Every one loves Orvar and the feeling is mutual :-)
Finally the warm weather has come. We have 26C (79F) and I´m happy :-) It will stay much like thie for the rest of the week too. Clouds will gather afternoon every day, but that´s quite normal here. It´s a bit to hot at work to be honest, but I dont care. As long as I drink lots of water I´ll be fine :-)
The white rose of Finland. This is one of the three not wild roses I have in my garden. Since it´s mostly sand here most roses don´t like it especially much.
The common Dog rose.
Japanese rose, Rosa rugosa.
The old lady loves this weather too. She´s more active in an hour now, than she was all winter :-) :-) She plays with her sons and digs for dandelion root all day when I´m home. Her apetite is back too so now she doesn´t look like she´s been starving for half her life :-) :-)
My double Cinnamon rose, Rosa majalis. Here with a sort of hoverflie. They look like wasps but are totally harmless. They are also our friends in the garden. Their larvae lives on aphises.
Meadow rue, Thalictrum aquilegiifolium.
I´m taking a day of from work tomorrow. Orvar has an appointment at the vet and it will take so much time first going to work, then drive home fetching Orvar. Take almost the same road back and beyond work to the vet, drive home agin and then back to work :-) :-) :-) So it´ll be an early blog tomorrow. But back to Orvar. He started to limp rather bad last week and we didn´t get any time at the vet until tomorrow. He´s much better, but there´s still a slight limping and thinking back there has been for some weeks now. So I better check what it is even if he´s better now.
The flowerbuds on Codonopsis clematidea, Asian bellflower. The outside if this flower is plain white. It´s the inside that has the beauty.
It´s time for another cup of tea and then out to visit You all.
Have a great day now!
This is one of these flies that wants my blood! Just look at that diabolical orange eye! If You get the light from the other direction it´s diabolical green instead :-) The big thing under it´s head is what it cuts open the flesh with. It hurts like H....! and for a long time too. It took me almost 30 minutes to hunt it down on my bottom floor. They are smart also I´m afraid. Chrysops relictus is its name, we call it Blinning.

Hope Orvar checks out ok. Glad you finally have hot weather. We finally do too. Love the flower photos, I can almost smell the roses. What kind of tea do you drink? How about a picture of your tea and teapot, or one of you drinking tea, since you're always talking about tea, I'd really like to see a photo of your tea break. :) Enjoy the sun and the day off tomorrow.
Hi Christer,
Hope Orvar is okay. Do you have Lyme disease there yet? It often shows up in animals as mysterious limping that comes and goes.
That's one serious looking fly. Looks like our deer flies except maybe bigger. Deer flies are nasty. They always went for the space behind the horses' ears and drove the horses crazy. Didn't do much for the riders' peace of mind either. :-)
We have a very hot day here today. I will be drinking iced tea, I think. Have a good day.
Yes, please have Orvar checked out... been limping too long... loved the pix of the flowers, today, so refreshing... you could make a calendar and sell it on Etsy... how long are your summers?... seems like its been a long time coming... enjoy your tea and web-sailing... 8-)
Hi Terria!
We have longed for this weathar so long now! So I wo´t complain even if it is really to hot at work :-) :-)
I usually drinks "Earl Grey" but sometimes changes to "russian Earl Grey or "Persian Earl Grey". That is if I don´t go to thecoffee/tea shop in Falköping. They have a couple of varieties I buy when going there.
I did get a tea called "Irish breakfast tea" from Joyce in the latest pakage and I really liked it. But I can´t find it in any store.
If I remember it I´ll take a photo of my favourite place to drink my tea at :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Hi Caryn!
I haven´t heard of any case of Lyme disease in this village, so I´m not sure if we have it here. But it´s worth talking to the vet about it!
We have those deer flies here too and they are truly nasty! We have to many of those here cold and rainy summers.
Enjoy Your tea and have a great day now!
Christer.
Hi Sharlene!
Orvar and his brother plays rough sometimes and when I see what happens it´s no problems. They limp around a day or two and then they´re ok again. But this has been going on to long now.
What´s Etsy? Never heard about it before.
Normally we count summer from early June to mid/late August. Our last days of frost usually comes around 6th-10th of June. But just the other night the temperature dropped down to 36F.
This year spring came real late and summer even later. I still have appleblossoms on one tree!
Have a great day now!
Christer.
That's one helluva fly you got there Christer. Looks like it came out of a monster movie. My God, I'm glad we don't have anything like that over here. Do they drive cars or just fly? I love that first photo of cat and dog.
hi christer....i sure hope orvar will be ok. starting tomorrow we will have a few oooler days. i am sooo sick of this awful hot weather. i am still cleaning my basement and i am only 1/4 done. i have way too much stuff!
Hi Z&M!
I can only agree, one helluva fly :-) Since spring been so weat we have loads of them soon. That means long armed sweaters, mosquitoe hat, jeans and rubber boots when out walking in some places with my dogs. Thankfully few of them coes to our houses :-)
I had one of them in my car yesterday, but I forgot to ask if she (because it´s only females that drinks blood) drive :-) :-)
This is one of the smaller ones too :-) :-)
I do like that photo too :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Hi Joyce!
I think it´s just some pain from playing with his brother, but I feel it´s best to get it checked anyway.
Congratulations to the cooler wather :-) You have had it hot for a very long time now. As long as we´ve had it cold :-) :-)
Only a 1/4 done :-) I think I can empty my basement in ten minutes :-) :-) :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Christer.
Wow! Christer, that is one fly I would not want to be bitten by!
All of your animals are very special. Like children, when raised with lots of love and care, they become really good pets. The same with children. They become good citizens. Hmmm...just a thought! :)
I do love roses. I love all flowers but, yes, roses might be my favorites...
The artist that paints them is on ebay..and even though I paint them myself..I love to buy from different artists.
I am happy you are taking Ovar to the Vet to make absolute certain as to what is ailing him. :)
Mona
The roses you featured in this post are different and lovely!!
As with all the other good wishes, Grenville and I add our own that Orvar is feeling better after the vet visit. The comment about lyme disease might be worth checking out. We have a human friend who has been battling its side effects...not very nice. As always, the flowers were lovely, Christer.
What a nasty looking fly. I just read that they are water breeders. You might cut down on their population by applying some Bacillus Thuringiensis (BT) which is an organic larvacide, to the ponds near you.
We have a similar one in the salt marshes. Nasty buggers.
Oh! I Adore that photo of Orvar and his kitty. I think that you should make a calendar of your wonderful photos of your furry family. You need to check out
http://www.etsy.com/
I am working on opening TWO shops there. One for my art and one for my vintage finds.
I am so lucky that I work at my vet clinic. Our vet is also an animal chiropractor and I didn't have that much faith in chiropractic care until I saw a dog that could hardly move and dragged its hind legs, was running and playing. I wish you weren't so far away, I'd have my vet look at Orvar, maybe he needs an adjustment and he would be as good as new! Do you have any animal chiropractors around? I'll be thinking of him and sending positive happy thoughts that you and he will end up having a fun day off!
Hi Mona!
e have plenty of those flies and even bigger too. Thi is just one of the smaller slightly smaller than a 1/3 of an inch :-) :-)
All animals are special (and usually better behaved than humans :-) :-) ) and I love looking at them and how they react in different situations. Orvar and Hector has never showed a single agressive reaction ever :-)
Roses are truly beautiful, but a bit to fussy when it comes to where they want to live. Only the wild ones loves it here but that´s not so bad either :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Hi Beatrice!
Everything is worth checking out I feel. But I don´t think I would ever have thought about Lyme disease myself. That is a truly nasty disease! People have been handicapped for the rest of their lives when getting it. Definatly worth checking out!
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Hi Grenville!
And this fly is just the tiny cute one :-) :-)
Yes, most of them are water breeders and there´s a lot of water out in the bog this year!
We have some of the strongest animal protection laws in the world and these flies are protected by it too I´m afraid. We can´t getting BT without a license and only the governement are allowed to give permits to use it. We have way to small problems here to get a permit like that.
There is one place here in Sweden that has hughe problems with mosquitoes and they are allowed to use a similar bacteria every year. But they could catch over a thousand mosquitoes within a minute and even worse sometimes. I´ll just have to hope for a dry spring next year :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Hello, Christen!
Hope your Orvar buddy feels better soon!
Oh, I can't get enough of your beautiful place, it's sweet!
The other day you asked abut my spiritual path, and my reply was swallowed by Blogger. So here you can find a bit of an idea of it's about, when you're in the mood ofreading!

Wish you a gret Thursday and a good working day, with lots of water.
Kisses from Nydia.
Hi Nydia!
I do like to live here :-)
I´ll read these links when I get home from work today. I really like to read and learn about different beliefs/religions. Thanks for those links!
Must have lots of water at work today, it´s going to be real hot they say :-)
Have a greate day now!
Christer.
