Wood anemone. If You click on the photo so it gets bigger You can see small water drops on the petals.

May first is another important day in Sweden, over all of Europé to be honest. It´s a national holiday and one of the few non religious. It´s the workers day today and demonstrations will be held all over the country. It used to be a day were lots of workers were out demonstrating for better living conditions and back than it lots of people were out. Nowdyas most takes it as a family holiday going on picknicks or to the countryside.

They came with this digger yesterday, it was really close to rip down our telephone cables hanging in the air :-)
They are going to use it to dig up tree stumps like the one in the photo below. They are going to make chips of them and then perhaps firelogs I´ll have in my stove :-) Yes the forestowner will make some money out of it, but by taking away the tree stumps they also take away much of the nutrients that new trees must have to grow. So in a couple of years he must fertilize all places where they have taken away the tree stumps and that costs money.

If it hadn´t been for the rather bad weather I think this year would have gathered more people than it has for a long time. It´s election year and it seemes that the governement is going to loose this time. We´re having a right wing governement at the moment and they have changed the laws towards the sick and employeed and made it very difficult for them. The laws had to be strickter but they went to far. Suddenly people dying in cancer was supposed to be healthy enough to work and didn´t get sick pay! One of them died one week after being declared healthy. They have made a lot of changes during the time that has passed, but these things should have been dealt with before changing the laws.

We went down to the creek yesterday afternoon. Naturally it started to rain as soon as we left home :-)

The opposition has promised to give us much higher taxes (we already have the highest in the world) But since we know those taxes will make us keep what we have in health care, education and other thinge we´re used to have. Have You heard about people wanting to have higher taxes before :-) :-) :-) I´m going to wote for the opposition :-)

Soon the marsh marigolds flowers. The one in my pond is way behind.

Well it´s no weather to be outside today. Not especially warm and the winds are strong and now and again somne rain falls down. Not even my dogs or cats wants to stay outside to long now :-) I think I´ll make some tea and later take a small nap :-)

Have a great day now!

Hi Joyce!
It´s the opposition that want to raise our taxes :-) But most sweeds are willing to pay more in taxes since we do get a lot for it. My hip surgery for instance only costed me around 70 US dollars! So even if I´m a rather low payed painter I don´t mind :-)

I wish You could get soem of our cooler weather :-)

I saw that Pittsburg won last night! Congratulations!
Have a great day in the storm now!
Christer.

I love that last photo; it gives me that odd familiar feeling, again. And I think the tone and colours are just right.

I understand about wanting higher taxes; not that I want them, but I'd rather have them than having to pay for my health care, to be honest. I'm not sure how many would agree.

Hi Perovskia!

Even the right wing polititins over here wants the health care system to be payed by taxes thankfully. It´s easier to keep the costs low for those that rules then. I wouldn´t want it like it is inthe US today!
Have a great day now!

Hi, Christer

It gets very heated over here when we mention taxes. People think that the services they use and take for granted shouldn't cost anything. They don't want taxes but then complain that Medicaid won't cover their medical bills. Oh, well.

It's lovely and warm here today. Hazy sun and about 67F. I took my dog for a walk and took lots of photos of flowers.
Happy nap and happy May Day.

We will hit 110 degrees today Christer and already the humidity is so high it feels like being in an oven out there. I had to help put our new ground cover down in the bushes along the garage wall and had to come inside. It's hot! Sorry to read your taxes will soon go up. Ours in the US are much too high and salaries don't go up to make it easier on the middle class. Have a nice nap.

Hi Caryn!
We actually don´t mind our taxes as long as we know we get some for it :-) and we do get a lot.

The sun finally came to us and the clouds dissapered. That probably will give us frost tonight :-)
Have a great day now!

Hi Z&M!
So hot already!! We almost never reaches those temperatures over here :-) :-) It´s better to stay in the shade those days!

I don´t mind higher taxes because then I know we still will have our cheap healthcare and our great social security net.

Your taxes are so low in comparence to ours :-) :-):-) The taxburdon in the US is around 26,9%and here in Sweden it´s 47,1%!
Have a great day now!

Oh no! It's back to work on Monday..but then maybe you are ready for it and you won't have to get out and dig your little car out of the snow! The dogs and the cats will miss you!!! It's back to the old routine. You aren't working a full day at first are you?
The pictures a beautiful as usual.
I wish we had tree's like that...I think there are more north and east of us...
Take care Christer and enjoy your tea and nap. I am off to do the same. Nothing at all at garage sales today...except for a cute garden sign and three pots to go in a pot holder on the patio wall. That was it.. :)
Take care,
Mona :)
