We have lots of Red Elderberry in our forest. I love the shape of these bushes and they are amongst the first ones to get leafs too.

The weather isn´t especially inviting today. It´s raining some, it´s blowing some and it´s not that warm either. But combiened these things does that the rest of the snow is melting even faster. So I welcome it :-)

Red Elderberry leaf and flowerbud.

But I and my dogs were able to take most of our morning walk before the rain started. We went into the forest and out on to the peninsula that leads out to the bog. Most of the snow and ice are gone from the road, but there are still lots of twigs and branches lying after the thinning of the forest last winter.

I didn´t get that many photo´s when we were walking, so I thought I could show what to expect in my garden soon. I never saves any of my photo´s so this is a copy from a copy so the quality isn´t the best on these comming ones. This is a Hepatica nobilis.
A Trillium hybrid.
I walked as careful as I could with my crutch and came half way out to the big ditch without troubles. My dogs loves running around there and it´s perfect in the way that they do get wet, but not durty :-) It was a bit difficult to take photo´s though, because the sky is dark grey and the trees made it even darker.

Anemone ranunculoides, the Yellow wood anemone.

I had made it almost all of the way back to the road when it happened. My right foot got stuck under a couple of twigs and I fell like a tree in a storm :-) I got a bit worried that something had happened to my new hip implants, but it seemes that´s the only place it doesn´t hurt right now :-):-)

One of my Helleboruses, Christmas roses.

I twisted most of my back and my neck and I think I might have broken or twisted my right wrist. My back and neck are slowly getting better but my wrist still hurts a lot. If the pain doesn´t go away by tomorrow I´ll go to the emergency so thay can x-ray it. But I´m hoping for the best :-) I´m a bit tired of hospitals now :-) :-)
But now I´ll make a pot of tea, some sandwiches and put wood in the stove. I think I´ll stay indoors most of today :-)

Have a great day now!

Hi Weena!
Sometimes one has to much to do, but I´m very glad to see You back here :-)

My wrist is better now, but I feel there´s still a way to go to say that it´s good. But I don´t think it´s broken anyway. The important thing is that my hip got through the fall ok :-)

I wish we already were there when these flowers are in bloom, but it´ll only take a couple of weeks I hope :-)

I´ll check in to Your blog later today then :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

hi christer....i remember my sister after her hip transplants being so careful not to fall and she fell each time. after the last time she said that as soon as she gets out of the hospital she might as well just fall down and get it over with. my hellebores have all bloomed. it is rainy and cold here today. a good day to stay inside. my Blog Tech is coming over in a bit to put up the new spring design. my blog would suffer so much if i didn't have him to help me!!!! joyce

You were lucky Christer. Must take it easy during this recovery time as pushing your body is not such a good idea. Maybe shorter walks or wait till the ground is hard again. Stretching exercises are good, meditation, some push ups where you hold your body off the ground. Whatever is comfortable to keep the blood circulating. Lovely images today and the Christmas flower is appropriately named, isn't it?

Hi Angie!
It still hurts a bit in my wrist, but I don´t think it´s broken. I do hope it´ll stop aicing by tomorrow.

Well it´s still some time until any flowers will bloom here, but it´s nice to know that it´s comming :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Good morning, Christer!

So nice to see you...glad to hear that your recovery is going well...even if you fell! I know its gotta be stressful trying not to "injure" an injury that's been fixed!

Thank you for the beautiful pictures of spring! As always, they are magnificent. I really need to get my little ones to our local nature center or arboretum for some nature to love on! Haven't seen much bloom around here...not even the daffodils...yet. I've seen their bright green leave poking up amongst the wood chips.

Keep healing...and I'll say a quick prayer that you didn't fracture your wrist!

Hi Joyce!
Yes it´s an accident waiting to happen :-) :-)

So the hellebores has already bloomed by You! I think it´ll take at least a couple of weeks until they do here. I especially looks forward to see if some of the older seedlings will bloom this year and how they will look :-)

I decided already from the beginning that my blog never would change looks :-) :-) It´s so much easier :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Z&M!
Well it was mostly unluck today. I had already passed lots of piles with old branches and twigs and just had to pass this one too :-) :-) Thankfully those piles are really soft to fall on :-) :-)

I do other exersizes too, but I jost loves to walk in the forest and out to the bog :-)

I have a white Christmas rose that usually flowers by Christmas, but this year it was so much snow that I have no idea if it did :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Christer.

Hi Valerie!
Nice to see You here again!
Yes the healing process goes fine, exept for an occational fall :-) :-) I don´t think I´ve broken anything now, but I do think I might have a crack in a bone in my wrist. I can walk with my crutch but not move my hand side ways without pain.

I only wish these were flowers in bloom now :-) But it´ll take another week or two before even the hepatica shows its flowers I´m afraid.

Take care now!
Christer.

I'm crazy about trillium and hellebores. They are wonderful.

Loved your comment on my blog. We never forget those little places.

When I lectured in Sweden and traveled the countryside I saw many charming and useful garden sheds.

Loved visiting Carl and Karin Larsson's home.

All joys to you (I now follow your blog postings)

Hi Sharon!
I do like my trilliums and Helleboruses too. Both are self soving in my woodland so it´s always exiting to see how the flowers turns out :-)

So You have been here lecturing! That was fun to know!

Sundborn as their home is called is so besutiful. In a way I think all sweeds would love if their homes looked like that. Carl and Karin Larsson is our most loved artists I think.

Have a great day now!

OH Christer! I was so concerned about that very thing! I am hoping your hips are alright..
I'm just glad you were able to get up and come home. Get better...hope there is no break!
I'm so sorry this happened to you. You certainly didn't need another thing to contend with.
Take care.

I'm looking forward to seeing your springtime unfurl in Sweden. Last year it was glorious! Snow is melting so fast everywhere...though a few new storms have hit in the states. Back east of course.

Hoppas du mår bättre i morgon.

It's always something, isn't it...just notice I had some extra funds in my account and, when I turned the corner to the house, my transmission went out...but the flower stems are about 7 inches above ground and, pretty soon, spring will have spread her joy. Please take care of your wrist and watch where you walk in the woods. We wouldn't want to miss your blog.

Hi Mona!
My hips are ok, but the rest of my body seemes to be acing all over :-) :-) I think I twisted most of it when trying to fall on the rtight side :-) :-) :-) But that will be ok during the day I think. My wrist could be better, but I don´t think anything is broken though. I can use my hand to do anything but it does hurt a bit when moving my hand side ways. Well it isn´t swollen so I thiunk it´ll be ok in a couple of days.

I´m soo looking forward to spring too! It will become rather warm towards Friday, but then the cold weather will come back they say. I hope they are wrong :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Christer.

Hi Sharlene!
Yes it´s always something :-) :-) I never even dares to think that I might have some money left, something always breakes then :-) :-) :-)

The only thing abowe the ground here are the Snowdrops, the rest of my flowers are still sleeping under ground. But I am amazed over how fast the snow has melted here. A week ago and I had half a yard of it in my garden, now almost all of it is gone :-)

I promise to watch out better when walking around :-)
Have a great day now!
Christere.

Hej!

The cottage by the Cranelake said...

Christer.
