It was a bit tricky ta get pass this icy little lake this morning :-)

Now is the time that we most likely can hear rifles sounding over the area. Is it a new hunting season You might ask Your self? No it´s not and the shots are blanks too. This is the time we really get tired of our Jackdaws (Kajor). I love those birds because they are funny, as intelligent as an intelligent parrot and they can learn how to talk too.

Old Erna and Bertil the cat kept company most of the time.

But they have a habit we really don´t like, they build their nests in chimneys. We all have some kind of protection on our chimneys, like a net but that doesn´t stop them from trying :-) Even if they can´t break through the net, they can get small sticks and other things used to build the nest down the small holes in the nets :-) :-) Since I don´t have a rifle I start a small fire several times every day in my stove. If I can find things that smokes a lot the better. Then the Jackdaws can see how stupid it would be to build a nest in my chimney :-) But that doesn´t always help either.

While Orvar and Hector fought over sticks :-)

The sun is shining and it´s over freezing point now, but it´s not as nice as it was a couple of days ago. The arctic winds might not blow hard, but they don´t have to. The cold air does push away anything that is even close to spring. If we are unlucky this continues through April too. But I do hope it will turn soon, my tomatoe seeds has started to germinate now You see :-) Well, now it´s time for a cup of tea and then I think I´ll watch some skiing on tv.

Have a great day now!

The road is plowed all the way down to the creek now, but it´s still a bit far for me to walk. But I guess I´m there in a couple of days.

Life seems to be returning to normal over there. Good. I love to read about the birds building nests in the chimneys. Most of us don't have that problem here in Florida because few houses even have chimneys. But the screening they use here with caps on them really do prevent critters from building nests. I had to pay $300 to put a new one on mine because hurricane winds blew the old one off. It probably landed in the next county. Love the photos today too. Sounds like you're on the mend and ready to try longer walks. That's good! Enjoy your tea.

Hi Z&M!
Yes it´s really turning back towards normal. I only wish I had more roads to walk on. But I see myself lucky that they plowed a couple of extra roads this week.

Even if Jacdaws realises that they can´t build a nest in the chimney, doesn´t mean they don´t throw sticks down them :-) :-) I had to call the chimney sweeper one extra time last year just to get rid of loads of sticks :-) :-)

Have a great day now!

hi christer.....today is the st. patrick's day celebration here. everyone is out on the streets dressed in green and stinking drunk. i went to the store early and stayed in the rest of the day. teddy kept barking because she could hear all the drunks off in the distance. what a crazy day. you should be healed in time for springs arrival! joyce

Hi Joyce!
Good thing to stay in a day like St. Patricks :-) :-) I understand it can be somewhat wild sometimes :-) :-)

Everything goes according to plan, I just wish it could be a bit warmer now :-)
Have a great day now!

Yes, I can see the snow thinning on the sides of the bank...soon the tree's will start to turn that lovely shade of green. New leaf green. :)
It still looks awfully cold to me!

Hi Mona!
It is awfully cold, that I can assure You :-) :-) :-) But the sun is able to melt away at least some snow during the day. I can´t wait until it´s gone and things turns towards green again!
Have a great day now!

I love the "I found it first!"... "NO, I DID!" shot of Ovar and Hector. :)

Hi Mona!
They do get a bit to much into the game with sticks sometimes. So after this photo they weren´t allowed to play with sticks again. They are seldome angry at each other, but it was close this time :-)
Take care now!
Christer.
