Since they have done no places where the melting water can flow out from the road, small lakes are being made. A bit difficult to pass with crutches :-)

It might have been tha last really cold night this winter that we just have passed. Tomorrow lowpressures will start flying over our snow white fields and forests. But it might just be a short break with some warm winds before the next session with cold arctic winds starts again :-)

Here is the newly plowed road. Must have been difficult to plow since the snow now is so compressed that it reminds more of ice than snow.

I can´t open my garage doors. The meltwater from the snow on the garage roof has frozen in front of the doors so now it´s impossible to open them up :-) My car stands on that shiny ice too, so at the moment it´s impossible to get it up on the road again :-) I could put an old rug behind the front weels, that would give the grip needed, but than I have to do it every time I ned to use the car (and to be honest, I´m not that good in my leg to be able to do that at all right now :-) ). I do hope the comming lowpressures will melt away enough snow and ice so the water can continue down to the field benieth my garage.

Once upon a time there was a croft here, the last one before the bog. It must have been over 100 years ago and the only thing showing it has been a cottage here are the Lilacs in the bacground. They don´t grow wild here.

The forestowner has plowed up another road I can walk on now :-) It works as long as the nights are as cold as they are now, even if he plowed real well, there are places on that road that still has over 15cm (6 inches) of snow. Perhaps snow is the wrong word now, it´s so compressed that it really is more like fragile ice. When the sun reaches it I will sink down like Titanic did after hitting that iceberg :-) :-)

I have no idea what this big box contains. I didn´t even know that it stood there until the snow started to melt away :-)

Otherwise this day will be as calm and quiet as all other days here in the village. The sun is shining and I will most probably make a cup of tea or coffee and sit down outside on my kitchen stairs just enjoying life. Or perhaps get irritated over something. I´ve noticed that it´s far to easy to get irritated when one doesn´t have that much to do during the days :-) :-)

Have a great day now!

By enlarging the photo's, it was almost like standing right there on the road. It is amazing how quickly the snow melts. I have noticed it also on Jaz's blog. There one day and gone the next. Anyway..I loved being able to see the dogs far in the background.
I wish my dog could have that kind of freedom instead of always having to be fenced in that rather small back yard. I don't get out and walk her like I should. I take her to my daughters and she flies around the yard madly, stretching her little legs. Your dogs are so lucky.
I am always amazed at Bertil letting his little feet get wet and cold!
Things like dealing with the ice in front of your garage door..I have to say I am glad I don't have that.
Be really careful you don't fall out there on ice. You would be hard put to get back up if you were really injured. You are more vulnerable after that surgery. But then I'm sure you know that! :)
Sounds like you are being really careful. The car in the ice. You can't drive yet anyway...right? :)
Beautiful scenery...just beautiful!

Wonderful photo images today and the kitties make it seem like a storybook. I just know there are gold coins in that old box. You should look. Maybe stolen treasure off an old rig that Pirates raided. Don't forget your history. Those Vikings were everywhere on Earth all at one time it seems. We even have relics found in the State of Oregon belonging to them. Open that box and you can retire. I'm sure of it. On another subject do you think you can drive with your hip being so new? I would think it would put undo pressure on your body to try that.

Hi Mona!
But still, when walking here every day it´s hard to see that it melts at all. Only on those places where the ground already showed.

Yes, I guess my dogs are lucky. Dogs in the city has very few places they can run around and play in. Here everywhere is play ground :-) :-) Bertil belives he´s a dog, so being weat on his little feet doesn´t bother him at all :-) :-)

I promise to be careful around icy places. This is not the time to fall so to speak :-) The risk of my hip popping out is to big yet.

Well I can drive it now, but my leg is somewhat unstabile and I haven´t much strength in it yet. But I´m planning on driving next week :-) Hopefully most of the ice around my car is gone by then!
Have a great day now!

Hi Z&M!
Unfortunally most people around here back then were farmers, not Vikings :-) But sometimes we do find gold here too. I think I´ll check out that box tomorrow. It would be nice with an early retirement :-) :-) :-)

I´m pretty sure I could drive already by now, but my leg is weak and a bit unstable so I´ll wait until next week. With a bit of luck most of that ice has melted then :-)
Have a great day now!

Hi Joyce!
I´m very close to cabin fever now :-) :-) To be so restricted to where I can go and when (later during the day the ice is so lsippery that I can´t walk in some places) makes me sort of crazy :-) :-)

It looks like my garden have managed to go through all this snow without any damages, but we got the snow during a longer period. You got it all at once!

Yes, lots of reading now otherwise I would go mad :-)
Have a great day now!

It's like a mini-vacation every time I look at your photos. Thank you, so much, for sharing. I think you have to check out the box, immediately. There could be any number of adventures in there, bad hip or no. We must know what it contains...

Hi Sharlene!
I´m just about to take my morning walk, so I´ll look inside it when we pass it :-)
Have a great day now!

Hi Splendid!
I can´t but agree that this is a fairy tale place :-) I´m quite convinced that there is gnomes, trolls and God knows what living here on the bog :-)

Wow, I think it's amazing that Bertil can follow you on your walks! Without a leash! How did you ever manage to train him to do so? I have a cat too but she would never be as obedient. Nor as clever!

The cottage by the Cranelake said...

Hi F.O!
Welcome to my little blog :-)

Bertil just does this natural, I´ve never trained him at all. Hir orange brother, Teodor, does the same when he feels like it. But he has a tendensy to shout all the way when doing so :-)

Have a great dat now!
Christer.
