Rain, rain, rain.

It has been raining here since last evening and will continue much like this all day long. It´s getting a bit boring now but it´s nothing I can do to change the weather so I better enjoy it whether I like it or not :-) :-)

None of my dogs seems to dislike standing in the rain too much. But place them under a shower and a fight for life and death starts :-) :-) :-)

Hector was the only one that was smart enough to stay besdie me benieth the branches of the big spruce. Well at least for a couple of minutes :-)
There was a short gap between the showers so my dogs and I grabbed the chance when we had it and took our morning walk. Needles to say, we had just leaved the cottage when the rain started again :-) :-) I did get a camera bag (and a beach ball :-) ) when I bought the camera and luckily I had brought it with me. I´m not sure how much humidity a camera like this can take to be honest. When it comes to mobile phones it´s enough to run a few yards to get more humidity on the phone than it can take :-) :-) :-)

The rain calmed down a bit so we started to walk back home.

An old hunting tower. I don´t think it has been used for over eight years now. I think it might be a good place to sit if I want to photograph deers early mornings, they usually pass here You see.

But the bag seems water proof but I also had my Mosquito hat over it just in case. After a while we reached a big spruce where we usually take cover if we are surprised by rain. There´s no place that is as dry as under a spruce when it rains.

I think I´ve managed to use the camera rather well this morning. If some looks a bit dark it´s just because it was and still is very dark outside. I could ofcourse edit the photo´s to make them brighter, but I never do that. The only thing I do is to reduce the size of them.

While we were out walking in the rain Bertil prefered to do this :-)

Since the weather isn´t going to improve I´ll watch a DVD today I think. Yesterday I saw ”The Proposal” with Sandra Bullock and it was just as fun as I had hoped for. I know , all these romantic comedies are much the same but I don´t care I love those kinds of movies :-)

I tried to take some close up photo´s of beetles yesterday and this one was the best. Unfortunally I had forgotten to see what kind of focus settings I had, so the antennas became a bit blurry. But this is how I learn how to use my camera, trial and error :-)

This butterfly just refused to show its back to me. Everytime I came close to see it, the darn insect just flew away :-) :-)

Today it will be ”Alice in Wonderland”. I´ve heard so much about it and most of what I´ve heard is positive. I have this far in life never been disappointed in a Tim Burton film and I doubt that I will be this time either. But until I start the DVD I´ll make a pot of tea and perhaps some scones.

Have a great day now!

Bertie looks so cute. Great photos today Christer. You will enjoy Alice. I watched it while on vacation and it was a wonderful movie. The pictures of your countryside are so inviting. It's hard to think you only have summer for just a few months before cold winter returns. Everything is so greened up over there.

Hello,
Even with rain photos are beautiful, so green all around.
And then the brave wanderer now preferred the warmth of the couch? He is sleeping pretty chin up ... cats are very funny even when they sleep.
kiss and good movie
Didi

Hi Z&M!
I did enjoy Alice very much :-) It is a fantastic movie!

Summer here is to short, but sometimes the autumns can be long and warm too. So that´s what I´m hoping for every year :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Didi!
Yes the brave little walker stayed home and slept on my coach instead :-) :-)

Rain always make things look so much brighter and clearer. But it doesn´t have to rain to often :-) :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Christer,
I love how striped cats look like their eyes are still open even when they are asleep.

Living in Northeast USA, our summers are relatively short, hot affairs. My California cousins are always surprised by how green everything is. I say it's because the plants know they have only a short time to get their business done so they jump in with all the chlorophyll they've got. Round about August the green starts looking a bit tired out.

I admire people who can just whip up scones the way I put toast in the toaster. Have a great cup of tea and scones.

Hi Caryn!
I think his eyes actually were a bit open this time. He had just been looking at me before I took that photo :-)

I think that You are right about that. They know summer is short so perhaps they do have more chlorophyll in their leafs? It would actually make a lot of sence to be honest :-)

But scones are the easist thing to do :-) I always make the dough a bit firmer with some more flour and I usually puts some cheese in it too and perhaps some rosemary. It´s soooo tasty :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Your cat is smart :)
Here it has been raining a lot, I've been annoyed with so much water on me, despite being hot. This is the worst year of rainfall!
I have a curiosity ... what the holiday period there in Sweden? I say all school holidays when they travel? Here are ending, it is always in July and December. In Portugal it is more in August. So I was thinking in Sweden with this severe weather conditions, when it would be.
kiss
Didi

Looks like the camera is starting to be your friend (a beach ball?!) and your skills will only improve... also appears that Bertil is the brains of the group and understands how to handle a rainy day, very well, indeed... so you like Rosemary in your scones? well, it's just a hop, skip, and a jump to the Rosemary Artisan Bread, so I'm looking forward to hearing of your successes with that... have a great day "at the movies"...

Hi Didi!
Yes he is smart :-)

Schools ends in early June and starts in early August. Then they have a week autumn vacation (one week)in October. Christmas vacation, three weeks at least, starts just before Christmas.

After that they have one week Winter vacation, usually late february/early March and finally they have one week Easter vacation. So it´s spread rather even during the year.

To much rain here too this year.
Take care now!
Christer.

Hi Perovskia!
I just can´t help it, but I love romantic comedies. The old ones with Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy is probably the best of them all :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Joyce!
It was a woinderful romantic comedy, one of the best I would like to say :-) That house on the island was really fine! To big for me though :-) :-)

Strange how You still have that heat! Over here it´s a rather normal summer to be honest. We have a couple of weeks of real heat and then it´s over. I do hope You´ll get some rain soon!
Have a great day in the heat now!
Christer.

Hi Sharlene!
Well I looked at the CD i got and suddenly I started to understand how the camera works :-) :-) But it will still be called Eeyor :-)

I´m afraid You are right about Bertil :-) :-)

Rosemary goes great in all bread I think :-) Rosemary bread (whatever kind of bread)that still is warm and some great cheese on it MMMMMMM :-) :-)

Have a great day You too!
Christer.

Yes, we enjoy the romantic comedies too. Some of the modern ones are good with Sandra Bullock. Other romantic movies she is in that are worth seeing include The Lake House and the Miss Congeniality movies are funny too. Another modern favorite is Pretty Woman with Julia Roberts/Richard Gere. The Specer tracey-Katherine Helburn series are great, Adam's Rib is a favorite. Our collection of DVD movies, while small mostly has romantic comedies. Others include You've Got Mail, When Harry Met Sally, Serendipity, Crossing Delancy...too many more to list.

Glad you and the new camera escaped the rains. Bertil had the best idea for a rainy day. It's raining here too - finally and a bit cooler too.

The Last Holiday.

These are my current favorites!

I hope You´re vacation was really good!
Christer.

Hi Beatrice!
I haven´t seen the Lake house but I do like the both Miss Congeniality movies :-) But I like almost everything she does :-)

I have a lot of romantic movies here at home, but unfortunally none with Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy. But it´s not to late to get them after all :-)

Bertil is very smart :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Terria!
I´m not sure if I´ve seen them :-) It depends on if they have a swedish titel, becaus I don´t recognise the english titles.

Have a great day now!'

Tjänare Katarina!
Här är det så illa att vildhallonen nu ruttnar direkt på grenarna, så nu måste regnet lugna ned sig en del. Fast det skall ju komma mer säger de :-)
Ha det gott!
Christer.

We like the old movies too. Our latest choices are movie versions of Broadway plays like Carosel, Gigi, My Fair Lady, and Oklahoma.
But i am always a sucker for a good romantic comedy. French Kiss is my all time favorite.
