I have bloodstains all over my kitchen today. I´ve tried to find and remove them all but as soon as I think I´m done I find more of them. No is not crushed flies or mosquitoes I´m talking about. The blood is mine and I dropped over my kitchen this morning.

Marshmallow, Althaea officinalis.

Not a single pumpkin on my pumkin plant, but it grows bigger and bigger every day :-)

It sounds very dramatic, but it wasn´t to be honest. I was a tiny bit late this morning and was going to make sandwiches for breakfast when Orvar started to look on the floor to see what I might have or would drop on the floor. I turned towards him and started to say that he was rather unpolite looking on the floor as if I always dropped something when making food :-)

Just when I was turning towards him I slipped with the cheese slicer and sliced a piece of my indexfinger on my left hand. It is amazing how much one can bleed from a finger :-) So I tried to stop the blood from falling all over the place at the same time I was looking for sticking plaster. Finally I found the box I bought just some weeks ago and realised that the plastic wrapping  still was on the pakage. So I tried to rip it of with one hand and my teeth.

It is amazing how hard that plastic is wrapped around the pakage! So then I tried to cut it open with a knife only sliding and getting the knife towards my stomach. Well I didn´t cut myself that time anyway :-) The knife was to dull for that, so I found a sharper knife and finally I got the plasters out of the box just to realise they too were wrapped in some kind of paper/plastic. I only managed to rip of the edges of this wrapping in the beginning and got a bit tired of it and wondered if I shoul just wrap some paper around the wound.

More and more leafs turns yeallow now. Autumn is here.

I finally got out a couple of plasters and bled right through them in minutes :-) :-) I ate my breakfast as fast as I could and hurried away to work. Thne fun thing is that I just can´t the missing piece of me. I really hope it didn´t fall on the sandwiches. Would that make me a cannibal then? :-) :-) :-)

Now it´s time for some tea and then relaxing because I´ve promised to work overtime tomorrow. I regretted it as soon as I had said it :-) :-)
Have a great day now!

I find today's bulletproof packaging so frustrating that sometimes I just throw a fit. I recently had one that I finally took my biggest knife (sort of a small machete) and hacked the whole thing in half to get to the product. As I recall I lost some of the product but it sure felt good.
These days I leave a good amount of products in the stores because of the packaging.

Hi Oldfool!
I haven´t chopped any product with a knife yet, but I´m getting there soon :-) :-) I can´t for my life understand why they have to make it like this, especially if it is things like plasters that You might need fast.

Nowdays I never buy a product if I think the commercials assumes that I have no brain. I hate it when they think I´ll buy anything when they assume I´m stupid! I can´t buy many products any longer :-)

Have a great day now!

Everything that is emergency stuffs in my house we open immediately and store so you can use it. You should do the same. If you live alone, it's even more important to keep access clean and easy to find, easy to use. I agree that the bulletproofing these days is overkill on many packages. Last night I had to get a sharp knife to cut the wrapping on the top of a black pepper jar. It just wouldn't peel off. Rediculous! I hope the finger doesn't get infected.

Hi Christer,

I believe that would not be cannibalism but autophagia. Wikipedia says it is not a mental illness so you can rest easy. Wiki is, after all, the final word on all things. Besides, Orvar probably found the piece anyway. ;-)

I hate the new packaging. I broke a pair of kitchen shears on the last one I tried to open. Those shears had cut through bones but couldn't handle plastic packages.
Fortunately the band-aids that I have are enclosed in a wrapping that can be pulled apart with one hand and your teeth. Very convenient.

Have a great day.

LOL! It's so RUDE of me to be laughing but I can't help it! It reminds me of that skit with Dan Ackroyd on Saturday Night Live a million years ago when he was playing Julia Child and all his fingers were cut and squirting everywhere! Sorry that you cut yourself! I hope you put some peroxide on it!
Take care and I hope the overtime goes fast!

Hi Z&M!
I usually open up things like plaster pakages, but I had forgotten to do it this time :-)

It´s just plain stupid to bulletproof things like they do today! Like the wrapping around DVD:s Of that I could talk several days :-) :-)

It looks like there´s no infection in the wound, but I´ll keep my eyes on it these comming days!
Have a great day now!

Hi Caryn!
It´s nice to know that autophagia isn´t a mental illness :-) :-)and I´m afraid that You are right about Orvar finding it :-) :-)

Why on earth do thay have to use that kind of plastic? It´s almost impossible to get to whatever we have bought :-) :-)

Have a great day too!

Hi Cindi!
No it´s not rude :-)
I remember that sketch and it was hilarious :-)

I forgot the peroxid in the heat of the moment, but my finger looks ok. Our cold climate keeps most nasty things away from this country so we seldom gets any infections compared to those living further south.

I do hope that too :-) :-) :-)

Have a great day now!

They put that packaging on products because they SELL a special package opener! See, that's commerce! I'm so sorry about your finger, but I couldn't stop laughing, either... very funny... but, bad, too... (hee hee hee, I can't make up my mind!) Sorry about the extra work, but that should keep your mind off your finger... come visit when you can...

Ahhh you make me laugh with his hilarious-tragic stories . You're beyond good photographer I doing a good writer.
Now serious ... says the best remedy is water and soap in court even if you're hurting is enough to disinfect.
I am sorry for you ... it must have mad a lot.
And if you ate yourself ... well ... at least you're not vegetarian.
Take good care of your finger and the rest of you.
About the packaging the industry make very stupid things.

Hi Christer, add my well wishes to everyone else's here. I am late catching up on blog reading. It's still very hot here and we have been doing some outside work. Hope your finger heals OK. You are right that the smallest cuts seem to bleed the most - happens to me all the time.

Enjoy the weekend and don't work TOO hard.

Hi Sharlene!
Oh I didn´t know that there existed pakage opener. I just thought they did like that to annoy us to be honest :-) :-)

The finger is healing great so keep on laughing :-)

Unfortunally my job keeps reminding me of my finger all the time because I don´t want to get to much powder paint in the wound. So I had to change plasters all day :-) :-)

TYou know I´ll visit!
Have a great day now!

Hi Didi!
:-) That was what I intended :-)
Yes water and soap is enough but I usually pour some peroxid on it too, just to be sure.

It actually didn´t hurt at all! Not until I tried to wash the finger, then it did hurt a lot :-)Yesterday was a good day not to be a vegetarian :-) :-)

Have a great day now!
