Last nights moon. If You click on the photo to make it bigger You can see the dark spot on the moon too. I´ve almost never been able to get a photo like that of the moon before I got my new camera.

I can´t remember when I was this tired as when i woke up this morning. I woke up at five am as usual and unfortunally my dogs noticed it. So I had to get up to let them out in to the garden. I went straight back to bed when they all had come in again and slept for an hour more. I was as tired as before but got up since I usually gets a terrible headache if I sleep to long in the morning.

I was so tired that I fumbeled with my tooth brush and dropped it so it fell down in to the cat littre tray. So I grabbed my spare one and did the same thing once again :-) :-) You would think that I by then would have realised that it would have been better to get out of the bathroom, don´t You? But noo, naturally I fumbled once again and now there´s also a jar with hair gel in that littre tray. Well, it´s time to clean that littre tray anyway so it will all go to the dump. I simply refuses to move those things out of there now :-) :-) :-)

About that getting immune of the itching mosquitoe bites it´s said that back in the days the Swedish Sami indigenous population every summer went out and slept naked for one night so they really got bitten by mosquitoes and midges. After that they had no problems with itching bites (but I do wonder how they felt after that night with or without any itching :-)  ). I´m not sure that´s such a good idea to test though. It happens that mooses and deers dies every summer just because they couldn´t flee from mosquitoes and midges. They more or less got poisoned to death by all the bites.

It´s a cool, cloudy morning without any wind at all. The swallows are flying around my cottage eating as many mosquitoes as they can before the long move south. I could see how at least hundred swallows attacked a magpie that sat on a barn roof when we took our morning walk. I´ve never seen this behaviour this late in the season before. They have no young ones in the nests and the magpie just sat there minding its own buissness. The poor magpie had to flee to a big tree on the farm next door.

Goldenrod. This is the European relative to the Canadian Goldenrod. It´s not as invasive and smaller too.

I´m just waiting for the grocery store in Gudhem to open up now. I do need atleast one new tooth brush, but I think it´s best to buy two just in case :-) I´ve already finished one pot of tea (and that makes me realise that I have forgotten to take any photos of my pots! I´ll get some for tomorrows blog instead). I´m still tired but I won´t be dangerous in the traffic anyway. It´ll probably only be me on the roads anyway :-)
Have a great day now!

Hi Christer,
One day I spotted a red tail hawk sitting in a tree but he was looking a bit odd. Then I realized that all the "leaves" on that tree were really swallows and they were all oriented toward the hawk. The hawk was trying to make himself unnoticed by them. He knew if he even twitched, they would be all over him.

Perhaps you should have a safety net over the cat box. :-) And maybe the family pack of toothbrushes, just to be on the safe side.

What is the plant with the small white flower in the last photo?

Have a good trip to Gudhem.

Hi Christer,
Things can be very complicated when I get out of bed, too :)
Spiders scare me, but they do a fine job of weaving I must confess.
I'd like to see pictures of their new pots of tea:)
Say ... that their fatigue would not have any medication? Vitamins perhaps?
I wish you'd be happier.
Have a nice day, take care
kisses

Hi Caryn!
Poor hawk :-) No swallow for dinner that day :-) But I thought swallows just beahved like that when they had young ones. Not when all of them could fly.

I´ll see if I can have a safety net there, because that is the only place I can nhave the cat littre box :-) :-)

I´m a bit confused about You question. There are no flowers in the last photo :-) :-) But I can see the leafs from raspberry bushes and meadowsweet.
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Didi!
They were way to complicated this morning :-) :-)

I´ll remember to take photos of the pots till tomorrows blog of those pots :-)

It seemes many of us is really tired today and most of us have stuffed noses too. So it´s probably a cold that makes us so tired. But I am happy, don´t worry about that :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Ahh ok I understand.
Here also has a lot of rain and cold weather (well. .. cold for our custom) and I've been very lazy ... this is very boring.
The beetle is taking a shower now, will soon be ready:)

I saw something white and somewhat triangular. I thought it might be a flower or modified sepals. It reminded me of my mystery bush.

The swallows were content to let the hawk alone as long he didn't move. I think if he had tried to fly off, they would've mobbed him. They were certainly letting him know they were watching him closely. He stayed there, a bit hunched up, until they all left.

Hi Didi!
It gets boring if it rains to much. I´m looking forward to see the finished result!

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Caryn!
Now I understand! Do You have any photo of Your mystery bush? If so I can open up the mail service here on blogger for one day. Perhaps I can help identify it or any of my gardenfriends can.

Poor hawk :-) :-)

Have a great day now!

Hi, I've recently come across your blog and very much enjoy learning about your country living and seeing all the nice photos you post of your animals and the surrounding nature.

I think we've all had crazy days when we're so tired we do silly things. If it makes you feel any better, I destroyed not one, but TWO hairdryers on different occasions, after fumbling about in the bathroom where I was. Each time it was the same, where, being tired or careless, I accidentally knocked the hairdryer off the sink counter and off it went into the toilet which is right next to it; it's a small bathroom. I felt pretty silly the first time but after the second time I felt pretty ridiculous. Now I'm very careful, haha. Sometimes I find that taking a walk outside can really help to awaken the mind and body. Anyway, have a good day! Oh, btw, it'd be nice to see your new tea pots..

Hi Flourishment and welcome to my blog!
I´m glad that You like what I´m doing here :-)

It sounds as if Your bathroom is as small as mine is :-) It´s good to know that we are many having troubles in the mornings :-) :-) :-) Thankfully I do have to go out for walks all the time with my dogs and it does clear the head :-)

Have a great day now!

Sounds like your body is getting ready to hibernate -- you being so close to the Arctic Circle... I would NOT, under any circumstances, subject myself to sleeping naked out of doors during mosquito season (or, any other, for that matter)... that's just asking for some really serious problems... they carry nasty stuff... but, I would love to see the tea pots... and, for you, I would definitely get the family pack of toothbrushes!... 8-)... come visit when you can...

Hi Sharlene!
I wish I only could :-) Would be great to sleep during winter :-) :-)

I will never try sleeping naked outside during mosquitoe season :-) :-) I can imagine how I would feel the comming week if I survived :-) :-) But thankfullu our mosquitoes doesn´t carry anything nasty. It´s our long winters that prevents that :-)

But perhaps I should buy a family pack with tooth brushes :-) :-)

You know I´ll visit!
Have a great day now!
Christer.

hi christer...i am imaging that the next time i see teodor and bertyl they will have big white smiles and fancy hairdos? i love the pic of the moon. your new camera seems to be working out very well for you. maybe you are tired because you are back to work. it's still stinking hot here. i am really allergic to mosquito bites so i would be in big trouble if i was in sweden. joyce

I'm thinking it's time to move the litter boxes. We put our two on the enclosed porch and away from anything important. So we won't be dropping our tooth brushes in them or anything else for that matter. Find a safe place away from stuff. They will find them when they need to go. It really is summer over there. The pictures today show that. Don't forget to post the pots tomorrow.

ana_didi said...

Christer I'm not sure what to do with the beetle ... maybe sew a bag or purse with him, maybe put in the frame ... do you have any suggestions?
Now I'm laughing at the idea of Joyce about how the cats will appear in the next photos. You forgot to drop a hairbrush there :)
kisses
Didi

Hi Christer, I think I'm having one of those same days - very tired. We spent our anniversary outdoors biking on the "island" we visited on our little sea cruise. it was very hot, humid and very buggy because the place is surrounded by water and lots of marshes on the island too.

Buying several toothbrushes might be a wise plan (just in case). Really liked the spider web shot.

What lens is on your new camera? It's doing well with your great skill, of course!

Hope we both feel untired by Monday.

Wow! I'm loving your new camera!
Great photos!

Maybe you could get one of those hooded cat boxes...

Here's the link to my public Flickr acct. You can grab the photo and post on your blog. I'm not sure how to do that.

"Flower" is probably modified sepals. The real flowers are in the center. Bush grows to about 8 feet. Has four seeds which are covered with a shiny dark brown papery shell. Holds the seeds on the plant through winter until next season's flowers go to seed at which time it drops last year's seeds. Flower is about raspberry blossom size but reminds me of dogwood. Leaf looks like raspberry but shrub is woody without thorns.

I'm not a very good morning person. I tend to be more of a night owl! Summer is starting to fade and thoughts of fall and winter are in my mind. I'm not looking forward to winter at all. I have too many memories of last year's horrible winter! Days of blizzards and ice and way below zero temps! Eeek! I hope we have a looooong autumn! :) Take care!

Hi You all!

I´ll start with Caryn and work backwards to answer Your comments :-)

I´m pretty sur it is a bush with the name Rhodotypos Scandens. I´ve tried to have it in my garden several times but they die the comming winter. But I´ll try again and again and again...... Because I really like it. If I would be wrong it must be a raspberry relative. There are some looking much like Your bush too. Lokk at Googles images here:
http://www.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&q=Rhodotypos%20scandens&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=1345&bih=555

Hi Kristina!
I am a morning person but yesterday morning was just impossible to wake up on :-)

I too hope for a long autumn and a very, very short winter :-)

Hi Cindi!
I do like that camera too :-)
We all agreed at work that it would be best for me to have one of those boxes with hood :-)

Hi Beatrice!
Marshes is bug paradise :-) But if one can leave after a while it´s easy to just ignore them.
It´s a 18-55mm lens that came with the camera. I´ll try to buy some more lenses next year.

Hi Didi!
I´m useless with giving suggestions I´m afraid :-) I´ll try to make my cats smile next time I photograph them :-) :-)

Hi Z&M!
I really don´t have any other place to have it. My bathroom is really small and I don´t have any enclosed porch. It may look like summer in the photos but autumn has come, that´s for sure I´m afraid.

Hi Joyce!
:-) :-) :-) I will really try to make my cats smile on the comming photos :-) Yes my camera and I do like each other :-) Especially since I understood the instructions :-) :-) Your life would be hell here, bogs are perfect for mosquitoes so we have to share if any one would like to have some :-)

Have a great day now You all!
Christer.

Christer you are wonderful! It is absolutely rhodotypos scandens. The google photo was practically identical to mine. Thank you for identifying it. That shrub has been growing on the property for dogs ages and no one knew what it was.

Hello Christer
Really ruins are beautiful!
I love to visit ruins, castles .... well ... I imagine it would be like at the time of creation.
I also visited some ruins shortly after I'll post.
And his teapots, though it had certainly not broken, would send a very nice for you.
Good night!
