We managed to take our walk before the rain today. Bertil met us on the way so I choosed another part of the forest and he didn´t complain at all. As You might remember he got panic the last time we were out into the forest since he probably thought a fox were comming through the bushes. He stayed close to big Orvar all the time though. I think those two are inseparable nowdays.
It´s fun to see those two together. Big Orvar weighs 99 pounds and Bertil around 4 :-)
I think it´s only one fly left in my cottage now, so I feel no need for talking with a german accent :-) It challanges its fait however. It cirkles around my head and sometimes it lands on the flyswatter :-) But I´m not petty minded, it can have its fun now, I´ll swat it later :-)
Pretty shooting star, Dodecatheon pulchellum. Here we call it "Twelve gods flower because that´s what dodecatheon is said to mean.
The second of my irises to soon bloom. Iris sibirica, I think You call it Sibirian iris in english.
This was something I didn´t want to see, aphids. We call them leaf lice over here. But I saw atleast two Lady bugs. Lady bugs eats aphids and so does their younglings. I can say that from what I saw there will be many younglings close to these aphids :-) :-)
I woke up at two am last night. It itched so much from four mosquitoe bites on my ancle that I just couldn´t sleep. I had to scratch it so hard that it started to bleed and ache instead. When it did that I finally could fall back in to sleep again. Tonight I´ll take the bottle of "itching removing" (that was something I have no idea what it could be called in english :-) :-) :-) but I hope You get what I mean) up to my bed table. Just knowing the bottle will be there will most probably make the itching less terrible.
Aquilegas can look soo different. Just look on this and commimg photo´s.
We have lots to do at work and that´s a good thing of course. But in the same time people have lost their jobs, so why not rehiring some of them? No, it´s better if the ones left works overtime, why that´s better I have no idea though :-) Overtime isn´t especially cheap and there´s always the risk that we will hurt ourselves when becomming tired. I mean, I hurt myself all the time even when I´m not tired :-) :-) :-) So my closest boss will star working at five am and I will stay later until six pm. I refused to work on the weekend, I´m not twenty any more.
This and the next one is called 'Clematiflora'. The flowers on thses aquilegas looks like the ones on clematises.
But now it´s time for a cup of tea and then out into the blog world to read Your blogs!
Have a great day now!
This one is tiny, not even 1,5 cm long (barly half an inch).

Christer those flowers are gorgeous ! do you think we have them here ? They look similar to columbine or what my gramma always called honeysuckle as we'd pinch off the little ball on the end and suck out the nectar . I always think columbine is like drink for the butterflies ☺
I will have to look them up online maybe we do have this flower here .
Hi Christer,
I sympathize with your bug bites. I was out with the dog the other evening and got bitten by mosquitos. We have stuff called After Bite that is supposed to make the itch go away. I ran out so I suffered and have big bumps on my legs and arms.
Rox, aquilegia and columbine are the same thing.
Have a good day.
Hi Rox!
As C so kindly explaines columbines and aquilegia is the same plant. I just couldn´t remember columbine at the moment :-)
They are beautiful and comes in all sizes and shapes nowdays. Bu I do prefere the "normal" looking :-)
That nectar tastes soo nice, even if it´s very little one gets.
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Hi C and welcome to my blog.
The thing we have here is called Salubrin. It works great but smells rather sharp. But who cares when the itching starts :-) :-) :-)
You should see my feet and legs now, not a pretty sigt!
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Så härligt det ser ut med Orvar och Bertil bredvid varandra;) Det är äkta vänskap det! Aklejor är helt underbara, det tycker jag med eftersom det finns i hur många färger, former och storlekar som helst:) Ha det gott/Monne
Lovely pictures and stories! Your pets are so lovely! Well... I mean Bertil and Orvar. Not the bugs!;-)
Love Aquilegias and Dodecatheon! (Guess you already know that!?;-)
Hi Christer,
C is caryn so I'm not really new but thanks for the welcome just the same.
The comment posted before I managed to get my name spelled. Usually it's the other way round and I have to send twice for it to post. :-)
Aklejor kan man aldrig få för många.... jag har både på ängen o i rabatterna ;-)
Hoppas du får sova för myggen inatt ;-) I Västerplana blåser de bort....
Ha´t himla gôrgôtt
Nina
Boy Christer you sure do know how to find them. A fly landing on a flyswatter. Must be suicidal. Either that or he's really asking for it. No laughing matter. I think your fly and Kat's squirrels have a lot in common. I love that first cat photo. 4 lbs? That's gotta be because they are outdoor cats. Mine are 7 lbs. Have some great overtime.
Calamine lotion!
The flowers look so pretty and fantastic today.. and quite exotic looking.
Our hours are being cut back too, but I'll be ranting about that later. I wish we had the option to not work weekends. I work 2/3 :(
Tjänare Monne!
Visst gör det :-)
Men jag föredrar de som ser mer "normala" ut i färg och form trots allt.
Ha det gott!
Christer.
Hi Nina!
Perhpas I should start looking at the flies as my pets, I can stand many things my pets does :-) :-) :-)
I guess You love all flowres :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Hi Caryn!
Well You are always welcome here :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Tjänare Nina!
Det verkar som om aklejor alltid är älskade, har inte hört en enda negativ kommentar om dem någonsin!
Fick sova riktigt gott och det kan behövas eftersom det blir övertid idag.
Ha det gott!
Christer.
Hi Z&M!
I think it was just challenging me :-) :-) But I won :-)
Yes her squirrels and my flies sort of makes us think a lot of them, they are our enemies :-) :-)
I don´t know why Bertil is so small, his brother weighs much more. Well that can be one of the reasons, Teodore eats perhaps all food :-) :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Hi Perovskia!
Yes they do look a bit exotic :-) But to be honest, I think they are very common all over the northern part of this little place in space.
Normally weekends only is used for overtime in factories. Your job is very much different in that way. I do need my free time from work so weekends is a no no for working :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Aaah there's my Bertil! What a cat he is. He lives life to the fullest! What an adventurer!!
I enlarge your photo's and the one of the two of them was so cute...yep a huge difference in size.
Lovely pictures of your flowers, Christer, and thanks for identifying my climber on my patio. It has the sweetest and most pleasant smell. It is potted..and as with all vine..I am keeping a close eye on it. :)
Honeysuckle flowers are probably larger. I just forget and usually only look at the beauty and forget the complicated names..
It has been hot, really hot here..but today it is beautiful weather...probably 78 to 80 degree's..it might reach 84.
Take care Christer.
Mona
p.s. Did Mike write to you? I gave him your blog address...he wants his own blog and is struggling...I wanted him to see yours as an example... I have known him for nearly 60 years. :)
Mona
Christer, the mosquitoes and other bug bites were annoying Grenville and myself also last night...maybe a global attack?
The flower photos are lovely. And I cimpletely agree with your comments on not wanting to work on weekends..these are for rest and fun and maybe some house projects.
Hi Mona!
Yes Bertil is a true adventurer and I only hope he can manage to stay away from the fox.
I recognised that jasmine since many of my customers wanted it and every one of them killed it :-) :-) We have it to dry in our homes during winter for them.
They say it might be sunny here today. The mosquitoes are happy since they have lots of young ones in the small ponds just waiting to start pesting the rest of the world :-) :-) :-)
No he hasn´t. But he´s welcome to contact me if he wants too!
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Hi Beatrice!
It wouldn´t surprise me if they were intelligent enough to make a global attack :-) :-) :-)
Yes, weekends are holy for me. The only time I can think of working a weekend is if I can take days of in the middle of the week instead. If not I stay at home :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
My friend at whisprsweely of cottages said i should look at your blog. Beautiful flowers in your part of the country. i have a couple of pics of flowers in my yard on my blog. I have just started blogging so am kind of grasping at straws,
Hi anonymous!
Mona mentioned that she told You to take a look here. Welcome by the way!
I would gladly visit You on your blog if You give me the adress!
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Hi Pepe444 and welcome to my blog!
It looks as if my answer to You didn´t make it the other day.
I´ve taken a look at Your blog, but unfortunally my spanish is more than rusty. I did look at Lagy Gaga´s video, so thanks for posting that because I haven´t seen it before. I will visit You again!
By the way, I took a look at Your other blog too :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
