The flowers of the Guelder-rose. The big flashy ones on the edges are sterile and are there just to make pollinators come to it. The ones in the middle are the important ones, but they are still bud yet.
It´s been warm, but cloudy all day today and when we finished work the rain came. It poured down so har that it was difficult to see the road some times. But now the clouds slowly thinns out and the sun has shined a short while. But they have warned for thunderstorms so this is just a break before the storm hits I belive.
I got a mail yesterday from a good friend in Main, AliceMary. She sent me a link from the New York Times about swedish men and paternal leave. Bulgarian geranium, Geranium macrorrhizum. A rather beautiful ground cover geranium, but the leafs smells awful when touched.
Tomorrow is a big day here in Sweden, our Crown princess is getting married with a man from the "common people" Well there´s not so many princes left in the world to be honest :-)´
I´m not a royalist in that way that I think they are really important or something like that, but I do think they gives us better PR than a president. What do You find most interesting? That the swedish president and his wife comes for a visit or that the king and queen from Sweden comes for a visit? There are fifteen president on the dozen to be honest.But kings and queens are rare :-)

Cinnamon rose, Rosa majalis. This one will get three colors if I´m lucky. White, rose and red.Unfortunally it hasn´t gotten its name because of its scent, but because of the colors of the stems.

hi christer...i read that about your royalty marrying a commoner. i added the cauliflower to the curry. it did not call for it so it could easily be left out or substituted. i just watched the USA tie slovenia. we really should have won that game. the ref was awful. i am watching england play this afternoon. i never watched soccer until now but i love it and am now a fan!

Definitely Kings and Queens are more popular to visit. Lovely photos today Christer. The ground cover is all greens and very beautiful. You are lucky to have your little piece of paradise dressed up for the summer. So who owns the barn, cottage,in the top photo from yesterday's post?
My grandchildren have play soccer from age 6, and one of the granddaughters still plays. She is in college now. I have watched her but other then that I have not. I did read about it in the papers today... :) Seems to be lots going on there.
King or President? Well, I guess if you don't like your King there is nothing you can do about it. Here he can be voted out or if a real rascal, impeached.
Being a Fairy Tale fan, Kings and
Queens and royality is always interesting to me...and I watch every movie or documentary I can find about Monarchies. Really interesting.

Yes I am lucky :-)Few people gets the chance to live like I do here. Surveys shows that most sweeds wants to live like I do if they could.
Since I don´t think that property is sold yet it still belongs to Bjurums castle. But I know they wants to sell it.

Soccer is really popular all over the world and it´s a good thing it has become a rather popular sport in the US too. But it is still rather small compared to American football ofcourse :-)
I think You are not allone feeling like that about royalties in the US or on many other places in the world :-) Our royal house behaves and makes very few scandals so I thinkwe should keep them.
I think Your wheel barrow is great. Light and easy to carry around when not needed. But I do think You need a very even lawn. Here it just would get stuck in all holes my dogs makes :-) :-) :-)

Så mycket tjafs om det där med "överlämnandet" av bruden, när ändå hela proceduren är så antik att bruden måste be om lov av fadern och riksdagen om hon kan få gifta sig med den hon vill...
Men, jag kan tänka mig att halvavägen-kompromissen tillfredställde alla andra utom de grälsjuka;))!
Det var vackert och mäktigt och här hemma räckte näsdukarna knappt till!
Monarkin är ett fantastisk kulturarv i Sverige och inte alls dyrare än en republik med hela apparaturen från presidentval till - you name it.
Själv är jag inte rojalist men väl pragmatiker: varför förändra något så välfungerande som Sveriges styrelseskick?!(Alltså en "retorisk" kommentar till alla som vill avskaffa monarkin i Sverige)
Den formella och konstitutionella makten ligger ändå hos folket i detta land.
Om jag hade något att säga till om skulle jag vilja ha en bättre fungerande närdemokrati.
Visst var bröllopet fint? Och så underbar afton kvällen innan i Konserthuset!

hade faktiskt glömt av att hon var tvungen att be kung och riksdag om lov! Fast jag måste erkänna att jag inte gillar seden att lämna över bruden som en ägodel. Nu fick ju alla nästan som de ville i alla fall :-) :-)
Såg däremot inte mycket av bröllopet. Sov middag och vaknade strax innan det började, så jag tog två bilder som visas i dagens blogg. Sedan var jag nöjd och glad :-)
Jag tycker också att vi skall ha kvar det som der är nu. Finns ingen anledning att byta något som fungerar så bra som det gör!
Här är så kallt att jag helst håller mig inne, trädgården får klara sig bäst den kan :-) :-)
