The sun set yesterday. During summer there is no place by my cottage thet lays in shadow for a whole day. there´s either morning or evening sun all around.

It´s a cold and damp day here by the Cranelake. Even though the clock is 9:20 am the temperature is still around 1C (34F). The early morning were foggy but that has at least dissapered now. Just a bit north from here it´ll snow today and they say by tomorrow the´ll have around 10cm (4 inches) of snow. Well it won´t stay for long since the day will become to warm for that, but still. This is typical April weather.

I´ve started to walk with a crutch again. A couple of days ago I started to sneeze a lot and suddenly it felt like a muscle broke :-) :-) I didn´t know how many muscles are involved in a sneeze, but now I know that the thigh muscle is :-) :-) It still hurts but not as much as before so I hope it´ll be gone by next week when I´m going to the hospital to meet my doctor.

I´m going to the hospital today too but this time for taking x-rays of the hip and I´m sure that it will look good. After that I´ll buy some fire logs since the weather seemes to stay rather cold for at least a couple of days.Spring seemes to have taken a short vacation at the moment.

I feel it´s time to put more firelogs in the stove and refill my cup with tea. I do hope it won´t snow here today since all of us now have summer tires and they are pretty useless in cold snow.

Have a great day now!

Teodor seldom follows us on our walks, but he is usually waiting for us at home.

The House sparrow nests under the tiles of my cottage. As You can see they have cleaned out last yeras grass and put it in the gutter. This is the male, the female is probably inside warming the eggs.

So Christer, can you hear the birds from inside the house? I wonder. We had a birds nest in our attic and the chirping could be heard through the vents. Lovely photos today and the cat looks very comfortable. I hope he doesn't get spied by a fox. I go to the hospital today too. It's for a blood test only. I have to have that done every six months. Have a good one!

Hi Z&M!
No I can´t hear them there, but when they had a nest on the other side of the hose I could hear them all the time :-)

It can be a bit anooying to have to go to the hospital on a regular basis, I have to go once a year for my hips. But it feel rather nice when knowing everything is ok :-)
Have a great day now!

A thigh muscle from a sneeze? That's very random :) I hope it's okay.

So sorry you're back on crutches. Prayers for you to get better. Love the pictures you've posted, though!

Hi Perovskia!
I did get a bit surprised to be honest :-) :-) I´ve heard og people getting lumbago from sneezes, but that is so to speak in the right region. But In the thigh!! :-) :-) It´s getting better though.
Have a great day now!

hi christer! most people that make pulled pork sandwiches use barbeque sauce on them. this would be a good recipe for you because you could freeze individual servings and take them out of the freezer as needed. also, pork shoulder is really cheap, at least it is here, and so you can get a lot of meals for very little cost. the one i showed on my blog was 8 pounds and it cost less than 8.00. when i sneeze teddy runs out of the house.

Hi Joyce!
Barbeque sauce sound much better to me :-) Last time I bought pork it costed around 7 US dollars for a bit more than two pounds, so it´s amongst the cheaper meats over here too.But I see that we are way way over Your price :-) :-)

My cats run when I sneeze, but my dogs are used to it by now :-) :-) :-)
Thanks for the sauce tip!
Have a great day now!

I'm really going to have to read back into you older entries to find out what happened to you. But in the meantime - I love you're pictures, but I don't find myself the least bit envious at the cool weather your getting. I'll take my west coast.

I enlarge every picture so I can get the full closeup view of everything. I love them. Such lovely countryside.
Well..those birdies know it is Spring. Eggs and all? Those eggs would freeze in Winter...so..hey I believe the birds. :)
I'm glad you liked the little home I posted. It is not in my immediate neighborhood, but rather on our main street through town. It is called Magnolia Ave. All of the homes are very old. The home is deep. Facing the house the window on the right is the livingroom I believe..and the window on the left is the dining room. I know this because I have peered into their windows at night when I took walks and there is a chandelier through those windows on the left I. I must check. Yes, I could go up and ask questions as they are my sons friends..but my poor husband would have fainted had I done that. :) I'll tell you a story, well, maybe two, of a time I did exactly that. Stopped and talked to the people.
This sweet spouse is very shy and proper and I am a bit overwhelming to him at times. Nope...Howard would have plain fainted had I been so bold. :)
Still raining here. But just now hitting the 40's.

Hi LJ!
I´m not that fond of our weather either :-) :-) Well I can take this, but our long winters (even if they aren´t as cold as this one was are awful. We get it so dark up here during winter.

I´ve gotten hip implants, that´s why I have crutches at home :-) I have psoriatic arthritis that slowly but surely is destroying my articular cartilage. So now I have hip implants in both my hips. I can say that it´s not especially nice when the thigh muscle then starts to argue during recovering :-) :-) :-)
Have a great day now!

I just joined your blog. You take beautiful pictures, and your countryside is vastly different than mine! Yet only a few generations ago, my great grandparents would have been near neighbors in Norway.

Hi Mona!
It is a cute cottage! It looks very american to me and I´ve learned that sometimes houses from the old west doesn´t show much in the front but continue far in the back instead.

If I sort of new those living there, like You do, I would probably just go and ask them too. But if they were total strangers I´d rather die than talk to them :-) :-) :-)
Have a great day now!

Hi Arizona Gronseths and welcome to my part of the world!
I can imagine that Your enviroment looks very differnt than ours :-) Isn´t it mostly desert in the south but forests in the north?

Norway is probably the most beautiful country inthe world (perhaps New Zealand is as beautiful)!

Have a great day now and welcome back!

Christer.
