This is a good part of the road. I can walk on the edge of the road where the ground can be seen otherwise it´s just shiny ice. But I do have troubles getting over the road to that side of it :-) :-)

I´m a bit of a prisoner in my own home at the moment. Warm weather and a very light rain this last night has made the roads shiny of slippery ice. I might be able to walk on flat ground, but as soon as there´s comming a slight slope I will get in troubles :-) :-)

Today it´s cloudy and foggy. You can see where I have spread the ashes on the snow that it has melted a bit faster there. But I´m not sure it was worth it since white snow is so much nicer to look at :-)

Yesterday was much nicer when it comes to the weather. The sun shined and we reached over 7,4C (45F)

The chimney sweeper where here yesterday and I asked if possibly they sold that kind of cement I need to repaire the stove inside. But no one seemes to know where to get it. Iknow one place down in Gothenburg but there must be a place closer to home. I mean it´s here we use those old fire heated stoves, not in Gothenburg :-) :-)

Othewise I have nothing special to say today. The first Crane has come to the frozen lake and I know some geese has too. Despite the warm winds and the light rain we still have more snow here than we´ve had all together for the last ten years :-)

The melting water makes small rivers on the road.

Now it´s time to phone the grocery store in Gudhem to make my order. This will be tha last time I have to do that. I´m counting on that I can drive myself from next Monday. That is if I can move my car from where it stands now on that shiny ice :-) :-)

Have a great day now!

Picturesque as we find things here daily, always worth stopping by and saying "Hi" to Christer. I particularly like the side of that barn. It reminds me of an old road I traveled to get to a small private school in upstate Michigan, so close to the Canadian border one could see Canada across Lake Michigan. It was freezing weather there too. But I would travel this back road to the school daily and see barns like the one in the first photo. Wonderful memory, thanks. I hope you're not house bound for long. I found that the worst part of recovery and wanting to get out to a restaurant to have a dinner out was on my wish list. Couldn't wait to do outdoor things. But take it easy. You gotta let the body heal.

Well, good morning, Christer! For someone who had nothing to say, I was happy to be here and listen.
Thank you for the St. Patrick's Day good wishes. My day was wonderful..lots of wonderful corned beef and cabbage, homemade breads, scalloped potatoes..and wonderful little shamrock cookies made with fresh lemon zest. Yes, it was a good day!
I agree that the snow looks better without the ash... :) But then what do I know about snow! NOTHING!
I would not want to be driving right now in your area anyway. Soon now everything will be green.
Drink tea, sleep, blog and enjoy life because soon you will be driving to work once again! :)
Just sayin' as they say here in America.

p.s. I just wanted to add that it was 85 degree's here yesterday. Poor Howard mowed the lawn and was all red in the face. I put a new top on my lawn swing...and got over heated just doing that..and it's in the shade!!! Spring is coming and so is summer! And remember this...yours is going to be a lot prettier than mine. NO smog where you live! :)

Christer,
I can only imagine the refief you must feel knowing you'll be back to driving. It's liking getting your freedon back.

It is so lovely here that I just spent a couple of hours on the deck in the sun. I am hopeful that soon you too will be enjoying the stirrings of spring.

Hi Kat!
Yes, I will feel free when I can drive again! It´s one of the few things that I really miss. It´s working fine ordering food from the grocery store, but I do want to get out on the road again :-)

As long as we have warm weather I´m happy :-) With a bit of luck saturday will be all sunny and then I´ll make a try with my car :-)
Have a great day now!

Hi Christer
Your blog is never uninteresting. Glad to hear you are having some warmer weather.
We also have trouble getting the fire mud(our words for the stuff) for our wood fire. It is so annoying when you have to go miles out of your way. I think next time we will see how long it lasts, and order some more and keep it air tight in a container.
We had new fire bricks and mud put in our last year. Mind you compared to your climate ours in winter is very mild.

Hope your St.Patty's day was great, even though you were housebound. Those days will be behind you, before long; don't worry. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Aussimade!
The warmer winds really has made the snow melting fast now! I can see grass out on the fields where there were half a meter of snow before :-)

It´s strange though, it´s us here on the country side that uses that fire mud, so why don´t they sell it around here. But I think I´ll do like You, buy extra and keep it in a air tight container.

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Sharlene!
We don´t celebrate St. Patrick over here. We actully only celebrate one catholic saint and that St. Lucia. Otherwise this country has been very strickt protestant Lutheran, no saint at all.

I hope I can be driving already on Monday, that is if the tires are ok :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
