We went to the vet Orvar and I on Wednes day. We only had to wait one hour longer than the appoinment said, so we were out from there in no time. Really bad days we can wait up to three hours :-) It´s a popular place and every one knows that emergencies goes first and nobody seemes to mind about waiting a bit longer. They think Orvar might have arthritis, not to uncommon on dogs his size. They ruled out Lyme disease, for now, since the pain always comes at the same place. Lyme disease usually walks around to different places.
So now he´s going on the same medicine his mother does for two weeks. After that we´ll have to wait and see what happens. If the pain comes back they´ll x-ray him. Back in the days arthritis meant a painful life, but with todays medicines that won´t necessary be the case. Old Erna for instance only lives today because of this medicine. Her back is a mess and she got paralysed several times before she got this. Now she´s running around playing like a puppy again :-) But s´he does get mad if she doesn´t win when they fight over sticks :-) :-) :-)
It´s hot, hot, hot outside (and even worse inside :-) :-) ) and I like it :-) There´s unfortunatly no wind to speak of, so now I had to close the kitchen door. Mosquitoes and horse flies sort of destroys the joy of the warm summer weather. Especially when they get indoors. I know have one insect bite on the sole on my left foot, three on my toes and a couple on my hands :-) and these came last night. So now I´ve bought mans best friend, a spray bottle of insectiside :-) :-) :-)
Now It´s only twoo weeks until my vacation starts. I´ve taken the last day of from work before my vacation starts. Hopefully I´ll get all my cats and dogs with me to the vet for their vaccinations that day. For some reason my cats always knows when this will happen and dissaperes a day or two before and returns at the same time I´m comming home with the others :-) :-)
I never remember the name on this one. For a while I thought it might be Camassia, but I think that´s wrong.
Clematis integrifolia. One of the few non climbing clemnatises.
The first flower on a tomatillo plant :-)
Now it´s time for a cup of tea and then out into cyberspace.
Have a great day now!
I have no idea what kind of iris this is at the moment.
Big root geranium 'Biokovo'.

Glad nothing more serious for Orvar. I dread it and it hurts me so much to see my pets in pain.
WOW you're vacation is coming eh? How fun! Thank you for sharing your beautiful pics. They bring so much joy. Have a gorgeous day!
Hi Diane!
It´s always awful when animals suffer in any way. But this seemes to be something we can be able to controle :-)

sweden sure knows how to take care of her people. time off for surgery and big vacation time. very nice. we are about to get way too hot for me starting tomorrow. i can't wait for fall! joyce
I'm glad to hear that it wasn't something more serious for your Orvar. And that they have medication for the pain of his arthritis. Did they say anything about adding fish oil capsules to his diet? To help with his joints! and maybe a glucosamine chondroitin supplement?
OH! I wish I could have a month off!!!! I just had 2 days off and worked out in the garden and worked on putting up a fence and...I need more time! Sigh...
Hi Sharlene!
Yes, really wonderful :-) I only wish we could getr more of it :-) :-) :-)
I´m happy too that it wasn´t worse with Orvar. With a bit of luck it´s just a small injury he gotten while playing and that it´s gone after these two weeks.
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Hi Joyce!
Well I can´t complain anyway :-) :-) :-)
It´s going to be so hot tomorrow here they say, that they won´t even consider having any overtime at the factory. I´m going to be lazy all weekend :-) But I can understand how it must be for You. That heat has been staying a bit to long over at Yours!
Take care in the heat now!
Christer.
Hi balckcat!
Yes, it could have been much worse.
We didn´t talk much about anything yet. We´ll just wait and see whats going to happen. But his sister that injured her back leg some time ago eats glucosamine to help her with her joint. So I´ll start with that too if needed.
Fishoil capsules You say. I´m definatly trying that if it is arthritis. Thanks for the tip!
Yes a whole month and still one week to keep for later :-)I´m going to paint my cottage if the weather is right. Rest of the time I´ll just relax :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
I believe your iris is a siberian. I can relate to what you've been dealing with regarding your dog. We've just been through some tense moments with our Cricket who is 15 years old. The glucosamine is really helping and she is running like a puppy again! Larry
Hi Christer, I take Maggy to the vet for her shots next week. She hates going there and as soon as she smells the office odor, she starts to hiss like a snake. Why Zoey doesn't bother to do that, not sure. Zoey seems to get along with just about any treatment situation. Two Himmies, different attitudes. Maybe you will have to cage the cats a day before the vet appointment so you know they are good to go. Enjoy your tea.
Hi Larry!
I think I´ll agree with You abot that iris. It´s so much smaller than the other sibirian I have so I wasn´t sure (around half the size in height). I got it at an plant exchanging day many years ago and this was the first time it has flowered here.
That glucosamine is really a great thing! You can really see the difference in a very short time. So if Orvar continues having troubles I´ll buy it!
Have a great day and thanks for the help with the iris!
Christer.
Hi Z&M!
Some cats just are like Zoey. They wouldn´t care if the world came to an end :-) :-) I´ve never had that luck to have a cat like that :-) :-)
I think I´ll have to look them inside my home for two days at least to be sur I´ll get them with me to the vet :-) :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
