You can always click on all photo´s to make them bigger. They´ll get better then.

It has been really warm today, 30,5C (87,1F). Not normal summer temperatures up here. If I had been at home I would most lilkly have enjoyed it tremendously, but at work it was justr awful. I´m used to it by now, but those just working during the summer suffered a lot (well I wouldn´t say I didn´t, but I atleast knows this from before :-) :-)  ). But the weekend has started and it´ll be even hotter tomorrow :-)

I have a really fantasticly beautiful way to work. Most of the way the road is winding like a coiling snake. It starts with open fields where I can seeanything from flocks of cranes to deers and mooses. Lots of cattle is walking around there too and sometimes I´m lucky enough to see a new born calf. This morning I saw two foxes just by the road (and I didn´t see their corpses when I drove home wich is a good sign I think). Later on comes the forest with small glades where cottages and houses fill up the space.

You´ll have to click on this photo if You want to see what I have photographed :-) The teenager cranes still walks around on the fields.

After a while I get out on the expressway. Normally no fun roads to drive at, but I´m almost alone early in the morning. The road follows the forest for a while with more glades, a river and a small lake. Normally I can see two swans simming around at the lake when I pass. By now there must be young ones too. After that the fields and farms comes again and one strip club.

Saint John´s wort.

Every one got surprised when that club opened one day! It´s not really the place such a club opens up here. Every one knows each other very well and every one keeps their eyes open :-) One can´t go there without every one in the county knows it within ten minutes :-) :-) :-) But the girls are treated well, the owner has cleaned up the surroundings and no alcohol is served. So now we´ve sort of gotten used to the place :-) :-)

After that I turn in to a winding road again. Now I pass a stud farm and almost every day now I have seen new born foals. Unfortunatly this road has rather much traffic, many people working in the village Kvänum drives there, so I can´t take any photo´s of them. But it is wonderful to see how they tries to stand up and take their first steps :-) After that I pass farms with big fields filled with wheat, rapeseed, flax and grass. It´s so beautiful! Now the wild roses, poppy and other wild flowers are in bloom too :-)

Not far from work I pass the stables for one of swedens most famous horse trainers (for competing in trotting). Sometimes he and his empoyess starts the training early, so if I´m lucky I can see them on the tracks that follows the road. After that it´s more open fields and a beautiful church with an old grave yard. I could have worse ways to my work, couldn´t I :-)

One of my neighbours (the one I bought my cottage from). I really like how this place looks like.

Every Friday I drive to Gudhem and the grocery store there. Then I´ll drive on even more winding roads up on the mountine You often can see in my photo´s. That road is even more beautiful, but I´ll tell You about that another day. Now it´s time for some tea and then out to visit You all.
Have a great day now!

Hi Z&M!
Cranes are so beautiful! But this time of year they won´t let me come any closer.

That road is simply fantastic :-)
Have a great day now!

Tjänare Monne!
Visst blir man hemmablind! Men idag slog nog alla nyponrósor ut samtidigt längs vägen, plus all vallmo, blåklint ...... Då fick jag upp ögonen igen :-)

Vägen på berget till Gudhem är otroligt vacker. Det finns en berömd rosodlare vars hem jag passerar då. Det brukar komma några tusen personer när han har sin öppne helg :-)
Ha det gott!
Christer.

Yes, you are most fortunate to have such a beautiful drive to work! The poor people in this country..at least in California, do not have such a thing. They must get on a freeway that can quickly turn into a parking lot for miles and miles.
I used to have to do it once a month..thank heavens, because I dreaded just that one day. I cannot even imagine how it must be for those that must drive it daily.

I always smile when I see the houses, etc. that you photograph. I am in wonder that they are ALL painted in my favorite color!

With your great description of your drive, it is almost like being there. It give all of us who follow your blog...and wonderful insite to what your country looks like. At least for the most part. No large shopping malls? I cannot even imagine...well yes I can.
Great post, Christer and thanks for adding the pictures of the dogs! Always, always my favorites!!

Hi Christer..yes..there is a song by Barbara Steisand...and I think Bette sang it also, but I'm not sure.
One of the verses...
..I'm wearing second hand clothes
Second hand hose
All the girls hand me their second hand beaus..
Once when strolling through the
Ritz a girl got my goat
She nudged her friend
And said "Oh look there goes my old fur coat"

My decorating is "Early Goodwill"..
:)
Take care Christer!

Hi Mona!
I think it´s much worse if You only drive it once a month instead of every day. Things does fast become habits and mostly boring :-) But I´ve seen films and photo´s of Your roads in rush hour, terrible!

No shopping malls here for miles and miles :-) Wouldn´t fit in with our red houses You know :-) :-) But they do have a smaller mall in Lidköping and two bigger ones in Skövde. Two towns over 28 miles from my home. Almost a bit to close I feel :-) :-)

I did remember right then, at least that there´s a song like that :-)It´s so many years ago that I heard it, but it sort of got stuck in my head :-) :-)
Have a great day now!

Hi Beatrice!
Soon my four weeks vacation starts, so I´ll get a chance to enjoy what ever weather we´ll have then :-) I hope we´ll get at least some sunny days this year :-) :-)

No photo´s from my way to work. There´s not much traffic, but since the roads are so winding it´s dangerous to stop and get photo´s. But I´ll try to take some now during the vacation. It´s so much easier to find places to park the car and walk around taking photo´s.

Have a great day now!
Christer.
