yourself and don't throw rocks at the crane watchers when they're craning (heehee) their necks!

I have actually dared to download some of your pix. They're so beautiful. Have a very happy Easter and behave yourself!

Luckily NO tourists here!
But the street I live on is THE street that EVERYONE takes their walks on.
I try to do the "front yard" gardening in the middle of the week during the day, if I wait until evening or Heaven forbid the weekend, well! everyone and their brother has something to say! Usually I don't really mind but sometimes I just want to be in my own little world. LOL!
Anyway, I LOVE your third photo. The one with the kitty taking his/her walk.
Have a Happy Easter!

Hi Sharlene!
It´s to late for me to have pure thoughts now :-) :-) Thankfully we only have those torists now when the cranes comes. Later and through all summer we have a different kind that mostly stays on the bus until they step out at a convent ruin or something similar :-) :-)

I´ll try to stay nice towrds the tourists :-)

I´m just happy if You like my photo´s, so if You download them for personal use I´m happy. But if You´re starting to make millions of dollars on them I would like to get some of that :-) :-) :-)

Have a Happy easter!

Hi Oldblackcatboo!
Welcome to my little blog!
That can be truly annoying too! Usually it´s fun when people like to talk gardening, but it can be way to much of a good thing too :-) Luckily I live far out from every where. None of my neighbours care about gardening, but sometimes they stop when walking by and say: Have You bought another bush...again :-) :-)

If You look back in this blog You´ll find lots of cat photo´s. The grey one, Bertil, always follows us on our walks. His ginger brother, Teodor, is rather at home meeting us after our walk :-)
Have a happy easter now!
Christer.
