The morning was fantastic today. The sun shined, birds sang and it was only 9,5C (49f) outside (4:50 am). Almost no flies disturbed us on our walk and I could feel that autumn slowly is comming. The cattle grazed alongside with geese and cranes. Both geese and cranes are now slowly moving back south.

Morning dew on oat. Like corn all the other grains are grasses.

I think the reason that we have that many flies around bogs and wetlands here is that their season is so short. The further north You come the shorter season and since I only live around 530 miles (853km) from the Arctic cirkle I live pretty far north. So all these flies hatch at the same time live their short lives just to lay more eggs for the next season.  Further south insects has a much longer season so they sort of spread out more over the summer than here. If You think I´m a bit obsessed by flies now You´re absolutly right, they drive me mad :-) :-) :-)

The oat i sowed together with different other plants, like this pea. It will all be cut down before it´s ripe and they´ll make silage from it.

Flowering nettles. This is one of the most usefull plants there is. Besides being a veru nutricious vegetable it can be used as one of the best fertilisers and the fibres can be used to make fabric. I´ve heard it´s similar to linnen fabric.

Now I have only four more workingdays until my vacation starts :-) Well it´s five really, but I´ve taken friday of from work so I can get my animals to the vet for vaccinations. This will be a horrible week at work, we will have to work lots of overtime to get some of the work we have finished. We will still have lots of things we can´t manage to paint anyway I´m afraid. It´s a good thing we have lots to do, but it´s never a good thing when we can´t deliver to our customers in time. Normally half of us goes on vacation one week before the other half, but this year they´ve decided to close the factory down for four weeks.Looking at that decision now it wasn´t so wise, but who could have guessed we would have this much to do now? This last year hasn´t gone to the history as one of the better :-) :-) :-)

This will be a hot day and if the weather forcast is correct a cloudy and somewhat rainy day. Most probably thunderstorms too. The rain is welcome, if it show up, because it is very dry at many places here in southern Sweden. Even here by the bog it´s drying up now. There´s almost no water in the big creek and no water at all in the smaller. That on the other hand can be a positive thing, no place for those nasty flies to lay their eggs :-) :-) (If You listen carefully You might here my almost insane laughter now :-) :-) :-)  ).

There were no pot of gold by the end of this rainbow, perhaps it doesn´t work when the rainbow is artifisial :-) :-)

Now it´s time for another cup of tea and then I think I´ll start writing down all those things I´ve learned through the years when it comes to gardening. Like how to do Your own fertilisers without it costing anything or how to germinate different seeds that can be difficult to germinate. One never knows when senility strikes to be honest :-) :-) so it can be a good thing to write these things down.
Have a great day now!

I found this frog in the waterbarrel on the north side of my cottage. At first I thought of moving it to my pond but realised that it would be much safer where it is now. So now it has a pot to stay on if it wants to.

The mighty tiger is taking a sip of water on the hottest part of the day. I can also tell you that he was looking after some fish for dinner :-) :-)

His brother, the mighty leopard, was looking for prey on the wast plains (or trying to hide from the magpies, but that doesn´t sound as cool :-) :-)  ).

Christer.

Christer.

It's really good track their rides through the fields.
Now I live by the sea in a very very hot and to see so much green I feel refreshed :)
I'm curious to see those white packages so perfectly wrapped on the fields.
I was born in the great metropolis then do not understand these things
a good day for you

Now, I understand! Your summer is so short, I thought I missed some posts, but you're only a little over 500 miles from the Arctic Circle! Wow... I'm cold and I'm in the sunny South!... love the pictures, today, and La Famiglia!... just brought my Angel home from the vet and she seems none the worse for wear... have a great day...

Afternoon ana_didi!
Yes it´s perfect walking through these fields, my dogs loves it too.

I used to live by the sea and loved it :-) But The town I lived in had lots of forest within its limits, so I could always go there when I felt for it. The sea is the only thing I miss where I live now.

The white pakages is grass that ferments in there and is great food for cattles and horses.

Have a great day now!

Hi Sharlene!

I always thought that the USA and Sweden were as much north on this little globe of ours. But then I heard that Rome and New York was on the same hight :-) :-) So most of the US is at the same hight as the Sahara desert! Swedens most southern point as almost the same as Alaska.

Great that Your angel is ok. Orvar isn´t good yeat, so that worries me a bit. But he is happy and wants to run around so that´s a relief.
Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Christer,
Now that I live just across the sea, I miss the field. Maybe someday I reach the perfection of having both at the same time.
At least not cost me dream :)
I understand ... but these packages still impress me hahaha

Those flower photos are gorgeous!
I of course adore all your "family" photos. Yesterday I finally got moving and then never stopped until 9 at night. I had to go water at a client of my sisters while she's out of town and then came home and painted parts of my fence and planted the last of my "free" perrennials! It was so hot that I was drenched...but I got it done! I'm ready for Fall!

Hi ana_didi!
That would be a dream to come through! To have fields, forest and ocean at the same time :-)
Have a great day now!

Hi Cindi!
You sort of has to go on the hole time, taking a break would most probably just make You stop for the rest of the day :-) :-) :-)

As long as it is as hot as it is now I won´t be planting anything here. They would only die directly :-) :-)

I´m not quite ready for fall yet :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
