I woke up this morning with a stuffed nose and a sour throat. Not a good start of a day that would become worse :-) The morning walk with my dogs were quite nasty with cold winds and drizzle that chilled my bones. Indoors I could feel the cold humid air get through the walls, but there was no use in starting a fire in the stove since I was on my way to the hospital.

I had planned on waiting quite some time before I could be x-rayed, because I had a drop in appointment. That means that they will x-ray me when the have a couple of minutes over during the day. So I had a book with me (Harry Potter, The goblet of fire) and hadn´t even opened it before they called my name :-) So I went home again within 25 minutes :-) and ate some breakfast because I realized I had forgotten to do that this morning :-) :-)

I could have stayed at home for the rest of the day, but since we have problems at work I thought it best to go there anyway. I´m the head of the union and gets involved in all problems we might get at work. I can´t tell You anything about the problems we have right now, but I can tell You about problems in general.

If an accusation is made either to me or the owner we meet and start discussing the problem. If the accusation is serious we might ask our different organizations for help and I did this this time since I´m fairly new as the head of the union. They explain how the law should be interpreted and what actions might be taken. One problem is that we all might hear what these persons say, but interpret it in different ways.

Another problem is when the accused accuses the accuser  (did that make sense :-) :-) ). Then we have to figure out if one of them is lying or both or do they actually believe they tell the truth both of them?! Are there any witnesses that can support any of the stories? Perhaps both sides can be supported by other peoples observations?

We are at the moment in the situation that we can´t figure out anything of these questions above. I and the "vice head" :-) of the union has to do our normal work a the same time as we tries to figure out what really has happened and spend much of our evenings talking by the phone trying to figure out what to do and wha to believe.

But the big guys in the union will come tomorrow thank good! I want us all to gather in a neutral place so we can talk to all concerned in this and I hope I can get the others to agree to that too. This is a nasty buisness and it will most probably be much, much worse before it´s over.

But the evening is nice. The sun is shining and the cold wet air has dried up some. I have a fire in the stove and a cup of tea by my side. I better enjoy this evening because tomorrow comes a new day with new problems :-)

Have a great day now!

A man died here a couple of days ago because he had been eating one White Toadstool. They are easily confused with this musroom, the Champignon.

But they are actually quite easy to separate from each other. A White Toadstool is ALWAYS white undernieth and the Champignon is NEVER white undernieth. There are other ways to separate them too but this is the easiest.

Hi Joyce!

I´m not sure that man agrees with You :-) :-) But mushrooms are really interesting. It can be difficult to make mushrooms grow where You want them too. But one way is to dig a hole in the ground. Place a thick layer of newspaper in the bottom.

Place the soil You dug away on top of the newspaper, all soil but the top layer. Ther should be mushrooms there already next year.

I do hope that things will turn for the better soon at work, but I doubt it.
Have a great day now!

I was promoted to a dept head position at the AFL-CIO and when the employees in the mail room who came under my supervision asked for a raise I found out because it was just the two of them, they were not union. Can you imagine? Employees of the biggest union conglomerate and two women were not members of a union? I talked to the comptroller and he said they don't have a bargaining unit so I did some research and placed them with the Mailhandlers Union who readily gave them what we call a luncheon union, that's their union hall, but a bonifide chapter for people who can't find a home in the trade movement. They both qualified for a GS-9 raising their salaries from $19,000 to $27,500. Were they happy? Just writing this so you know some experiences couldn't be better. This one had a happy ending. So sorry to read about your problems and the neighbor dying. What a post!

Hello Christer,
Sorry to hear of the man who died ... but you have much mind when it comes to mushrooms.
See interesting thing ... you with so many problems at work, out of bed with a cold e. .. your photos are wonderful anyway :)
All amaze me. The ray of sunshine through the trees, the mushrooms red, sunrise ...
I hope the problems will be solved soon. You seem to know it will be resolved diplomatically:)

I hope your problems get worked out soon, but where you live must bring you a lot of joy in way of compensation!
I'm sorry to hear of the mans death - which is why I always steer clear of wild mushrooms... Well, accept for one certain one. It looks like an upside down pinecone, but I can't remember the name right now. I'm just getting over a migraine, and I'm afraid my brain isn't working too well this morning...lol!

Well, it's no wonder the whole world can't get along. I think it is the nature of man. Not a great spot to be in at work I suppose but when in a positon of authority, it comes with the territory. Trouble, I mean! :)

Yes, I've been throwing leaves around for about a week now. By the time I am finished, it will be time to...oh wait. They can stay until Christmas. Only the Witches (my fav's) have to go back into hiding.
It sounds like some serious stress at work. I hope it all turns out well and will be over soon.

Howard is...limping along. Poor man is in so much pain at times. His poor leg looks like a tree trunk instead of a leg. Today he found the would not give him any more pain pills :) so he was in a black mood all day.
I smile because they can be addictive.
He has not had an easy time..and neither have you. I am hoping I never have to have it done.
Mine was bad enough. It will be a year for me the 30th of this month. I am just about back to full speed. Doing great. Now to get my sweet Howard back on track! It was a month this past monday.
Take care, Christer. Not much color in our tree's here yet. But soon.

p.s. Christer...I need an email address for you so I can send you a photo. I found your book. It is small but a hardback. I will send you a picture. I just was not sure if you wanted a small one. It's very nice. You don't have to take it if it is not to your liking. I would understand completely.

Hope you are feeling better, Christer. I have been catching up on blog reading this week since being away for a week visiting my mother in NJ for her birthday and helping with household things in her home. Thanks for the tips on anti-virus programs which I run regularlt. It's very important information. You are really into some beautiful weather for photos.

Hi Didi!
Yes it is too bad when these things happens. Especially since it is so easy to separate them. But even if I know the difference I never pick champignons. One day I might be tired and miss that I actually have picked a white toad stool.
I´m so glad that You like my photos :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Tatrsmama!
I don´t have to deal with this problem any more thankfully. It´s way to much for me. This area is perfect when it comes to clean out the brain from problems like this :-)

There are some safe mushrooms that every one can pick, so I think it is unnecessary to take a chance on mushrooms that might be confused with dangerous ones.

I have migrain sometimes and it´s awful! I hope You don´t have it to often!
Take care now!
Christer.

Hi Mona!
So true, I have to deal with situations like this but I hope i´t never will be as serious as it is this time. Now the union has taken over so I don´t have to worry about this any more.

So he still has pain! Not nice at all. But sometimes it´s the pain pills that actually makes the body ache. I guess they want him to move around a lot too? His surgery was much tougher than mine.

I think that if he moves around much the cirkulation in the leg will get better and the swelling would then go down.

So it´s been a year since You had Yours! I´m glad that You feel good now!

I´ll send You a mail just after answering every one here. No matter if it is small! I want it :-)

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Christer.

Hi Beatrice!
I was wondering if something had happened to You. No updates of the blog either :-)

We can never have to many anti virus programs!

The weather is everything and nothing at the same time here now :-) Sunshine, clouds, sun and rain, clouds and rain and any other combination You can find :-) :-)
Have a great day now!
