I´ve gotten another award again :-) This time it´s from Rox, she writes the blog "The Natural Catholic". As always I´m glad to get one but useless on sending it forward. I think all blogs I read is worth an award to be honest, otherwise I wouldn´t have read them. So I´ll do like I did the last time, do half of it :-) I´m supposed to write seven things about me and since that was what I had to do the last time I´ll need till tomorrow to figure out what I´m going to tell You this time :-)
Thanks Rox! I´m very happy to get this!

Bertil was out all night and when he came in he fell asleep by the window :-)

May lily.

Lily of the vally.

It´s raining again here and I can hear the mosquitoes cheering outside :-) I´m happy that this also is a very windy place so most of them are blown away by the winds :-) It´ll be a calm summer this year with my luck :-) :-)

Honeysuckle.

Rhododendron 'Nova zembla'.

I´ve been arguing with my computor for over an hour now. We don´t agree on anything at the moment. Suddenly it disconnects the internet connection and refuses to open it again telling me that someone already is using that connection??!! I was!! The only way to be able to get out there again is to restart the computor. I´m not sure if this has anything to do with the fact that I just downloaded my anti virus program. I now use F-secure. I think that´s the best we have and it is avalible by the internet and phone company I have. I had Norton before that that program didn´t take much when it came to spy ware. So back then I had to have to different programs. If You need a good anti spy ware program use Spy bot. It´s really good and free of charge!

My neighbours rhododendron 'Catawbiense blue'.

I bought some special potatoes yesterday. We call them 'Almond potatoes'. Not because of the taste, but for the shape on them. They do taste really nice but are seldome avalible here in southern Sweden. If we grow them here they´ll usually be very watery and doesn´t taste especially nice at all. But an old gardener tolde me once that if we plant it here after midsummer it´´ turn out just like in northern Sweden. I´ve tried it several times and it works. This sort needs to feel that the days gets shorter to proiduce good potatoes You see. So when I´ll plant them I´ll give You a tip or two about potatoe planting.

Now it´s time for a cup of tea and then I´ll be out there in cyber space reading Your blogs!
Have a great day now!

i wonder if your almond potatoes are what we call fingerlings? we have a beautiful day today but the heat returns tomorrow. i have a little teddy story i think you will enjoy. the slugs are eating all of my marigolds. i went out yesterday and picked lots of them off by hand but it was really gross. so i went out and bought some beer. this morning i went around and poured beer in little dished and covered them with flower pots so i could trap the slugs. i ran out of pots so one dish of beer was exposed. i went out about an hour later and the plate was empty except for one dead slug. teddy had been sleeping inside during this whole time. so i poured the rest of the beer in the dish and went to pull a few weeds and turned around a few seconds later and there was teddy on top of the raised bed drinking the beer. i am looking into puppy rehabs!

Oh, Octoberfarm, that is toooo funny. Teddy needs the beer, though, after you took away all the trees!
Christer, your pix are gorgeous and I'm looking forward to the potato planting instructions. You have a great blog, as usual...

Hi Z&M!
The honeysuckle doesn´t just look wonderful, it smells wonderful too :-)

I´m not sure what kind of tiles that is, but I know it´s not tin. I think it´s old ones containing asbestos. As long as they don´t break and start dusting they are harmless. But then again, all asbestos isn´t dangerous.

Bertil slept very deep, not much of a guard I can say :-) :-)
Have a great day now!

Hi Joyce!
I think it is another potatoe that You call fingerlings. We have a very old sort that we call asparagus potatoe and they would fit perfect with that name. These are much bigger, but with an almondy shape. I´ll take a photo of them.

Wonderful story :-) :-) :-)A good thing our dogs can´t open bottles :-) :-) :-) But who can blame her? Beer does taste very nice :-)
Have a great day now!

have you tried the "asparagus potatos"!? They are even better than the almond ones.
If you cut them in coins (with the scin), then boil them for 5-6 min. and bake them in the oven with a little oliv oil, salt, blackpeppar and thyme - mmmmmmm!

Tjänare Susie!

Oh Yes, they are the best potatoes :-) But they also contain very much of solanin. But I´ve never managed to get the swedish almond potatoe, only the danish.
Have a great day now!
