This is all sunshine we got yesterday. Ten minutes sunset :-)

We haven´t been on any morning walk yet and won´t be either for yet a couple of hours I guess. The rain is pouring down, the winds are strong and it´s only 10,4C (50,9F) outside. According to the weather forcast it won´t get much warmer today either. But it will become warmer already tomorrow when the sun will entre the stage once again.

I almost ordered  a new camera on the web yesterday. I was just a second away to push the order button when I changed my mind :-) I will most probably buy it, but I do think I at least should take a look at it in real life too. It´s a Nikon D3000 and since it does cost around 4400 sweish kronor (that would be around 583 US dollars) I think it´s best that I do know what I´m buying :-) :-) But I´ve read all rewievs about it and all seemes to like it rather well, but that doesn´t mean I will.

There are lots of raspberries in the forest now. Unfortunally ten million flies is so annoying that I really don´t want to stay and pick them.

The crab apple tree outside the dogyard is full of apples. My dogs loves to eat them.

I´ll gets lots of apples in my garden too. But everything is very late here this year, these should be ripe by now.

So I´ll phone the store later today and ask if they have any comming customers can try in the store, because they dont have them in stock there. If they have one I´ll drive there on Monday and then You´ll all see some photo´s from Lidköping on tuesday.

All three flowers here are of the same kind, just different colors.

But for now I´ll just wash my dishes and take it easy for a while. But now I´ll make a pot of tea and then it´ll be morning tv I think.
Have a great day now!

hi christer...i sure wish i had your weather. this is the hottest summer on record here. i have canons and i always wonder if nikons are better. but since i have all the lenses that fit the canons i really can't change. i have done that many times where i am ready to click on buy it now and then i stop. it never hurts to wait and think through these things. i am waiting for a big storm which i hope we get so i don't have to water all day again! joyce

Hi Joyce!
It´s so cold, windy and rainy now that I´ve started the radiators for today. But I wouldn´t want Your heat either to be honest, not for that long a time You´ve had it anyway.

I don´t think it is that big difference between the different camera brands. I think it mostly has to do with the feeling one gets for the camera the first time we hold them in our hands :-)

I´ll drive to Lidköping tomorrow and after that I´ll know what I want :-)
Have a great day in the heat now!
Christer.

Hi Sharlene!
I feel it´s best too feel and see the camera before making a decision. I tried to phone the store today, but this weather is good buissness for them :-)

But we should have a couple of weeks more with summer I feel. If we´re lucky warm winds from Russia will blow in over us once again. But autumn will most probably start to show itself in middle of August.
Have a great day now!

I love Bertil!!!
I never get tired of seeing his little face!
Love the purple flowers!
My apple tree has apples with brown spots and holes!!!
I'm just letting them drop to the ground and throwing them away...sigh.
I like the size of that dog run! I still haven't put my 2 "terrors" in the backyard area (It's Too Hot outside) so they are still going to work with me and Blue.
Try to stay warm and Dry!

Hi Cindi!

I think it is a fungus that attacks Your apples, but they should be edible anyway. Tryt to thinn out the apples in early summer and I think those problems will dissapere. The holes can be made of wasps. It´s so hot over at Yours that they need the moisture they can get from the apples.

It´s a good size on that dogyard. But I can see that my dogs doesn´t use all space the´ve gotten. Mostly they are on two different places digging all day :-) :-)

Have a great day now!

Christer, yes that rain sure looked inviting from where we are as did the cool temperatures (sigh). Still roasting here, but being inside is better; a little rain would be great but very little is what we recently got.

Good luck on the new camera purchase. It is exciting and it seems the most fun is looking, I know that's always the rush that happens to me. And you are so right about how it is better to try out something before buying. We do not have places available nearby to try cameras before buying so I rely on internet reviews. The Nikon D3000 seems like a good digital SLR and from what I read is called "entry level" but you can still use the various Nikon and other amanufacturer's lenses, so I would not stop because of this term. Being curious I checked online ans found many favorable reviews and always negatives too with one stating there was no video capture. One review said there were other camera makers which offered more at a lower cost (Sony was named). I have used Canon digital SLRs and liked them, but am now using digital all-in-one "point & shoot" cameras with a long range zoom lenses. Tried Panasonic and Pentax (bought and then resold on ebay) and now waiting for a Nikon P90 (also bought on ebay).

Good luck to you and we will all look forward to "seeing" the photos from whqatever camera you decided to buy. I am sure you will have a fun time with it!

Hi Beatrice!
It´s still raining and has done so for almost 24 hours now. They said that it would come around two inches but I think we´ve gotten more. The temperature never got over 55F.

I always get stressed when buying a new camera :-) So much to choose from and wich one is the best in that price range? But this one seemes very good and as You say, all other nikon lenses can be used on it.

But I never cared much for video making. I only do it here in my blog once in a while and then the camera I have now is good enough.
Mostly I choose after the feeling I get from the camera and naturally the photo quality. But I don´t need to take my photo´s in sepia color. If I want that I can change the photo in my computer :-)

I´ve never even visited E-bay :-) Perhaps I should check out that place. I´ve heard so much about it.

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Why do you need a new camera at all Christer? These photos you post are excellent. Do you think it will get better quality shots? I would be surprised.

The cottage by the Cranelake said...

Hi Z&M!
No I don´t think my photo´s will get neither better nor worse, but I would like to be able to set my on settings in the camera. I also want to be able to change lenses if I feel like it. So I can use a zoom or a macro lens. The one I have now is limited in those ways.

The one I have now also gets very dirty inside, powderpaint from works gets in to it. The one I want to buy has no gaps like that so durt or paint won´t be able to get in to it so easy. If You look on my photo´s where You can see blue sky You usually can see many dark spots :-) :-) They don´t belong there :-) :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.
I heard that Bonnie calmed down! I´m so happy for that!

Keep those beautiful photos coming Christer. I really enjoy seeing the scenery there, your plants and flowers, your cats and dogs, and the villages and towns near where you live.
Summertime is great, but I love all the seasons, and especially love lightning and thunder storms.

The cottage by the Cranelake said...

Hi Terria!
Photo´s will come wether I have a new camera or not :-)

But with a new camera I might even getb the chance to photograph the lightning :-)
Have a great day now!

I did a painting of an older Black Lab!....

http://oldblackcatboo.blogspot.com/2010/07/i-finished-painting.html

usually I do Golden's or Black cats, but this was done in memory of my lab/newfie mix "Truman" that I had years ago. I'd love to hear what you think, since you have Lab's.

Hi Cindi!
I´ll look at that later. Right now I´m just so tired of computers that I want to throw this one in to a wall :-)
Have a great day now!

It's funny how quickly we advance. It seems like you just got your camera and now you are ready for an even more advanced one. I am so pleased and I hope you get it.
I am already anticipating those huge wonderful photos that some people put on here.
I would love to have one too, but not right now...
One day though, I hope.
As always, I loved your photo's today..

Hi Mona!
The one I have is a great one in that price range. Don´t think one could find a better to be honest. But now it´s full of powder paint :-) and it´ll cost as much to clean it as to buy a new one :-)

I ordered a new one today and they think it might come already this week :-) It will take a long time to learn how to use it right :-) :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.
