Yesterdays sunset.

Swallows are flying above my cottage and it does sound as if they have fun. Every time they dive downwards they sort of screams like a bunch of kids in a rollercoaster :-) Otherwise it´s completely quiet outside. It´s cool, cloudy, humid and drizzle comes and goes. It´s Sunday morning.

Teodor never follows us on our trips any longer. He preferes to stay at home. I would like to be able to paint  my entrence door like this. I like how it looks now. But algies and mosses on wood is never good. I have checked and the tree benieth is still fresh.
Bertil however always follows if he can.

When we were walking homewards this morning I looked into the forest and saw something big as a dog run away. It was sort of brownish grey and I thought it was one of the foxes that live here. But it made a rather strange noise to be honest, a sound I´ve only heard on TV before.

So the first thing I did when I could reach my computer was to go out on the internet to see if I could find a place that had recorded the sounds of the animal I had in mind. Naturally there was such a place, we really can find everything out on the net :-)

The sound I heard did very much like the sound a raccoon in distress would make :-) They are so similar! But to be honest, I don´t think we have a raccoon in our forest. My dogs didn´t show any extra interest in any new scent and couldn´t had cared less about that sound. Most probably I did see a fox but the sound must have come from a bird. But it was a fun coincident :-)

But I do however know a couple of hunters that says we do have some raccoons in this country and that they most probably have been smuggled in to this country as a pet when they were young. They do have wild raccoons in Europe that once escaped from fur farms and since we have almost no border control after joining the EU it´s way too easy to smuggle animals in to Sweden. I do like raccoons, but they don´t belong here.

Today is a day made for relaxation, the weather isn´t exactly inviting to be honest. I have a pot of tea waiting and after that I think I´ll take a nap :-)

Have a great day now!

Vad häftigt om det var en tvättbjörn:) fast som du säger de hör ju inte hemma i vår fauna. Det finns nog mer djur här än vi vet om eftersom folk i sin egoism och okunskap smugglar över gränserna. Ha det gott/Monne

Hello Christer
Shame you were not able to shoot it until I stretched the photo, but it was Bertil hehehe
I have spent my spare time to see their old posts, so I know their stories better, your country, your plants and your pets!
I found that you're an artist too!
After making clay sculptures
I now make some crafts, but do not be a natural, a pity, would love to draw!
See you soon

Christer.

Hi Andrea!
It would have been fun to see what animal it really was :-)

I wouldn´t go as far as calling myself an artist :-) :-) But I had lots of fun and will do it again one day. Drawing is really fun but it takes a lot of practice to get good at it.

Have a great day now!

We have raccoons here in our woods, Christer, but I've never heard them scream. Our ferral cat family has secret code type cries. They communicate to each other especially when one sees I left food for them. Then in one cry announcement the brood hits the porch all at once. It's fun to watch them. Great photos today and I too like that shade of moss looking door color. It's almost an antique look. Enjoy your tea.

Hi Z&M!
Apparently raccoons doesn´t make a lot of sounds, but I saw a nature program on tv where a small, afraid raccoon made this sound. It is kind of high and squeeky.

So when I heard much the same sound here in my neighborhood I had to find it on the internet too. It sounded just like that scared raccoon on tv. But I doubt that we have one here.

But then again, theu found a 1,5 meter (about the same in yards) boa the other week so why not a raccoon?

It´s a shame I have to take that algie away really, I can never paint it in that way myself :-)
Have a great day now!

Hi Christer,
It's always a joy to accompany your walks. The trio stopped all together today for a beautiful picture.
Glad to know that you draw, it is delicious does not it? Someday show your pictures ... do not be shy. Share our efforts in creating something is a good thing.
kisses and good afternoon to you, to the trio and the duo
Didi

Hi Didi!
They all cooperated well with my photographing them :-)

I very seldom save anything I have drawn. There´s always something I don´t like about what I´ve done :-) I think there might be three drawings somewhere on the upper floor. Perhaps I´ll show You it one day :-) But the things I tried to draw yesterday will be burned and destroyed for ever :-) :-)

We all wish You a Good day too!
Christer.

Christer Ohh ... not be so hard on yourself ...
I can understand how you feel ... but I learned that after a while to see again what I did and did not like it always has something good.
We can even do something to lose the shame ... a show of our worst designs! I bet we would be surprised at the sight of another person
kiss
Didi

Hi Didi!
I don´t think we should have that much fun and show the worst things we´ve done :-) :-) Thankfully almost all of it is burned in my stove :-)

I´ll se if I can find those old drawing till tomorrows blog.
Take care!
Christer.

I really enjoyed the walk, this morning, Christer, and it's nice to see that Teodor did welcome you when you return... if it is a raccoon, it would have to be extra careful about leaving things edible on your porch or you will soon have a houseguest... enjoy your tea and come visit you can... I always enjoy your comments

We have so many raccoons here in the Midwest that sadly I can not drive to work without seeing one killed in the road.
I love all the photos as always!
I was thinking that maybe after you painted the door, you could get some paint the color of the algae and thin it down with water and lightly paint it in layers. Maybe that would make it look similar, if not -well I guess you could always paint over it again!
LOL! Take care! - Cindi

Hi Sharlene!
If Teodor is outside weh we take our walk he always welcome us, because he wants to get in again :-) :-)

I feel we have enough troubles with foxes going through eventual edibles left outside or magpies for that matter. We really don´t need one more :-) :-)

You know I always visit :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

hi christer...i knew that about the amish. that is why their dolls don't have faces. i'll tell you...that damn bible is always messing with things i want to do!!! why do you think teodor does not go on walks? not long after you paint your door the green will return. i should have a house made of brick and not wood. wood does not do well in this area! joyce

Hi Joyce!
The bible is there to mess with us I think :-) It´s fantastic how we all can read the same text and then interpret it so different :-) :-)

I think he doesn´t follow us because of a close encounter with a fox. He may be bigger than his brother, but he hasn´t half the courage :-) I´m really happy about him being a coward :-)

Last time I painted it took five years until the green came. I hope for at least the same time now too :-) But it´ll probably come faster with the envioremental kind colors we have nowdays. Strangly enough most houses (like villas and cottages) are made of wood here. It was only because the big towns burned down so often back in the days that they turned to brick houses. Brick is good, brick doesn´t need paint :-) :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.
