Well by now You all know I love to watch the sky and take pictures of it. This was the Saturday morning sky.

I have had nothing but troubles with my left buttock today. It has been swollen and really stiff where the fly bit me yesterday :-) The swelling has been bigger than the palm of my hand and during the day it has been aking and itching something incredible :-) My friends at work have had a lot of fun about that today :-) :-) But it has at least stopped to hurt now and hopefully the itching has stopped by tomorrow. I don´t want to go through this one more day :-)

It has been a very warm day today. The sun has shined and the wind has blown, making it even more dry in the ground than before. I really hope that there woun´t be a fire in the bog now, it would spread like crazy with the help of the wind and all dry bushes. Last year there were a big fire in a bog not far away from here. The lokals asked for help at Falköping firedepartement, they have a helicopter and a big bag that can be filled with water to put out fires. But the answer they got was that there were no one that could fly the helicopter they have??!! They didn´t seeme to think that they perhaps would hire some one that could fly it :-) The fire kept on for much longer than iot had to and finally stopped because heavy rains came and put it out.

I have walked near this place for almost nine years now, but it was only last sunday that I understood that these rocks are an old stonage toomb. It has fallen appart a long time ago and has most likly been plundered too. They must have carried the stones from far away, The biggest stones in the area is big as a fist otherwise.

It has been a bit boring at work today, the time just semed to stand still all day. To make time pass a bit faster, days like that I start to make up stories in my head. If I´m in a bad mood, that happens :-) they are so sad that I almost gets slightly depressed :-) Other days I think I´m so funny that I laughes out loud, some of my work friends then thinks I lost my mind :-) It´s a perfect way to stop looking at the clock every second minute. It seemes I´m the only one at work doing like that. Am I strange do You think? :-)

Bertil follows us on our walks most of the times.
It´s a good way to not let the brain die totally too. My kind of work usually not includes a lot of thinking when I finally have learned how to do it. After learning it all goes automatically and then I usually get bored. When I get bored at work I usually wonders if this is what life is all about and then I perhaps buys another gardencenter and that I can´t afford :-) So it´s easier to make up stories in my mind :-)

This and comming pictures shows the view whan I´m standing beside my neighbours stable. The dark sky started to let go of its water just minutes after the pictures was taken :-)

I have to close my kitchen door now. I can hear magpies jumping around at my table, stealing cat food again. My cottage should really be called Magpie cottage :-) Unfortunally it doesn´t sound as good in swedish, otherwise I would make a sign at work and put it over my entrance door. A white one with blue lettres I think would be nice. Now i really have to get these birds out of my home!
Have a great day now!

what would magpie cottage be in swedish? when i was finishing my sons house i decided to name it. i thought of all sorts of names. someone suggested witch house but that just sounded stupid. in german it would have been hex haus which would have been even dumber. i ended up naming it la petite maison vert. it is green and small. when i am doing boring tasks that is when i do my best thinking. i find that the repetition of doing the same thing relaxes my mind and i can think more clearly. that is one of the reasons i cook so much. i find it very relaxing and thought provoking. you have magpies in your kitchen and it looks like i am about to have squirrels in my house. i feed them nuts and since it is so cool out they are storing them for winter and they want more. they have been right outside all day yelling at me. teddy is at the groomer so i better watch out. god forbid a squirrel comes inside and then she comes home. instant chaos!!! great photos today christer! joyce

Hi Joyce!
Well we can say it in slightly different ways, my cottage is an old croft. Cottage = Stuga, croft = torp. So it can be either Skatstugan or Skattorpet. Doesn´t sound really good in swedish either of them :-) Sounds much better in english, but it would seeme strange to have an english name on a swedish cottage/croft. Strangly enough french works rather well otherwise, but not now. It is spelled much the same as in english :-) :-)

I don´t think any of these animals fits well in a home :-) :-) But my dog Orvar would probably be happy if we got squirrels inside here too :-) We don´t have that many squirrels here though. We have to many martens for that, they eat squirrels You see. I like both those animals, but it´s impossible to have them both in the same area unfortunally.
Have a great day now!
Christer.

You take such beautiful photos...thank you for sharing them with us. Your country is so lovely, and when you post it is like we all that read your blog can go on a mini vacation from our own homes.
I have only been here in Santa Rosa CA since January...but where I use to live in Oregon, I had to worry about bears & cougars. I lived in a little blue cabin by the river in the Siuslaw National forest. The Eagles nested near my place so when I let our my little dog I had to make sure my 2 labs went out too so that they would discourage them...just in case one of the eagles wanted to pick her up for supper. I really loved that place...but economics and losing my job I had to move. Again thank you for sharing your life with us...I enjoy your posts very much. Oh by the way, I do my best thinking when I listen to my favorite songs!

Pretty pictures Christer. Love that the portal still looks vibrant. The country road sets it off like a Christmas card cover. Very nice. I blame Bertil for not catching that horse fly before it got to you. My, my what was he thinking? Probably got back to you for not stocking the pond with his favorite uuummmm are you ready for this one? "Catfish". hehehehehe see? I'm going crazy like you too. It must be this blog, not your work at work. Have a good one!

Hi Diane and thank You!
I feel like living in a postcard sometimes :-) But most of our country looks like this.

Bears comes very selodom this much south and we don´t have anything as big when it comes to cats. The lynx is our biggest cat and it´s really shy. One has to be really lucky to see one. We do have the occational wolf however. I think Oregone sounds wonderful!

My dogs are so big that i don´t have to worry about the eagles we have here, but my neighbour always looks up in the sky when their little dog is outside. They see eagles all the time, I´ve never seen one :-)

Times are tough now and many have had to do like You have, moved from their homes. But what else to do, one has to survive. Thankfully my home is so cheap to live in, so I can stay even if I loose my job.

Have a great day now!
Christer.

Hi Z&M!
I blame Bertil too :-) But his claws in my buttock doesn´t sound as fun either :-) :-)

I´ve seen how big Catfish can be, so I think it´s best not to have any in my pond :-) :-)
Have a great day now!

Hello. I think my favorite picture today is the one with your cat and dog on the road. Not sure if it is the bright green or how homey it just is... like something from eras past. Have you tried toothpaste for your bite? Sometimes it helps draw out whatever it is that is causing the issue in a bug bit and maybe it will stop being swollen and itch. How did you get birds in your house again? I guess I missed that before. No your not crazy just no one else will admit they do the same. Thanks for sharing again.

Hi Chelle!
Perhaps it´s the green color? Green is southing I´ve heard, perhaps that´s why I love gardening so much?

I haven´t tried toothpaste for insektsbites before. I think I´ll try that in a moment. Thanks for the tip!

Well the magpies have found out that I have the cat food not to far away from my kitchen door :-) So as soon as I open the door they fly in and steel as much as they can before I get in to the kitchen :-) :-) My big dog Orvar can sleep just beside the place and the magpies just jumps over him, he doesn´t care at all :-) :-) :-) In a way one has to admire the magpies that dare to do this :-)
Have a great day now!

Christer...I am so sorry about your bum getting bitten! I had it h happen to me in Florida. I was sitting on a lawn chair..one of those webbed ones and had on a pair of jeans. NOT thin ones..and was bitten several times right through my jeans. So...I wouldn't put it past a horse fly or anything if they are after your blood! :) There is even an old country western song about being bitten by a horse fly...so you are not the only one...if that is what it was! :) Toothpaste? If Visiting Voyager says it works...it works! She is an amazing woman!

Hi Mona!
My buttock is much better now :-) :-)
I too belive it must have been a deer- or horse fly. Nasty devils they are. But I thought that their season was over.
I use tooth paste when I have a pimple, it dries out over a night. Next time I´m bitten I´ll try toothpaste directly. I think it´ll work with the swelling.
Have a greaat day now!
Christer.
