It´s one of those days when the weather doesn´t seeme to be able to decide what to do. It started out with a clear blue sky and sunshine. As Usual we had frost during the night and we created white clouds when breathing. Quite nice actully. But now comes a time when we can´t hear the cranes any longer. I´m not sure why but I yhink it is because territorys has been established and now nestbuilding is going on. Better not telling the world where the nest is I guess.

Nature always takes back what it once given. It usually starts with different funguses even before the trees has died.

The clouds started comming in when I drove to the supermarket in Skara. I´m not sure why I drove there to be honest. I wouldn´t get anything they don´t have in Gudhem and it´s twice as far to go there. But I came home with an electric cooling bag and two DVD:s I didn´t have before. The two DVD:s are “Liar Liar” with Jim Carrey and “Monty Python and the wholy grail”. I´m not a fan of Jim Carrey but I´ve heard this one is rather good and nothing Monty Python ever has done is bad :-) :-)

I stopped by the lake on my way home from Skara. There are still some cranes there but also lots of other birds. Many of them will stay all summer here.

It started to rain on my way home and after that the wether changes every ten minutes. At the moment it´s sunny and calm, but just minutes before the winds were quite stróng and the rain fell geavy. Now the clouds cover the sun again. I can also hear lots of aeroplanes in the air right now. Usually we can´t hear them, just see them. But the militarys Hercules planes flies low here whe landing on a military landing field rather far away. It´s almost strange to hear them again.

I´ve already taken a nap so I guess it´s time to watch some DVD:s then. I´ll just have to make a pot of tea and perhaps find some cinnamone bunns to go with :-)

Have a great day now!

We have two castles just a few kilometers (a few miles) away from each other. The one You almost can see here is Dagsnäs castle.

Hi, Christer

Looks like you still have some crane tourists in campers by the lake. Do you know what kind of cranes you have? They look a little like our Whooping cranes but I think you wouldn't have those over there.
Enjoy you pot of tea. The weather looks right for it.

Pictures are wonderful today Christer. Who lives in the castles? And are those Cranes in the pasture in the two photos? Have a great weekend.

Hi Caryn!
These are the three last campers down by the lake now. I think there were almost fifty at most at the same time :-)

I think these cranes are called Common Crane (Grus grus)

It´ll be a lot of tea today :-) :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Z&M!
I think it´s a small family living there nowdyas.

The cranes are just a few yards from the lake, so perhaps we could say that they are standing on the beach :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Joyce!
Yes my dogs follows me in the car now and again. Even if it is a small Mazda I have they got plenty of space when I push down the back seat. Last summer we went over 140 european miles (around 170 miles)on my vacation :-)

Most of our cranes goes down to Spain during winter and those resting here by the lake in spring goes mostly to Norway during summer (exept for those nesting here).

Great that You finally will get some rain. I hope the grounds aren´t to dry now, so the water just flows away instead of sinking down into the ground.
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Lovely day, Christer!

If you were a nesting crane, would you tell the world where you were? Hmmm?

So, if you can see the castle, does that mean your property was once in the kingdom run by that king/duke/earl/lord?

Hi Sharlene!
It´s amazing how much noice those birds makes :-) They´ll sooon start again telling the world where they are :-)

No that castle isn´t the one that owned this village. These grounds used to belong to Bjurums castle. I´ll try to remember to take a photo of it soon. I´ll try to look in to it´s history too. I think they were low nobility, Baron or something like that. Nowdays it´s a lawyer that oiwns it.
Have a great day now!
Christer.
